Good App, makes you drive safer naturally, the odd small prize is a great incentive My only gripe, is you can't see how and why youve scored what you've scored, that would be beneficial to to see... See more

Lightfoot has been specifically designed to help businesses run safer and more efficient fleets. Unlike traditional big-brother black boxes, Lightfoot is all about the driver, the human-in-the-machine, and the person with the power to make the difference. Lightfoot empowers those in the driving seat to drive change by adapting their driving style through visual and audible prompts from our unique in-cab device. When drivers adapt to Lightfoot's smoother driving style, they become 'Elite Drivers' (scoring 85% or above). For some drivers that’s a big change, for others a small change, for some it’s no change at all. ‘Elite Drivers’ receive benefits and rewards via the Lightfoot app, which includes features such as The Drivers Lottery where 1 in 10 ‘Elite Drivers’ win cash prizes every week - we are the world’s first technology to reward better driving. When a fleet as a whole achieves Elite status, this can result in reductions in fuel consumption and emissions of up to 15%, reductions accidents by up to 40% and wear and tear costs reduced by up to 45%. Lightfoot is the only Insurer-endorsed driver safety technology thanks to validated accident reduction results seen over millions of miles of driving data. Lightfoot is installed in 30k+ vehicles and is used by 50k+ drivers from more than 200 companies who are committed to safer, greener and more efficient motoring. If you are a business customer already using Lightfoot and require support, please contact your Account Manager or support@lightfoot.co.uk If you’re a Lightfoot driver – our Engagement Team would love to hear about your experience through driverrewards@Lightfoot.co.uk - the Engagement team are here exclusively to help you the drivers, not your employers. We understand that changing years of driving habits can be challenging and even irritating at first. Remember, you don’t need to be perfect, the target is 85% not 100%, which gives you plenty of scope to drive in the amber and red when required and still achieve ‘Elite Driver’ status. We created our industry-first driver engagement platform – real cash, real rewards, real prizes, real winners – to ensure drivers are rewarded for challenge and inconvenience of adapting to Lightfoot. One in ten ‘Elite Drivers’ win cash prizes every week through The Drivers’ Lottery. As a driver, you are one of more than 50,000 using Lightfoot. The vast majority of drivers are happy with the experience, but a tiny proportion (0.1%) have used this forum to express their displeasure. We hope that your experience has been a positive one and that you’re here just having a look around, but if you are frustrated and here to vent your rage then please instead contact our Engagement team via driverperks@Lightfoot.co.uk - the Engagement team are here exclusively to help you..

System may be OK in towns and cities but poor on rural roads collecting nudges overtaking cyclists safely and penalties when overtaking tractors and trailers safely. Unable to accelerate to speed limit when leaving a village if on a downward slope.

In my opinion not a very good product. Have had to endure this device in a work van for around 5 months now, and I agree with all the other drivers in the business we work for - it is just not fit for purpose. The sensitivity is so erratic in all the pool vans. Maybe on the flats of East Anglia it could just about work, but here in Devon where we have hills (and you guys should know being based here), it is not only impractical and annoying not being able to use the correct revs but bordering dangerous having to change up gear before the vehicle is ready with enough revs, so stalling is a frequent event trying appease this green box ticking device. Nowadays we just have to ignore it for safety reasons, its safer to drive properly and at the correct revs than cause an accident. Getting on slipways to main roads is just nudge-nudge constantly. It encourages dangerous driving from other road users wondering why this van in front of them is driving at 30-40mph joining a main road. We did have an automatic van in our pool which of course changes gears when the engine revs and gearbox are ready (and naturally does not over rev the engine), yet with this device it was pinging, nudging, and giving out penalties all day long. This must tell you something about how you have just got the balance and sensitivity so wrong. You have the basis and right foundations for a device that could give a lot of benefit, however the way you have configured this is just not fit for purpose. It was quite distracting looking at the device in the corner of the windscreen, now we just cover it with a towel or rag so we don't have yet another distraction and annoying beeps and nudges at around 1800rpm. I'm sure it ticks some green boxes for the company to get their ISO accreditations and so on. You have been trading as a business long enough now to have made something a lot more robust and practical to a wide range of different vehicles and weight loads - however, you are just not there in my opinion and many others I discuss this product with. It was a toss up between a rating of one and two stars - I chose two for having the right idea but, can't give it anything better than this for all the reasons above, and unfortunately I could go on and on about the flaws in this product. To finish, please don't bother sending me a reply trying to justify it with the ridiculous rubbish you have spouted to other bad reviews. I suspect if you didn't buy good reviews by doing cash prizes and other stuff like that then Lightfoot's rating would almost certainly be down around 2-3 stars.

Height and width restrictions through bollards and bridge overpasses, they are not specific to ths size of vehicle that i am driving.
Impossible to achieve 100% driving score on any journey, moreover, speed score is affected when travelling on motorways even though my vehicle is restricted to 68mph.

Utter garbage, completely unfit for purpose and uses incorrect information. Can’t differentiate between a loaded and unloaded vehicle. Has no consideration for temperature and drivers personal health and wellbeing. Issues idling penalties at outside temperatures of -9°C.

Saving fuel and making people drive at correct speed and rewarding those who drive carefully

Reply from Lightfoot
Lightfoot is a great idea to control speed and acceleration.however thrte are occasions eg when joining a motorway when you need acceleration and as soon as you do,you are penalised and in the red.
Great also for fuel economy

Great way of keeping score and seeing how well driving team are doing

The Lightfoot is fine if you only do short low speed journeys, absolute rubbish if you have to try and join a motorway or dual carriageway as it is in the red before you can get up to a Safe speed to join the traffic and this has a big impact on your journey scores, I suppose it is better than having a camera recording you driving all the time!

Encouraging drivers to remain good drivers by rewarding them with opportunities to win cash and prizes is a genius idea
