Lightspeed itself is quick and help, support is good and so far experienced a couple of issues, firstly our card machine broke 2 weeks after owning one year and they insisted we had to pay for it even tho Dutch law states two years warranty - it seems they don't follow this, only after I threatened to move away did they help.
2nd is Lightspeed capital- it was a great idea, they lend you with front loaded interest a loan to help you with your business etc, which we took out and used, and paid back plus interest. They work out the amount based on your takings. This year we wanted to purchase a movable bar, and to be suddenly told even tho we paid everything off perfectly, we are not longer acceptable ad we can only borrow 9k and now the minimum is 10k. This is a real shame for a small business like myself. Many card processing services offer this not but Lightspeed plays by it’s own rules and not the market. Now we have paid off the outstanding amount we will be looking for less greedy providers as it’s all about there money these days and not the customers needs like in the past. Unfortunately due to the card machine issue and the cash advance changes we feel they are only 2 stars these days as they are there to serve themselves and not the business like they used too -update- they never contacted me nor tried

Disgusting behavior from this company. This is a very expensive provider for payment services, and product hire and software hire. We have 2 card machines, one broke down, now they refuse to do anything with it, and tell me as we have ownd the machine for longer than one year we have to purchase a new one which is 400 euros. Apparently product purchasing law does not applie to there hardware, and there is zero warranty after 1 year because we are a business (owned the machine for 1 year and 1 month). For the amount of money this company charges, its rip off service charges for card transactions, and its amazingly super slow support, this is vile behavior from a processing company that sends out rubbish products that cant last longer than 12 months - its does not care nor wants to help its customers once they have your money.
I will be taking my entire business away from them, and they will lose out now on several hundred thousand euros of transactions from us.

Lightspeed is not perfect but it is sufficient and works for what we need in our small retail shop.
What i would wish was better, and the reason it only gets 3 stars, is that the system is not intuitive and we spend a lot of time looking up how to use it. I have also experienced Lightspeed as a company that is quite messy. Our account manager promises to do lot of things, but in order for it to happen I have to often remind them multiple times. It just costs a lot of energy to have to double check everything and remind them to do what they promised to us. I wish they would be able to provide a service that was more reliable.

Four major pitfalls of the Lightspeed e-commerce platform that no e-commerce platform should have on a commercial level. Before you jump on the Lightspeed bandwagon, read about the problems with the platform below. By reading these problems, if you are a bit technical, you will know that this platform has major problems if you want to have a multilingual site and track your paid ads.
1 - The multilingual features are outdated and time-consuming. On multilingual sites, redirects will not work and your visitors will not be able to browse by switching back and forth between languages.
2- No Hreflang support, which is very important for SEO of multilingual pages. Because of this problem, you will always be outranked by your competitors in Google organic searches in your local community.
3- Facebook pixel installation issues. FB pixel is a must for any e-commerce platform that wants to track the performance of its paid ads on Instagram or Facebook. Unfortunately, Lightspeed has a bug that prevents them from recording conversion data, so you will not know how successful your ad campaign is. This is a huge problem for a professional social media marketer.
4. Major Sitemap management and robots.txt directive issues.. Because of these issues, ambiguous signals are sent to Google and you end up with a lot of errors in Google Search Console. As a result, the Google algorithm will penalise your pages.
When you open tickets for these issues, you will receive the following response: "We currently have no plans to implement these feature requests. We may do so in the future if there is sufficient demand, the capabilities of our system are clear, and the requests fit within our roadmap. Without that certainty, I cannot tell you if these changes will be added.
They are looking at these major SEO (SEO 101) and Paid Ad issues as new feature requests. Ironically, if you look at their own website, you will see that all these issues that we suffer from are not a problem for them because they have taken care of it for their own site, but for their clients' businesses.
