My experience:

It took Mr Pike and Livingstone Brown 7 years to submit a form for the Redress and Criminal Injuries.

7 years of waiting and creating an almost unbearable mental strain, on an already mentally vulnerable person.

7 years of stress, inconvenience, and mental damage, and lost opportunities.

Thousands of pounds lost, had I received compensation at an earlier date.

I took my complaint to the Scottish Legal Complaints Commission: their response: The law firm should not apologise, no reduction in fees for anything, even symbolically for things Livingstone Brown had charged me twice for, and a compensation figure of £1.04 a week. (Or a sum of £350)

The SCLL found 29 months of no work whatsoever, including one period of when there was 12 months when no work whatsoever was done on my case.

In response to the SCLL I wrote a 24 page 8,200 word response, pointing out their errors. The complaints board response: I know you are not happy but I am satisfied. And she refused to alter one word of her worthless report.

10 months into the Scottish Legal Complaints Commission I lost faith and gave up on the complaints process. It was too traumatic dealing with pernicious staff at the SCLL. It was making me ill and causing me to become unbalanced.

Despite having a great of information from day one at Livingstone Brown, I'm now 10 years on, waiting for an outcome with criminal injuries.

In the end LB issued me an apology and dropped all of their fees. £4,000

Nevertheless, the process of trying to access a government compensation scheme has been 1000% worse than any abuse I received. 1000% worse as sexual abuse happened once, on some occasion, but I've had the last 10 years, so far, with no closure. Due to Livingstone Brown delays.

If you too would like years and years and years and years and years and years and years and years of delays, by Livingstone Brown and then to be treated like shit by the unaccountable sclll, this is the law firm for you.

I was put in contact with these guys through an online link with regards to historic violent abuse as a child in children's homes. I was put in touch with a lady called Charmaine, who was amazing with me every step of the way. Charmaine was in contact often keeping me updated on the case, she helped me with my statements and evidence while being very professional and caring. In the end I was awarded compensation, which I could never have imagined or achieved without the help of Charmaine. I 100% recommend these guys to anyone in a similar situation.

From the outset Charmaine was very helpful, the process I had to endure took a very long time due to resolve but I always felt listened to and supported. Charmaine's diligence and tenacity was immense, she never let up in fighting my corner and was always available. I cannot express my gratitude enough.

Kevin Pike and his team were amazing. Contacted them nearly a year ago after the police failed to investigate my case against my ex and I couldn’t have asked for a better team to help. Kevin was really compassionate and would regularly keep in contact with me to let me know what was happening and helped me obtain compensation from the miss handled case and my ex. Would highly recommend him and his team.

Worst lawyers to deal with. Kevin Pike did not inform me of my court date. I made another appointment to see him. When I walked in he said we lost the case and you owe £7,000. I honestly nearly fainted. I did not even know when the court date was. Like other reviews have stated all they are interested in is the Legal Aid or any other form of money they can get. They leave you sitting for over half an hour after your appointment time. No respect for their clients. I would never ever recommend them to anyone. I had already left a review but it disappeared therefore I am updating my review just to warn anyone thinking of dealing with them. Please Don't

I am a single father who had lost my partner my two kids mother well I went with this firm in 2023 I had asked for a dna with my son because my name wasnt on his birth certificate I lost my doughter grew a hearing when they could have done better and but it looks like to mr they just wanted to do it for the money as were I have asked for appeals and geuse what they didnt I am left to not have my kids and mostly at my doughters hearing they didnt bring up everything but it shows you i am sick to the back teeth now i dont know if anyone else is seeing and feeling the same because thats how this firm works the way i see it they font get you appeals iv to just sit back just like a roaster no chance

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!
ABSOLUTELY USELESS - they take on TOO MANY CASES, talk a good game to get the business and then don’t even read the evidence until the 11th hour; missing crucial evidence, pleading the case completely wrongly, jeapordising all chances of success. When you complain - because they have absolutely no defence for their lack of efficiency, professionalism and organisation - they then ‘drop the case’ entirely!!!! …at the 11th hr leaving you with no time to find alternative representation…citing issues and problems with the client (not themselves) …8’ spite of every shred of evidence being submitted on time and and in meticulous detail. An absolute SHAMBLES of a company; taking taxpayers money (via legal aid) for losing cases and causing already distressed and severely ‘at risk’ clients untold levels of additional anxiety( in some cases losing them their life savings and liveliehoods. UTTERLY APALLING !!!
