We have used Linnworks for many years…

We have used Linnworks for many years now. The initial onboarding was a little difficult as this type of system was very new for our staff and company. But the team made it very easy for us to get started. They helps manage our many skus and integrate Woocommerce, Magento 1 & 2, eBay and Amazon. All without any difficulty.

Since then our business has gone from strength to strength and using Linnworks has meant that we could expand in sales without having to get multiple new members of staff to deal with it.

Overall very happy with the level of support received from live chat support, ticket-based support and our dedicated account manager.

A tool like Linnworks is vital for e-commerce businesses but It seems like we picked correctly the first time.

I have been with Linnworks for over a…

I have been with Linnworks for over a year and the software is just amazing for my needs, Yes not everything has been plain sailing but when i reach out the issues have been solved.
Its so nice to have a real person who I can reach out to and Richard has been amazing, Takes time out to look at my business model and what my needs are.
I agree with some of the reviews about cost, this is not the cheapest but having looked at other software
nothing comes close, Linworks just works so well and you have to ask yourself is it worth it for time saved and smooth running.

1. Order management - Perfect lots of automation and shipping rules
2. Inventory - No issues 4 channels interact and update without issue
3. Purchasing - what a breeze - once i set up it is fantastic - and so many options which make my job easier.
4. Remote Printing - I can print to my printer from any where in the world - which is great if i need to support my staff.
5. Editing via CSV - everything can be done via spreadsheet which for me is perfect.
Support - there are many help guides, online chat and they are Uk which is great.

Overall it is the BMW top of the range software for multi inventory , order processing and purchasing
worth the cost.

I have been with 2 other companies and these didn't do what they promised at all
and tried around 4 others and didnt even get past the trial.

Beware potential price promise break!

Blocked annual renewal, says "Please contact us so we can deliver a personalized offer tailored to your company's needs" like the previous poster also have been a subscriber since way back in 2010. CEO promised 3 years without hikes, so will report shortly what they say.

UPDATE:

Like every other customer of Linnworks, we received the CEO promise on 28th May 2019 below, so not only is the "legacy model retirement" in Lucy's response below a breach of contract on a duration basis, it also removes the promised renewal option in year 3 on the old "non-order based model" at no greater that 20% increase.

This is broken commitments on 2 parts. I am waiting to hear back from an "Account Executive" with the proposed solution, but not holding my breath.

Linnworks CEO promise sent to every customer May 2019:

[User-based or order-based. It’s your choice.

As an existing Linnworks customer, you now have the choice to remain on your current ‘user-based’ plan, or move to one of the new ‘order-based’ plans.

1) Stay on your current plan – If you choose to stay on your current ‘user-based’ plan then nothing changes for you, the monthly or annual price and all your product features will be the same. You also have our guarantee that we will maintain your price at the same level for the next two years, with any rise in the third year no greater than 20%.
2) Move to a new ‘order-based’ plan – If you wish to move to one of our new ‘order-based’ plans (see here), then log in to your Linnworks account and select one of the new plans in the subscription page.]

Hi Mike,

We're sorry to hear that you are dissatisfied with the retirement of our legacy plans as we continue to develop the services we offer to our customers. We have maintained the pricing model on legacy plans for many years which required significant investment as our customers usage of the system grew significantly with the acceleration of Total Commerce.

In regards to the new model, we want to stress the tremendous value you will receive from the available features and functions on this plan and the offer still stands for us to discuss the commercials in more detail with your account manager over a call if you would like to do so.

Be Very Very Careful When Bringing Linnworks Into Your Business

Our company has been a Linnworks customer since 2012, nearly a decade. Below are the facts on how Linnworks are currently treating long term customers, by breaching their own published terms and guarantees, putting companies under immense stress.

[Update] We have challenged Linnworks to confirm with a simple yes or no, are they going to adhere to their own terms and CEO published guarantees? Linnworks refuse to answer this question! Linnworks have not refuted any of our claims. As Linnworks have referenced this TrustPilot review in correspondence, we challenge Linnworks to respond here on this platform.

Many will recall the proposed huge Linnworks subscription price hikes back in 2019 to come into effect in Aug/Sept. Due to public reaction, Linnworks backed down and the CEO posted the following:

This post was deleted from the Linnworks website. Perhaps they assumed that the information had not been retained.

Fast Forward to 2021, our subscription was due for renewal on the 18th September, and up to the 16th we had a clearly advertised renewal price of £1,718.56. On the 17th we logged in to pay and renew, to find the screen had been replaced with the following: [Contact sales. Please contact us so we can deliver a personalized offer tailored to your company's needs]

With less than 48 hours notice, Linnworks reneged on their pledges, forcing us to contact them. The fact they breached their own terms (copied below) is of no concern to them. Current Linnworks Terms: [The Supplier shall not less than 30 days before the expiry of the current Subscription Term notify the Customer of any changes to the Charges which the Supplier has calculated will be due for the next Subscription Term].

We were blocked from paying the clearly advertised subscription renewal less than 48 hours prior to the end of the subscription.

On the 23rd September after several emails David Keane (sales director) emailed the following to us: [While your contract was monthly we will of course provide the necessary extension if you are unable to continue and we would be happy to discuss a suitable time for transition as you review the current market and alternate products.] However at this point we had still not been informed of what the new costs would be, so how could a review of the current market be performed?

We finally received a quote on the 27th September - 10 days after blocking our renewal offer, the quote was over a 500% increase, assuming we did not increase sales, which would cost more if we increase sales.

We expected a significant rise in 2022 when the three year pledge expired, and therefore suggested they offer a two year deal, allowing them to consider the unfairness and legality of breaching their own published terms, but still no response.

To say Linnworks actions, especially during a time of great challenge and uncertainty for business, are disappointing, would be an understatement. We have ensured our legal team have been copied in to all correspondence, so will be interesting if Linnworks deny any of our comments.

There a numerous factual inaccuracies in Linnworks correspondence such as claiming we were paying £150 per month in 2012, when we were paying £48 per month up 2017, but at least they do admit in writing, reneging on our renewal offer the day prior to renewal. Harley Dorman from Linnworks wrote: The ability to re-subscribe on your current plan was removed the day before renewal was due, as we no longer offer these plans.

Like other reviewers here, we have never left a negative review for any other business as we understand the challenges of keeping customers happy, and the impact of negative reviews, but due to the clock ticking down on their temporary extension, which we can not trust them to not renege upon yet again, we have been compelled to provide the truth, and allow future customers to make an informed decision before putting their future in Linnworks hands, and hopefully avoid the same treatment.

Fantastic software!

We moved to Linnworks last year from a competitor who we were with for several years.

We couldn't be happier with the software, the price was comparable to what we were paying before but the functionality is significantly more advanced. There is flexibility to add in extremely detailed levels of product data and we were able to customise the order processing to fit our business very nicely.

The only areas that I would say could be improved are around quick visual reporting, as this is a bit limited - but we do all reporting through Excel, and the data is easily available through csv downloads.

It would also be nice to be able to do more via mobile.

It's a small trade off for great software that clearly understands the needs of online retailers.

Superb system that will grow with our business

As an online relatively young business, Linnworks has been a fantastic addition. Once onboarded the system is easy to use with multiple features that enable a smooth system of picking and packing, excellent inventory control and we shall be looking to upgrade to the stock forecasting module shortly. Excellent support from their team here in the UK too. So whilst pricier than other options, there is a lot more functionality than previous softwares we used which will enable us to grow using Linnworks continuously

Is this how you repay customer loyalty?

We have been a loyal Linnworks customer for over 9 years so it came as a shock to us when about a week to our annual renewal they proposed a price increase of 375%.
They went through how they came about the new price - apparently the increase should have been closer to 1000% but taking into account our relationship they applied multiple discounts to arrive at the new price.
This put us in a real fix as a business. I think Linnworks have been unfair to customers like us who have shown them so much loyalty over the years. I understand that they need to increase prices but they should have eased this in for existing customers or given more notice about the price increase to allow us more time to decide what we need to do.
There is also a lack on transparency about this whole process. They no longer shown price plans on their website and we are worried that this will only be the first of many increases if we stay with Linnworks.
Right now we are caught between a rock and a hard place. This is no way to treat long standing customers.

First Time Using a Stock Inventory Management System

We started using Linnworks in May 2021 and as a graduation gown supplier it proved invaluable as it allowed us to integrate with all our systems, look up order details and keep track of stock.
We're still working towards 100% Set Up but our account manager has been very helpful with every question we throw at him.
As a young company it was our first foray into using a stock inventory management system and we chose Linnworks for its adaptability to function for our needs as a niche company. We're glad we did.

Case Study on the Antithesis of a Business Relationship

We were a large and loyal customer of Linnworks for many years until the latest renewal when we were met with old-school sales tactics, endless deception and dishonesty in attempt to bully us into an unfair contract and a cost increase of 450%, initially quoting a 900% increase but 'generously' offering it 'half price' for our loyalty.

Obviously they couldn't blame inflation!

Instead, the entire bare minimum notice period was eaten up by prolonged, endless, nonsense dialogue that they forced us into, designed to simply waste the precious little time we had left to move systems.

Before they would even tell us of price, they even forced us into numerous telephone calls to "learn about our business and plans" (for the first time ever)! Do businesses not normally make their prices public or at least tell you the price when asked? Their pricing was public when we first joined; that is until they moved to the current price discrimination model in an attempt to extract the maximum amount of money from each and every customer.

Following countless phone calls and emails, we finally got the full pricing when it was too late to make a move to a competitor. We rejected their offer but needed more time to move systems. So, for their next trick, they proceeded to quote extortionate fees for slightly extending the contract to allow us time to move. The classic 'rob you when you've no other choice' manoeuvre.

As if the 450% increase wasn't enough for them, they attempted to force us into a one-sided contract, laden with risk for us and full of reward but no risk at all for them. Their new business model and contract offered meant the 450% rise would be the bare minimum we would pay; charging an untold amount if we underachieved the target, and if we overachieved our target.

Win-win for Linnworks, lose-lose for the customer.

The deceptive, dishonest dialogue was delivered by the new "corporate" team including the new, inexperienced CEO (who bought his position), the new CRO, and the new Sales Directors -- all under the guise of "developing a relationship". No mention of what this relationship would entail nor how it would benefit us.

There was never any mention of a relationship during all years we've been with Linnworks prior to this massive price increase. Coincidence?

In reality, the type of relationship the new so-called executives wanted was one that was entirely one-sided, entirely to their benefit and our detriment. Solely to secure the lining of their own pockets for years to come at the expense of their customers' businesses, jobs and livelihoods.

Isn't a relationship supposed to be mutually beneficial?

The very fact that they have a customer-facing 'chief revenue officer' negotiating contracts says it all. Come on, you've slipped-up, I thought you were good at dressing things up!

Linnworks has been transformed by the new CEO and his new recruits, from a friendly company with a start-up vibe and run by the founding developer, to a medium business attempting (but failing) to give the impression that they are a large American corporation -- which they clearly wish to become, either through acquisition or reckless pursuit of profit.

Ask yourself why they cannot offer fair and reasonable prices and contracts, relying on their product to do the talking.

The new owners and their gang have ruined a good company and its reputation, which could have been made better and more profitable through transparency, professionalism and ethicality. It's a shame they have instead opted for out-dated tactics, intimidation, fakery, and short-term vision.

The new management's mantra of so-called 'Total Commerce Control' has shown its true colours.

These newbies are now in total control of the system you use to control your business, and they have no qualms about using that control to manipulate and jeopardise your business and all the livelihoods depending on them.

You would imagine a company that has a monopoly to act this way - not a company whose product is sub-standard, ridden with deficiencies, outages, and, if that's not bad enough, more expensive than their numerous competitors.

Having said that, if you so desire to contribute to the bonuses and salaries of this medium-sized British company's corporate American-mimicking management, including their countless C-levels and Vice Presidents, by all means, join Linnworks.

Oh, and their "Office" in Austin, USA? A rented mailbox.

This is one for the textbooks on how not to do business.

We have been using Linnworks for 7 years now.
Its the best piece of software I have used until this year.

They have clearly taken on more than they can cope with in 2021 and we have been suffering.

So many glitches and speed issues, I don't think we have gone longer than a week without something going down or having several members of staff being unable to work. We are now looking for alternatives as we are getting nowhere with support.

Such a shame as it has been so good in the past.

Loyal LW user - nearly 10 years of use, and couldn't manage without it

We've been using Linnworks for nearly 10 years and we couldn't function as a business without the software and support.
They've helped us grow and the software is always being updated in a fast-moving ecommerce world. In recent times they have made changes for Brexit and added in IOSS support within reasonable timeframes (remembering that nobody knew what was happening until the last minute in each case).
Nothing is perfect, and sometimes glitches can occur but I feel confident that the support team are there for us - whether that be online chat, or a phone call or a support ticket. All problems have always been resolved to our satisfaction, and they are a company that do listen to their customers.
I've attended their Linn Academy live events which give you a chance to meet their staff and developers, and you can see what an amazing effort they make to ensure the software evolves to meet the changing needs of it's user base. I absolutely recommend Linnworks - I remember it being a steep learning curve initially but the time invested was very much worthwhile.

We have just agreed our new pricing plan with Linnworks. We have found the whole process to be extremely fair with the Linnworks team prepared to listen to our concerns as they spent time understanding our business model. We felt that the final plan agreed was a good compromise for both parties in view of what is now a very different E-commerce environment.

The Linnworks system is easy to use and has features which we find vital for the smooth running of our business.

The worst company ever

The worst company ever. Received a email today that the Linnworks community account is no longer supported and they have with immediate effect closed my account. No advance notice or anything just immediate effect.

Better use some other provider as one day they just wake up and and decide we will no longer provide community account when the account was not expired and they simply send a email and close the account.

Not perfect, but the best out of all other available options.

Update: I had a call with Warren.

I would like to admit that I was quick to "judge" and "condemn" after a couple of times linnworks's systems have let us down. Combined with my short fuse, I have rushed to rate the company 1*. My mistake is I should have opened a ticket, and try to work with their team to fix the issues we have. (Whilst I stand by the fact that support is lacking in response times, Warren understands that and they are working on this)

Warren was understanding and acknowledged there is room for improvement and I agree with his statement that Linnworks it's the best you can get at the current time for a all-in-one order&inventory management.

In reality, Linnworks (As a system) is a work in progress, but it will definitely help you manage and ship all your orders ; Along with inventory and listing management (We have had the occasional issue - But no system is perfect)

I have updated this to 5* after the conversation with Warren, as it was a very positive conversation, and I felt like the system's shortcomings are monitored and worked upon.

Hello Christian,

Thank you for providing detailed feedback of your Linnworks experiences. We're happy to see how your company has grown the last years with Linnworks. This makes it even more sad to see Linnworks pop-up in the list of 1-star reviews you've written here on Trustpilot.

Thanks to your responsiveness on my request for your contact details I've managed to find your chat and support ticket and provided a solution for your price update query. Another agent will be in touch soon about further optimizations to your Linnworks setup and answer any questions you may have.

Some areas of improvement are:
- Linking Stock Items with Channels: Whilst the vast majority of your stock items are linked, just about every channel you have integrated with Linnworks has the odd-SKU that has not been linked yet. Unlinked SKU's do not have any price or stock-updates. To make inaccurate stocklevels a thing of the past, please link all necessary SKU's. This linking can be done automatically, saving you time.
- Price Update to Amazon: Whilst the import to remove the sale price was successful, the setting to enable price sync was disabled for your Amazon channel. I've just provided you with instructions on how to do this in your support ticket.
- Price of Linnworks: When there was a new pricing model announced over a year ago, you switched to the new model. With the current number of users you have in the system, you are saving 150 - 200 GBP per month compared to the old pricing you were on. Even on your best selling months, the price you pay for Linnworks has not come close to what it would be should you have stayed on the old pricing with the number of users you have using Linnworks.
- Support: It appears that the chat you refer to was closed by the agent as we did not receive a reply from you. I appreciate there was a bit of delay at the start, of which you were informed. It can happen that you end up in a queue for chat, especially at this time of the year, which is one of the busiest times in the year for e-commerce. It's worth noting that the total time between start and closing of the chat was less than 2 hours, and there was not a 4-hour wait as per your description. We do our best to answer all queries as quickly as possible and at the same time handle every query with care.

I'm sorry to hear that things have not been to your expectation. We have 24/7 support available for everyone and work hard on response rates which are challenged in busy weeks like these. Next to answering your questions here and on the ticket, someone will reach out to you to help you with optimizing Linnworks further. I would regret to see you leave, especially since improving your performance is not that difficult given your strong foundation and setup with Linnworks.

Best regards,
Klaas Schippers

---

Likewise thank you for your quick reply. We have logs of when important settings like this get changed. We see that the price change was disabled at 12/14/2020 at 11:54:10 AM by a user logged-in with your main account e-mail address. That very same user switched the price sync back on at 12/17/2020 at 5:33:31 PM.

Once again apologies for the half hour wait on chat, we're doing our best to improve both speed and quality of the chats.

We will be in touch with you regarding the other point in your system which we saw could use optimization.

Have a great evening!
