I'm sorry but LL Bean like so many other similar companies have an aura about themselves that their merchandise is some one of a kind. Everything is imported and really just a step above discount chai... See more

Your stuff is overpriced anyway but if you can’t stand up to advocate for our national forests… I will never purchase another item from your company again. And i am spreading this message to my friends and many groups for them to join me in boycotting a cowardly company. I will speak with my purse.
Formaldehyde on LL Bean denim products?
Bought 2 pair of dark blue denim jeans from LL Bean and have a rash and itchy skin at the waist when I wear them. Have since read that LL Bean uses formaldehyde as a finish on some of their denim products.
Product quality has dropped sharply
Product quality has dropped sharply. Cotton products have more polyester added and pill badly quite quickly. Shirt collars fray or disintegrate after a few months. Used to be terrific, but no more.
What crap quality these days
What crap quality today - no wonder they replaced their lifetime warranty with a one year warranty. Never again will I buy any of their cheaply made, overpriced merch.

Relying on what I recall as LLBean's reputation for quality merchandise, I ordered two pair of pj's and a pair of pants. Total disappointment -- horrible quality. And the fit is totally off. Both pair of pj's are the same size, but one is snug, the other large. Made in Vietnam and material is not at all what was advertised. NEVER again! Please read reviews before ordering from here.
Another VERY upset customer…Poor Quality, Not Worth the Mondy
I guess I join many being very dissatisfied with the quality! I live in the northeast and made many trips to the Main store (before there were outlets). This company advertised and were very proud of their durability and quality. Items wore and fit well, maintained shape, lasted forever…unless you got sick of the color. I stopped buying about 5-6 years ago because I placed an order for a tshirt I had always liked…even through the price was double. They arrived and were awful…out of shape, my regular size was very large and too long, one sleeve was sewn incorrectly. This year I received a gift certificate. Since I couldn’t use it anywhere else, I ordered a Barn Coat because it was a color I liked that they haven’t had in a while. It was almost $200. The color is slightly off but OK, sizing is, again, too large, and it’s not even lined, just raw canvas that looks frayed at the seams. Hope I don’t get that as a gift anymore.

LLBean credit card reneged on my over $400 in Bean Bucks. Stay away from the LLBean credit card. LLBean was not able to help either.
I bought an expensive down jacket
I bought an expensive down jacket. Owned it for four years and have barely worn it since I am in Florida for winters.
The quality stinks. I have 3 cuts from lightly passing by ‘something’ that caused them. Down is flying all over. I went to the original store where I bought the jacket. I did not ask for a refund just a discount to buy another.
The store manager refused citing the rule: since the cuts are not on seams they will do nothing to help. I then called their customer service directly. The reply was the same but I was told I could patch it up. Great!! I can patch a 275.00 down jacket!! Give me a break.
I will never buy anything at LL Bean again and I have been a customer for many, many years. I can still remember when the quality of their clothes was great. Now the quality stinks, and their customer service is really bad.

Made in the USA!
Love my tote back! Love that it is made in the USA and comes with a note who made it, thanks Amber!
I bought two lightweight long vests a…
I bought two lightweight long vests a few years ago and loved the fit but noticed the zippers were fragile. Other than that, these have worn well and are a perfect weight for their intended purpose. The only reason the zippers still work is because I handle them with kid gloves. I also bought a winter coat around 5 years ago that was not cheap and the zipper on it has already worn out. I live in a mild winter area and don't use this coat regularly since it is heavy. The coat has plenty of wear left in it and the only reason I can still use it is if I use the snaps.
Getting back to the lightweight vests I have, I got an email from LLBean today advertising that they have their outerwear on sale and it showed my lightweight vests from a few years ago as being on sale. When I clicked to look at the fine print, they were only discounting a red one and the regular price on this these items was 180.00 in the color I wanted. (I dislike bait and switch) I wanted another black one because it is the color I wear the most and my black one gets a lot of wear. I also read the reviews of others who complained about the zippers, and also complained about the fact that they have redesigned the vest and they want the old style back. So not only have they raised the price but they changed something that apparently a lot of people like. I have gone through the same thing with other companies, particularly cosmetic lines that change a product and not for the better. I decided if I need another lightweight black vest I can take my chances with Amazon at a much lower price. It's all imported anyway.
Great legacy company true to its quality roots.
Have been using LL Bean products for about 40 years. I have had my LL Bean Duck boots rebuilt 3x and always have had great experience.
Have purchased a few items that didn't like or quality seemed off - they make returns so easy.
Highly recommend.
Ordered a fitted sheet for $70
Ordered a fitted sheet for $70. Thought I would be getting a top and bottom sheet and two pillowcases, which is the normal. I received only a bottom sheet. What are you supposed to do with a bottom sheet? I guess they want you to call and order the top sheet and the pillowcases and pay them again.
One very simple thing
One very simple thing, the store associate Nick. I was greeted with respect and a sincerity. Nick was on a mission to make my experience as pleasant as possible and see to it that I got what I needed. Suffice it to say, he succeeded. This was my first time in their store but certainly not my last.
Unresolved disability access issues
I endured disability access issues with LLBean. After notifying them that my disability prevents telephone use, they directed me to call. I’ll be filing a formal complaint with the Maine Human Rights Commission. Time for another boycott?
Really do stand by there products.
Really do stand by there products.
I am 58
I am 58. Been buying/wearing LL Bean since I was a teenager. I returned two pair of pants as they were small. Even though I ordered my usual size. It was almost a $200 order. I received a "credit card" so I could buy something else. WHAT?! Is this legal? Being forced to buy things with a credit even though I do not want anything else. A TERRIBLE policy. Shame on you. Your founder is rolling in his grave.
We will cancel our LL Bean credit card.
Consistent sizing
I have recently received a flannel shirt XL Tall. I have purchased a ton of products over these many years. I have been very impressed with the consistency of your sizing. No matter what I purchase, it fits me spot on. Thank you!
The plucked chicken parka experience
I received a Baxter State Parka as a Christmas gift a few years ago, and it constantly leaked down and feathers all over my shirts and sweaters —front, back and sleeves, so I never wore it much… I usually just wear stuff from Columbia that is just as well made. This year, I decided to try to get the parka repaired through LL Bean, and while all my interactions with their employees were good, after sending it back to them, I received word that they couldn’t find any repairable issue outside of normal down leakage, so they are just sending it back to me… I still love the Bean boots, but this company is definitely NOT what it once was which, honestly, is why I ever did business with them in the first place. Aside from the boots, I won’t be buying anything from this brand any more… I’m even getting rid of my LL Bean credit card, which I had just applied for, because what’s the point, really? I wouldn’t tell anyone not to shop LL Bean, but I WOULD advise people not to buy from them if you’re expecting the former level of customer care… I can walk around looking like a half plucked chicken whenever I wear their parka because they don’t create products or care about their customers like they used to, so be aware of that when you purchase.
Excellent Service
I shopped at your Mechanicsburg, PA store today, looking for a pair of jeans appropriate for my age and style. A young lady named Maio listened to my preferences, then checked both the floor and the storeroom. Maio found three possibilities, one of which I purchased. It is unusual to receive this level of service and I wish to recognize and thank Maio.
Worst customer service ever!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Even supervisors hang up over and over if you start recording them. Ask to file a complaint against other customer service reps and you'll be calling back because they'll hang up for that also. This company used to pride itself on customer service and now they're the absolute worst of the worst. Shame on them and I look forward to hearing of their offshoring or customer service soon!
