This site is awful, but exactly what I expect from UHC
While we don't verify specific claims because reviewers' opinions are their own, we may label reviews as "Verified" when we can confirm a business interaction took place. Read more

I have tried to submit claims under secondary insurance. I've tried mailing them in, faxing them, and emailing through their help system. When I call reps to get answers, they cannot access the message system nor find my claims. I end up having to submit the claim several times. If I fax it in, they can't read it. If I send in a PDF, it is too long. If I mail it in, they say they didn't receive it. I'm not sure if there is a strategy to delay claims but submitting claims under secondary insurance is very difficult. In addition when I set up this insurance as secondary under the coordination of benefits dept, the coding was messed up and neither of my insurance companies paid the claims for 4 months. The response I get from the message system is always from the same person Lisa N. and my questions are never fully addressed.
Website can only link to one company forever.
This company handled mental health for a company I was laid off from almost 6 years ago. Now they handle the claims for a Medicare plan I have. But they are linked to my old company. About 5 months ago someone got the link changed to my current plan and I could access my claims. But somehow my old company is set in stone and the link is back to them. I can no longer access my current claims because no one there knows how change that linkage. Someone forgot to tell their programmers that liveandworkwell.com works with more than one company/plan and that people can move from one to another.
They are slow to pay claims, if at all. I have submitted multiple copies of same claims to both their po box numbers. They claim they do not have them. This has been over a three month period. They are very inefficient.
Website doesn't work. Representatives are misinformed and confused. They told me my claim has been denied but they don't have access to the claims, no communication, no notification of process whatsoever.
I contacted them four times to get answers regarding insurance coverage and the acceptance of some billing codes.
In two of the four conversations, I was connected to friendly and empathic representatives. However, only one of them was able to answer my questions competently. The other representative promised to call back but never did.
In the other two cases, unfortunately, I got connected to two rude, impatient, and unfriendly representatives. One suddenly hung up and did not call back.
