Awful

I ordered a TWF 33” bodyboard (£26.99) on a Friday evening and paid £4.95 for 1st class postage. The item arrived the following Friday which was too late for our holiday.
This company uses Hermes who are awful as you can never speak to anyone and Holly the virtual assistant is useless. Little Surfers’ 1st customer service lady was not helpful and said I would definitely get it by Thursday. When I still didn’t receive the item, the 2nd lady was more helpful but unfortunately she said “ when it comes to Hermes , we know as much as you do” which was that the item was sitting at the Hermes depot for the last 3days and there was no way she could contact the depot/ get their information so I could collect directly from there. So, despite Little Surfers having a contract with Hermes, they cant actually communicate with them, and once the item has left their business, it is at the unreliable hands of Hermes ( which technically is their responsibility as they have a contract with Hermes, and not mine for chasing things up) Anyways, I have to take it to the postoffice and pay minimum £3.00 for returns.
They do say they don’t guarantee delivery, but when you pay for 1st class and it arrives a week later, that’s just pathetic.
I like to support small businesses, but in this case, save yourself the hassle, order from Amazon, exactly the same item with free one-day/next day delivery costs and only £0.01 more expensive .
More than the cost, it was the hassle, chasing both Hermes and Little Surfers, worrying whether I would get the item in time for our holiday, that I really could have done without.
