This site is incredibly useful
This site is incredibly useful- we used it to help when we were moving house and were looking for a primary school. The information is incredibly detailed but easy to follow and it made comparing the schools very easy. I’d definitely recommend using it if you’re moving or have a choice of schools to send your kids to.

Extremely useful and easy to use.
Extremely useful when making important decisions like school applications, even more so when you're new to an area as you can easily see and compare all the schools in your catchment area (and actually figure out where the catchment area is!).
This service was paramount in helping me make my primary school decisions.
Easy to sign up and cancel when you no longer need the service.

I found Locrating really helpful as a parent
I found Locrating really helpful as a beginner is school searching and new to the British school system. It really encompasses most of the features a parent needs to decide on a school e.g. offsted results, catchments area, filter options e.g. private or not, age group, etc.
I am missing 2 very important features and they are a biggy personally for me:
1. I can't select 2 age groups e.g. I'd like all school that have nursery and primary school and that would be important because I'm looking for a school where my child can transition without changing school
2. There are also specifics I look at in a school e.g. do they teach foreign languages and musical instruments, do they have after school care. Only when I called the school did I find out that they didn't have ASCC.
Otherwise it's quite a robust and very helpful system.

1) This can be done, albeit not perfectly; setting the age range filter to "nursery" shows both nurseries and schools that have nurseries. They have different icons; so you can easily see which are the schools. It's not perfect as it shows nurseries as well, which you are not interested in, but it does at least remove all schools that don't have nurseries. I hope that helps.
2) For secondary schools we show subjects taken so you can indeed see all the languages they teach, this is not published for primary schools however, nor is after school care or music teaching. We're only able to work with data that is available for all (or most) schools, as soon as it becomes individual school specific research we have to stop there; this is because are 30,000+ schools on our site and we simply don't have the resources to go through all their websites manually checking for which languages/music instruments they teach etc. (assuming that is even on their websites) and further ensuring this is all kept up to date. Of course, we could employ a team of people to do that work, but then the memberhship cost would have to rise very siginifcantly to pay for those people!

i signed up for the paid subscription to check parents feedback on independent school but as these werent available, i asked for a refund and was promptly refunded. Genuine website run by genuine people.

It's help was immeasurable!
This App is a must if you want to better understand schools, & find a place to rent/ buy in the catchment area. My husband raves about it to everyone! I recommend anyone moving to a new area to use it... we are from South Africa & it's help was immeasurable!

Exactly what you need when moving and looking for schools
Really, really straightforward to use with helpful introductory document. Would be useful to see exactly where you search location was (with a dot or something?), but we quickly figured out it was the dead centre of the map.
Overall, excellent. Excited to continue using it as we look both for a new house and a school for our daughter.

With regards to your comment re: the search location. There is an option under Menu->Settings called "Add Home Location Marker To Map After Each Search"; when turned on, this will place a marker on the map in the search location, which means you can then move the map around without losing track of this spot (you can also measure distances from this spot to schools).

Easy to use and lot of information. Worth to parents
Locrating is easy to use and provide lot of school, rental and crime informations in one place. It helps parent to save time to filter right school and make our life easier.
Monthly subscription model make it reasonable to use from time to time. An email notification will be sent in advance before charge. Not a lot of app will do that.
It would be great if the website can be further speed up. But it won't affect the user experience.
