Extremely disappointed experience with loganair
Extremely disappointed experience with loganair
I was given incorrect information by loganair regarding how many bottles of whisky I was allowed to carry, which caused unnecessary stress at the airport.
At Islay Airport, there was a clearly displayed sign stating:
“7 bottles (70cl) or 5 litres allowed in 1 hold bag.”
The wording explicitly refers to one hold bag, which naturally implies that each checked bag may contain up to seven 70cl bottles.
To comply with this policy, I even asked the check-in staff at Glasgow airport before the departure, I was told that the limit was indeed seven bottles per checked bag. Based on this information, I paid for an additional checked bag so that I could legally carry my remaining three bottles.
However, when checking in for my return flight, I was told that the limit was actually five litres per passenger, regardless of the number of checked bags. My additional bag was therefore useless, despite the fact that I had paid for it specifically to comply with the instructions I had been given.
As a result, I was forced to leave behind three bottles of whisky worth approximately £500.
Customers should not lose hundreds of pounds because of contradictory information provided by the airport and its staff. I sent multiple complaints to Loganair and I never get any answer! This situation was avoidable and poorly handled, I would not expect this level of misinformation from a local airline.

Customer service just don’t respond
I have not even flown yet and I am deeply concerned. I had a large amount of emails stating that my flight time had changed. All say different times. I was asked to confirm the changes but before I did that I wanted to clarify what I was confirming.
I had been emailed by their customer service so I just asked in response. Heard nothing back, received a second email telling me I had not responded so I explained again and tried to forward the first response too. I then received an automated response telling me the ticket was closed.
I have submitted a complaint through the complaint form on the website but have still not heard back. I have no idea what is happening and the short trip I had planned has now taken so much time and energy.

DON’T use this airline.
Don’t use this airline.
Changed our flights so we had to leave on the day of my friends 60th birthday, that was the reason for the trip.
Cost over £1000 for two of us to fly with this joke of an airline.
Emailed Custer Services on January 19th, they just emailed back, July 30th and didn’t even have the decency to apologise for the delay in response, just said in accordance with EC261/2004 there’s nothing we can do about it.
Severe Compensation delays
I’d start by saying that any staff member I’ve actually spoken to has been very pleasant, but the responsiveness of Loganair’s claims handling team is abysmal.
My flight was delayed for four hours in March and I submitted a compensation claim (for over £200) the next day. Over four months later, and despite multiple follow ups, I’ve had no response. Customer services state that it is a different team who handle these claims, and there is no contact line for them. They state that this team are dealing with a backlog and it isn’t possible to say how long cases are taking to process.
Surely this is the point at which a business hires temporary staff or redistributes work to clear a backlog? Or at least updates their website, or automatic replies to provide some more information.

If I could give less than 1 star
If I could give less than 1 star, I would. If you are unfortunate enough to need this airline (as not many airlines fly to Scotland), prepare yourself to receive the worst customer service ever. And if you are unlucky enough to lose your luggage, that would be a shame. They don’t answer their phone, or email and expect you to pay for delivery of your luggage which THEY LOST. Honestly, I’ve never experienced this level of shameful service, ever!

Edinburgh to Southampton with my 6 year…
Edinburgh to Southampton with my 6 year old granddaughter.
The cabin crew were so caring for her and gave her a colouring set.
The female cabin crew were also very engaging throughout.
This sets Loganair apart from BA (who we flew up with)..
Thanks, you made our flight wonderful.

Awful Customer Service
I booked a flight with Loganair during the sale period in March 2026 however there was no place to apply the TARTAN17 discount on the app during the sale period. As per the website I completed a complaint form also in March and another one in April and June due to no response.
I rang customer service 27th July who basically said there was nothing they could do to help. I thought Gotogate was the worst customer service ever but Loganair are definitely up there.

Best flight in a long time.
What an amazing experience I had flying form Manchester international Airport(MAN) to isle of man (IOM) on 17/07/26. Got to the airport and wasn't hard at all to fined the check in desk check in was nice and quick probable taken around 2 minuets security also nice and quick. Information on the gate was show around 40 mints before departer although we did have to catch a bus to the plane which is always a bit annoying but got a good view of some planes when we got to the plane we had to wait for the passengers in rows 1-10 to bored first but I think that was because of weight distribution got on to the plane and was greeted by a lovey fight attendant and got into my seat I was very suppressed to see only tow flight attendees on the plane never seen the before. very empty flight so as soon as every one was on the plane we could go and ended up leaving around 5 MINETS EARLEY which all ways nice to see. Taxi was very short and as soon as we got to the runway we where of when we got to are cruising altitude we where given a free snack and some water it was also nice that you aren't allowed to drink alcohol on the fight so there where no drunk people on the fight. Then about 35 minuets later we where on the ground and got to are gate in no time then the worst part happened. We got to are gate and then where wating for stairs to attach to the plane not really shore why because the plane we where on had got stairs already on so I fell like that is a bit pointless and also we had to wait for half the bags to get of first before we could get of I think that was because of wright distribution but then let of the plane and on are way. Loganair is by far my favourite airline for domestic flights don't use EasyJet or Ryanair use Loganair best experience on an airline in a long long time thanks Loganair for such a good time.

I rarely leave negative reviews, but my experience with Loganair has been disappointing from start to finish.
On 21 January 2026, I was travelling on a single Loganair booking from Aberdeen to Exeter via Manchester (Flights LM0021 and LM0371).
The delay to the Aberdeen flight caused me to miss my onward connection. No suitable same-day alternative was available, leaving me with little choice but to arrange my own transport in order to reach my destination.
I submitted a claim, supported by receipts and the relevant flight details, expecting a straightforward review.
Instead, I waited more than six months for a response.
When Loganair finally replied, they declined my claim, arguing that because I had made my own onward travel arrangements, they were not responsible for the costs I incurred. I fundamentally disagree with that position and have asked the airline to reconsider.
Delays happen. Every airline experiences operational problems from time to time. What distinguishes a good airline is how it looks after its passengers when those problems occur.
Sadly, my experience has been one of poor communication, an excessive delay in dealing with a legitimate claim, and a refusal to accept responsibility for the consequences of the disruption.
As a result, I have lost confidence in Loganair. I will not be travelling with them again and will instead choose airlines that demonstrate a stronger commitment to customer care when things go wrong.
I will update this review if Loganair revisits my claim or resolves the matter fairly.
Logan Air Cancelled my Return Flight…
Logan Air cancelled my return flight from Newcastle to Southampton on 25/07/2026 with less than two hours notice. I had previously flown from Southampton to Newcastle with them to attend my cousin’s funeral. This was an already difficult, emotionally draining time and I was relying on Logan Air to get me home quickly and quietly. I received an automated notification that my return flight was cancelled as I arrived at Newcastle Airport having just driven for 2 hours to get there. There was no assistance provided from Logan Air and with no other flights that day I was left to find alternative travel arrangements. What made it worse for me that my flight was cancelled with less than two hours notice and this is nowhere near enough time to make realistic alternative plans, especially after a funeral when you’re exhausted and vulnerable. I wasn’t offered a workable alternative or any meaningful assistance. I was effectively abandoned at the airport to “sort it out myself.”
In order to get home I had to extend my hire a car and drive for six hours to get home. That’s six hours on the road after an emotionally heavy day, plus the unexpected expense of the car hire, fuel, and the additional toll on my wellbeing.
Reliability and basic care for passengers are non‑negotiable, and both were missing when I needed them most. On both counts, Logan Air failed spectacularly. I will go out of my way to avoid them in future and will advise others to do the same until they prove they value their customers’ time, money, and dignity.

Bad information and rude staff at Kirkwall airport.
Very poor handling of check-in time for island hopping flight Kirkwall to Sanday on 23rd July 2026. We were waiting next to the check in desk but were not called or informed in any way that the check-in was closing. The information board showed the flight still checking in but we were still refused check in for being late. Staff were completely unhelpful and quite rude. A serious attitude problem.

Wonderful treatment of visually impaired teen
My teen son was travelling to Stornoway yesterday in his own, he has a visual impairment and uses a cane, only having very close sight. He told me that the staff could not have been kinder, really looked after him and most excitingly, showed him the cockpit and took photos of him in his phone. This made such a huge difference to him as a nervous traveller and turned a worrying experience into something positive and happy. Thank you so much for making my son happy and confident in flying and giving him such lovely memories
Still no compensation six months after experiencing 4 hour delay
I took a flight with Loganair from Southampton to Newcastle in Jan 2026. The flight was delayed over four hours cos of a technical issue with the operating aircraft and then the second replacement aircraft. I submitted my application for delay compensation on the day of the delay. Six months later and despite contacting them several times by both phone and email I still have not been compensated. Absolutely appalling!
Couldn’t book
I tried booking flights from Exeter to Edinburgh. I couldn’t compete the booking, on either Safari or DuckDuckGo. Despite selecting the dates and times the website would not allow me to continue. So I thought I would call to book. After 15 minutes holding I had moved from position 11 to position 9. Then I was cut off. I am flying British Air instead.
Appalling airline
Appalling airline. Conflicting flight status Info and unable to speak to anyone.
Ancient aircraft and high fares to boot!
Believe the negative comments
I’m absolutely disgusted with Logan Air for appalling customer service for our flight to Dublin from Aberdeen. My wife and I had been at Aberdeen airport for a 09.45hrs flight was delayed, delayed, delayed constantly….no plane to begin with, then there was no infant seat belt for a passenger, then the air conditioning went down and finally the crew ran out of hours, as an ex forces veteran this doesn’t sit well with me for an approx 1.5 hour flight(the crew had been there since 8am according to the pilot) hard going before 3pm. To rub salt in the wounds a new crew appeared shortly after and took the plane we were expecting to get on and go to Shetland with their passengers??????????. This trip has cost my wife and I significant cost with hotel, tours in Dublin and airport parking…..and a days holiday entitlement. The replies to each review asks to go to their customer services…..good luck with that as we tried yesterday. Logan Air is an expensive Mickey Mouse outfit who should be avoided at all costs. Instead of asking for feedback, take the lessons learned from the negative comments and do something about the shocking customer service and stop using Operational issues as excuses as it doesn’t wash. Seeing customers being gaslit and getting frustrated and angry will not help Logan Airs business as it won’t be used again.
This company should cease trading and…
Logan Air- Diabolical -This company should cease trading and should be dissolved.
My Grandchildren were travelling to Sumburgh from Edinburgh on an early morning 07:00 am flight.
The flight got cancelled the night before due to the weather. This was due to mist at Sumburgh.
The Airline must have known that this mist will be gone as the temperature increases, and in fact the mist had completely vanished by 09:00 am.
Logan Air could have delayed the flight by an hour or 2. Instead they cancelled it, knowing very well people will be scrambling for other flights. Flights are not cheap,in fact you could have a package holiday to some destinations at the price they charge.
My Grandchildren along with others had to replan their holiday affecting relatives at both places.
This company has a monopoly and they couldn't care less about customers
Come on easyJet/ Ryan air, guys help break this monopoly.
Air authorities should look into all incidences of cancellations, as many I am sure can be avoided.
Charged with no explanation, then scammed by fake support on X
Ignored via both email and X about being charged for a 19kg bag between two passengers at Bristol airport, but not charged on the way back. No explanation given.
On top of that, I was then scammed by someone pretending to be your customer support on X. Given how you've handled my original complaint, I doubt you'll respond to this one either.
Shocking level of care for customers. I won't be flying with you again.
Flight from Manchester to Southampton…
Flight from Manchester to Southampton cancelled 4 hours before take off - informed by text message. Phoned customer service who advised refund would be arranged but never received. Had to book last minute train ticket down to Southampton. Have submitted 2 x refund claims but still nothing from Loganair. Online chat used but again no help. Have now escalated complaint to CAA PACT. Would not recommend and will not be booking with Loganair again.
Poor economy service for a premium price
Used to be a pretty good service between Edinburgh and Exeter, but it is now awful.
Flights arriving into Edinburgh taxi around the airport to a (very) remote stand where you are made to wait for a bus to return to the terminal, adding a considerable delay to the journey.
The last two times I have flown from Edinburgh, all passengers were sent to a gate at the opposite end of the airport from the originally posted gate, only to be returned back to the original gate after a 20 minute wait. The walk is fine for me but was definitely not comfortable for some of the other passengers on the plane.
This used to be my preferred route to travel from Exeter, purely for convenience (definitely not price), but it is now more efficient and cost effective to get three trains and a bus between home and Bristol airport and fly with EasyJet.
