Awful service. Charged £210 to replace a key and then took two days to do the job. Key ended up breaking less than a month later, they wouldn’t take responsibility. So I’ve had to pay my dealership to do it again. Avoid it all costs.

I had a terrible experience.

I was locked out of my house. My phone battery was dying so I quickly googled an emergency local locksmiths near me, and I found Local Locksmith 4 u.

I called the quote line, and asked for a quote. They would not give me one. They said they had to assess the issue, and then the price. The unlock price on their website was from £79.00
I said ok, and the locksmith came out within the 25 minutes.
Then he said that it would cost £180.00 to unlock the door as he had to drill it.
I was like shocked. I still went ahead, as I had to get in.
ok, so I said how much to replace the lock?
He said the lock would cost £239. And i was like, what??
So I said ok, thinking ok, if that's what a good lock costs.
Then he said there would be a call our fee of £59.00
Right, so I was getting worried. But really had to proceed as I needed to secure the house. Then I paid by Credit card - total of £567.60 including VAT.
I was horrified that it had cost so much. I was finally inside, however.
It still seemed ridiculous - so I did some research once i had access to my computer - i asked for a quote from a similar company.

They said - no call out fee, unlocking would be maximum - £120.00 and the lock replacement from £50.00 for the cheapest lock.

I was shocked at the difference in price!!
Basically they had used the emergency situation:
a) to not give me a quote until after they had come out, so if i called another locksmith, it would be minimum another 30mins.
b) overcharge me ridiculously. They fitted an ERA night latch - £49.99 at most shops online, and charged me £239.00

Feel fleeced and very angry indeed. DO NOT USE at any cost.
