My elderly parents both in their late 80's who live in Sheffield came across this plumber advertising as a LOCAL PLUMBER. Their company is in Manchester and they just resource local plumbers and charge horrendous hourly rates.
They fitted a like for like shower which could have been purchased in any shop for £171.94, so I doubt they would have paid that price. No change to pipe work whatsoever and presented them with a bill for £777.40 in total. This was suppose to have included an OAP hourly discount.
The shower pressure is not as powerful and the stopcock constantly has to be monitored for leaks, but I doubt my parents will be getting in touch. Complete RIP-OFF.
I did try having a conversation with the brother and sister team who run the business on my parents behalf just to be told that due to the current circumstances they were looking to putting their prices up as they were working at a loss.
Please get yourself a proper plumber in the first place and not somebody who these two find for you and take a massive cut for doing very little.

Had a problem with my hot water so went on the internet and found what I thought was a local plumber in Lincoln as the number looked like a Lincoln number.then what happens is you get transferred to a call centre in Stockport where a nice man says he can get a plumber out to you today but there is a £45 registration fee, then they phone around Lincoln till they find a plumber who can come out to see you. Plumber came out , diagnosed the problem ,ordered the part and came back 2 days later and fixed the problem, fantastic or so I thought. Then what happens is Local plumbers we care charge you £150 an hour and a 300% mark up on parts. Job ended up costing me £414 , if I had contacted the local plumber myself I could have got the job done for half the price. I thought I was wise to these sort of scams but fell for it. You live and learn, what this company do is not illegal just devious.

Do not use this company, they will take your money without authorisation then avoid your calls. I paid £50 for them to come out, they came and made the problem worse & told me they couldn't fix it because they didn't have the right equipment. They then took a further £186 without authorisation, including £36 for parts that never made it off the van. Terrible company!

Please don't make the mistake I made and read the reviews on here before you book them. This is a national franchise company masquerading as a local family business - It certainly is not! In my case it was Stockport Plumbers We Care but the modus operandi is the same. The first thing you should be aware of is the upfront £48 non-returnable booking fee which I was happy to pay because I was told I would get a same day call out. Having taken my money they then rang me to say the engineer couldn't come so it would be have to be the following day. You don't have to be Sherlock Holmes to suspect they knew this when they took my money. In addition to this they definitely are not clear and upfront with their pricing. In my case after being told I had settled my £402 invoice and there was nothing more to pay I was called the next day with an additional £150 bill for labour. Overall they must have been at my property for an hour and half at the most to fit a new bath tap and a fan for my boiler - basic 'In and Out' replacements - and the total overall cost was a mind blowing, extortionate £600. To put it into context British Gas would charge approximately £300. I will never ever use this company again whatever the emergency and would warn anyone considering using them to be very very careful. Caveat Emptor - Buyer beware.

charged me for work that wasn’t carried out when I reported know work was carried out they agreed but then automatically took payment once I got off the phone from the card details I gave when paying a booking fee. Absolute disgusting behaviour and borderline illegal discrace!!

Do not use, I called them out in a hurry,they told me the rate was £75 per half hour, the work took 10 minutes, they then charge me £150 plus £48 call out charge telling me they charge by the hour minimum. So their rate isn't by the half hour but by the hour, I live in Leeds and looked for a Leeds phone number when booking them to be told after the event they are Manchester based even though they've got a 0113 phone number. They took my card details when I first called them out for the call out charge and they used them again for for my second payment which I would have refused to pay. The plumber that arrived was great and did the work required in 10 mins, he was local and I should think he would of been much cheaper if I had, just called him myself. DON'T GET TAKEN IN BY THIS FIRM.

Paid £48 ‘booking fee’ for a plumber that never arrived. After a full week of pestering somebody did finally turn up. I was charged £135 to be told a part was faulty and needed replacing. A part was allegedly ordered but three weeks later no contact.

This operation is very dubious. I was never told how much anything would cost, but money is just taken from my card without consent or agreement. The company was supposed to be local, yet the place I rang was 50 miles away, and the plumber when he did bother to turn up, came from over 40 miles.

Disappointed. Made an appointment for next day and paid a nonrefundable booking fee of £48 then nothing, no contact for a week. Still haven't heard from them.

Disgusting company. Told me "booking fee" £48 goes towards cost of service. Boiler booked in for service and repair. Repair needed, they would've charged £120+VAT per hour. He was here 30 mins and they wanted to charge a full hour as per their terms and conditions (absolute joke). Ended up costing me £123 for a 30 minute visit where nothing was done, only inspected.

I would agree with Issy in another review of this company. I phoned this company as advertised as a “Local family run business in Cardiff.” Told I would need to pay a £40 booking fee. Told that it was then £62 per half hour on top and my stuck flush would be sorted at the end. Told plumber carried parts. The plumber came and took a few photos over about 15 min and said he couldn’t do the job as had no parts. He would not come back to do the job as he was “just a number” for the company. He would inform the company. They rang me to charge me £62.50 for having the plumber “diagnose the problem” which appears to be “scrap the toilet and buy new one” just for a stuck flush (toilet is only 3 years old). They offered to reduce my future labour charges by 10%. They had been unable to source parts for my toilet (despite me telling them the precise shop I had bought the toilet in). This was a red flag as the shop the toilet was bought from by my previous plumber is a national well respected chain. Local plumbers not only charged me £40 for the privilege but further VAT on top (not agreed on the telephone) of the administration fee. This is not a local family run company based in Cardiff as their website suggests. They are a scam franchise and you get put through to call centre in Stockport/Manchester. They lie to you on their website and on the phone and the plumbers are unable to fulfill the promises. Go with your own local recommendations from friends and family for a truly local plumber and do not be scammed like me.

Dreadful company that sources local plumbers, many of whom are not well qualified and charges extortionate prices for simple jobs.

Save yourself their 'booking fee' and just call someone off Checkatrade yourself.

This is a call center, not a plumber, they just send you a plumber, and you end up paying them, it's not worth doing just ring a plumber !!!!!!!!!!!!

Excellent service. Came exactly at the agreed time, did a good job, and charged the agreed payment. Phone contact really helpful and efficient too. Really good staff - excellent experience.
