This is just a brilliant concept and the kids love receiving the box, making the recipes and of cause eating what they have made.

Recipes were fun, you have to grab some fresh ingredients but it was only an extra £6 for the fresh stuff

We have both received and given the Little Cooks subscription as presents and they have been universally adored across an age range of 6-13 yr olds. We've learnt all about new types of ingredients (chickpea flour; understanding that flax seeds & water can replace eggs as a binding material), and followed nutritious and inventive recipes which culminate in delicious end products. We've also found that it's all the little extras which make the arrival of the monthly package through the letterbox - stickers, fun dinner-time cards, additional recipes, seeds to plant & grow etc - so magical. The whole thing is beautifully designed and packaged too. I couldn't recommend Little Cooks more. What a brilliant idea!

This is an wonderful subscription service to have monthly baking activities with my child. Although my child is a fussy eater, he usually eats a lot of what we bake together! The included extra activities such as crafts and gardening are lovely, too.

Little cooks is a fantastic subscription option. It teaches children valuable things about cooking, nutrition and mindfulness. A truly unique gift for any child. We highly recommend.

Loved loved loved these boxes. As health conscious foodies my children and I love the fact the ingredients are organic and nutrient dense and the recipes are white sugar, gluten and dairy free and vegan friendly. I am passionate about educating my children on healthful choices and for them to enjoy lovely treats without the usual junk found in many kids snacks is so refreshing. Particularly love all the thoughtful extras like the packet of seeds, additional recipe cards, fun nutrition facts and stickers.
Fully compostable packaging, no waste and a true message of supporting young children’s creativity and love for being in the kitchen.

We got three boxes before we stopped and it's telling that two of them have sat here for months. We did the heart shaped tarts when they arrived and I had similar experience to the other reviews here. The website doesn't state that these are vegan, gluten free, no sugar...
We did the custard tarts at the weekend, the custard is what I imagine war time cooking was like with rations. No eggs, no cream no sugar. Very bland and weird consistency. Educationally poor too. If someone asked my child what was in custard she would not have a clue, just a load of powders and milk? It also falls short of trade descriptions, custard by definition/law must have eggs used to thicken. This gloppy non-newtonian liquid can only be describe as crème pâtissière (at a push).
Environmentally poor. So many plastic bags of dry ingredients - just for us to pour them all into one bowl. Why not just put them in one bag? I can imagine that LC thinks this will diminish perceived value, in which case at least consider adding a sentence to the sticky labels about what each ingredient is doing.
Like others have said doing the recipes has been fraught and overwrought. I think that they could be written better, but I also realised that we were jumping through hoops and following convoluted instruction to make vegan, gluten free, no sugar imitations of recipes. That is not what I thought I'd signed up for.
We've had much better and easier results just using a recipe by the likes of Delia or Jamie. This is better educational value too because you can engaged your child in number work weighting, or measuring, the ingredients. Failing that, it's better value, end result, and education value to just get a Betty Crocker mix as and when you want.

Great recipes. Children love to bake their own puddings.

My granddaughter and I had a lot of fun with the Summer School Cooking over the holiday.
We especially enjoyed making treats for her Mum, who can’t have gluten or dairy, so often misses out on special things. But with the instructions and suggestions for alternatives products we were able to do some brilliant treats.

Great recipes that are healthy and make you think about alternatives to refined sugar etc. My daughter loves cooking the recipes.

Love the kits, so does my little boy! He runs to the door and is so excited to open them. I then constantly get asked when we can bake 😄

My grandson loves his Little Cooks boxes!
At just 3 years old he cannot manage all of the baking process himself but he loves cutting open the ingredients sachets; sieving; pouring; mixing; whisking; spreading; decorating and, of course, licking and tasting everything.
All of the boxes have produced delicious and healthy treats!

My 6yr old has LOVED the boxes. I’ve been so impressed with the contents and thought that has gone into them.
I’ve had to contact customer services recently and they have been awesome. A real insight into the values of a company are when things go wrong; I honestly couldn’t have excepted or wanted a better interaction.
They deserve the 5 stars for both the product and their customer service :)

I have two beautiful granddaughters and I signed up for a 1 year subscription each. The team at little cooks ensured there was a period between each child receiving their kit. This worked brilliantly and they loved making treats they enjoyed eating. Well worth a go if you are thinking about it.
