I would just like to say how disgusted I am after being a shopper for all my life with how I was treated on: 25/02/2026 @20:46 on Knaresborough Road Lidl Store. I have been a loyal customer all my life shopping at both your Knaresborough Road store & the Lidl in Knaresborough, Chain Lane. Every shop has been pleasant with good service & great prices until now. What an absolute shambles & disgrace I have been treated by not just one of your employees but also management at your Knaresborough Road store. So much so I have put it on multiple large public Facebook groups with pictures and proof to prove the innocence of my friend who your employee, "patty" I believe she is called accusing my friend of theft. To accuse someone & make such wild, false & criminal allegations after I proved my friend hadn't stolen anything without a single apology is just shameful & absolutely disgusting. Just so you're also aware I actually posted this on 3 public Facebook pages with over 100,000 people in total in these groups. If you would like to call me before I take this further feel free as I'm disgusted your employee, "Patty" has made such wild accusations without asking my friend if she had paid for her chocolate twist either by challenging her, asking to see her receipt/proof of purchase, checking store CCTV, checking till CCTV on the self serve, asking her colleagues or checking the till history or even the till (in which the receipt was still in). Without doing any of this she has completely assumed my friend has stolen a 69p chocolate twist because of her sheer lack of professionalism & due diligence & sheer neglect when if she had an ounce of common sense or brains she would have seen the proof of the receipt that was left still in the till receipt printer. The managers who she also called over showed no remorse or gave any apologies for this. I spoke to a lovely older lady outside the store after this ordeal who was having a cigarette and she informed me that this isn't the first time this has happened. If you would like to continue to lose loyal lifelong customers which both of us are feel free to continue to treat loyal paying customers like criminals. Both of the managers should also be ashamed of themselves by the sheer lack of anonymity they are giving to their employee (Patty) to make wild, false accusations without a single shed of evidence. The member of staff called patty and the older taller man and woman who the accused called over should also be just as ashamed of themselves for allowing and seemingly agreeing this is ok. It is law to be treated innocent until proven guilty. Your employees are not above the law nor are they judge, jury or executioner but to just make wild false accusations without any evidence when all she had to do was check the till or even ask my friend where the receipt was or even challenge her is beyond a joke. I even asked the accuser "Patty" to ring the police when she threatened to do so for taking a picture of her which she covered her face but is ok making serious false allegations of a crime? Why did she not? Is it because she realised she was in the wrong but chose not to take accountability or responsibility for her actions. Now she has shown what shockingly poor service & dam right rude managers and supervisors are to over 100,000 local people. If my friend commited a theft why didn't she call the police when she threatened to do so and I also said to. If I don't hear back from you I will be informing local papers as well as that is the worst customer experience I have ever ever experienced in my life. To accuse someone of a serious crime as theft/shop lifting when my friend was completely innocent is beyond me that you allow this behaviour & condone it with your supervisors & store managers is frankly unbelievable. This behaviour from your staff especially Patty but also for the manger and supervisor to allow this is indescribable. All three should be ashamed & disciplined, dismissed or restrained as this is completely unacceptable to treat innocent paying customers as thieves and criminals. I'm am really looking forward to hearing a response from you ASAP & certainly a written apology from all 3 and what steps or disciplinary action you are taking to prevent further incidents like this as I certainly will not accept anything other than this to me and my friend. I very much am looking forward to hearing back from you to hear what your response & solutions are to this matter?
No Turkeys and it's Christmas. Same as last year. Aldi, Morrisons and Sainsbury's have them.
This store is a joke. It’s a comedy of errors, every time I’ve been in, literally. Why do the cashiers not have the authority to void transactions or do refunds? Instead they press a button to call a manager leaving a queue of 30 people waiting! We all stand there redundant to the process. Takes an agonising amount of time. How very stupid. This store is not serving the community well at all. Always out of basic stock and the prices are nowhere near Aldi on most things. Getting some self-serve checkouts would be a start. Take a trip to Aldi down the road, they make running a supermarket seem
much easier. As far as I’m concerned Knaresborough Lidl is a waste of the sight it’s built on. Even the old Co-op was better, and believe me that was terrible as well. Lets have a Waitrose in Knaresborough instead of this pathetic Lidl.

I wanted to protest against the way I was treated first by the cashier, who turned out to be the store manager, and then, at his request, by the customer service staff of the Lidl supermarket in Harrogate. I wanted to make a complaint about the manager of the Lidl store in Harrogate on Knasborough rd. I was shopping in this store today Saturday 4 January 2025, around 4:00 PM. I went to the checkout with my purchases, paid, received a bill that seemed too high to me. I checked it and it turned out that one of the cold cuts which after a 50% discount from £1.99 should have been counted at £0.99. So I went to the cashier with a complaint to take into account the discount. He refunded me £0.70. So after a while I tried to go back to the checkout because the difference was bigger. I wasn't served. I was told to leave the store and get back to the end of the long queue. When I did that and got in the queue the salesperson turned off the cash register and said he was no longer serving. He told me to go to another line. When I got there he radioed another cashier to ask me to leave the store. When I wanted to talk to the store manager he said he was the one. How can a person who can't see a markdown and can't count to 2 occupy such a position? Good Evening,
I am very shocked and disappointed by this decision and i will take further action.
Firstly I would like to request a reason for by I am banned from the store. As I recall, the cashier got my change wrong so I went back to ask him to have a look. He told us to join the back of the queue which I patiently did. After some waiting in his queue, he maliciously decide to close the whole till. I then went to the next till as he directed me to do. For some reason, in his time he radioed the other cashier. The next day I received a response to my complaint about a ban on shopping in this store for a period of 1 year. Complete lack of respect for consumer rights. It is unacceptable to treat a customer in this way who systematically spends £200-250 in this store every week on family shopping, that is, about £12,000 per year. I didn't steal anything, I didn't offend anyone, and I was treated like a thief and a troublemaker. What are the legal grounds for depriving a consumer of buying food for their family? I will ask for an apology for such treatment and the possibility of returning to me shopping at the supermarket closest to my house. Please help me with this.

CAR PARKING CHARGES....Watch out or you will get a penalty charge fine of £90 reduced to £45 if you pay within 14 days if you park for more than 1hr 30mins at Lidl’s. We are disabled and parked in a disable bay with disabled badge spending over £70 on a shop to find a penalty letter for parking 1hr 47mins just 17 mins over, two days later. Angry is not the term I would use. What was supposed to be a cheaper pensioner shopping trip turned into a disastrous experience. Reading Lidl's on line parking policies it seems that there aren't just one but several which customers have to avail themselves of or still get fined. For me, Lidl has broken faith with its customers stealing £45 from pensioners who can least afford it. Just another way to part customers from their cash by obfuscated policy procedures that penalises the customers pocket. Can’t stand cheats and sharp practices. My views of course.
