Avoid Lidl upton park branch

Avoid Lidl upton park branch. Poor Customer Service,
Today 12/01/2026 at approximately 12:55 PM, at Till Number 13 (Auth Code: 012361).
I selected several bakery items that were clearly displayed with a “Buy 5 for £3” offer. However, when the items were scanned at the till, they showed the normal price. I called for assistance, and a female staff member attended.
Unfortunately, her attitude was unprofessional from the start. She did not greet me and appeared unwilling to help. She informed me that the offer only applied if I had a Lidl Plus card. As this was not clearly stated on the display, I asked for the items to be removed.
She then told me that the items could not be removed because they were “fresh” and that once taken from the shelf, they must be purchased. This is incorrect. The items were bakery products, and as the transaction had not yet been completed, I had the right to cancel them. When I asked to speak to a manager, she removed the items without explanation and walked away from the till without any apology or further communication.
The entire interaction was unpleasant and left me feeling disrespected as a customer. I believe this situation reflects a lack of proper customer service training and clearer communication regarding promotional offers.
I kindly request that this incident be investigated and that appropriate steps be taken to ensure staff are trained to handle customers politely, professionally, and accurately.
Thank you for your time. I look forward to your response.
Yours sincerely

Very disappointing experience in Lidl Green st

I was extremely concerned about my experience in Lidl today in Green Street. Previously I have had a good experience there however today none of the middle of Lidl prices were on display and yet they seem to have products there other products were mislabelled with last weeks prices and products. There were several things that I would’ve liked to have bought, but I had no idea how much they were. The self service tills were not all open probably half open. People were queueing for lengthy periods. I was shocked that they could function like this. I don’t know what’s happening but I’ve never experienced this in the East Ham branch or the Stratford branch. I would suggest a senior manager visit the store urgently as it is in severe risk of not following trading standards.

Working at Lidl has been draining

Working at Lidl has been tough. We were told we could only be at self-checkouts for 5 hours, we end up doing it for the entire 9.5-hour shift. This has caused me severe back and leg pains. Management scolded me for leaning when I was physically drained. Standing for 10 hours, shouting next please, and dealing with rude customers are so mentally draining. The store manager is rude, criticizing me rather than encouraging improvement for my work. Going home on time is impossible, especially during closing at 12 AM. They expect us to stay longer, disregarding our well-being. Closing tasks are overwhelming, as each employee is given the workload of three people. When any complaints are made they chose to tell us to leave or maybe lidl isn’t the place for you. There’s also constant favouritism going on.
