Terrible customer service. Didn’t bother turning up for the job or answering the phone or emails to explain why they weren’t there. Now reading the awful reviews I think I’ve dodged a bullet.
How some companies continue to do business is beyond me!

An appointment was made on the phone for someone from London Guttering to come round and inspect the chimney stack and the moss on the pitched roof. Between 9 and 12 - but at 12.30, still no visit and no explanatory, apologetic phone call!

I hired this company in July 2024 to assess the source of a leak in our home and provide a solution. Their guy was very quick to determine that our gutters were installed improperly and needed to be replaced entirely. The work was done and I was told that I had a guarantee. I paid £970.

During our next heavy rainfall (several weeks later), I found that the leak was even worse. I called the company and they asked me to send photos. I sent video of the leak as well as the photos of the work they did. I quickly got a message back saying that the leak was not from the gutters, that it was from a plumbing problem (no evidence of this). I asked to speak to someone who could help me resolve this.

I got a phone call from David, the Director. He again told me that I had a plumbing problem. When I tried to explain that the leak happened only when it rained, he got very aggressive and proceeded to scream at me, using more F-bombs per sentence than I've ever heard, and finished his monologue saying that he hoped it would rain so much that my F****ing roof would cave in. This was after he said he would send a team immediately to "rip out the gutters." He also said that it didn't matter if I wrote a negative review because it wouldn't change his business at all.

So apologies for the long review, but I had to tell this story. There are so so so many companies in the London area who provide guttering and roofing services, so please do what I did not do initially, and do some research, read some reviews and choose wisely. This is by far the worst experience I've ever had dealing with a company.

Very quick and friendly service when taking on the work to replace my guttering however when trying to contact them about a fault this was another story. Water started dripping from the new guttering and when trying to contact them to fix this issue they either did not reply to my emails and calls or when they did, they made promises to come and fix the problem but sadly never turned up, I'm shocked by this disgusting treatment to customers and would avoid at all costs

Had these cowboys round to replace a leaking gutter a while ago. It was a distressed purchase and I realised afterwards that the price they charged for it was absolutely outrageous. This wouldn't matter so much if they had done a decent job. But we have subsequently discovered that both ends of the replacement gutter are not long enough, so we have water seeping down the corner walls, making the situation even worse than before the repair. Avoid at all costs!

Awful. A joke of company. Booked for a specific time, and they didn't show up. I called and left messages and no response. Really awful.

Booked them in to fix our guttering, cancelled last minute, then rebooked for a day later, and when they failed to show up again, sent a rude email suggesting i was asking for priority over other jobs, when all i asked for was their availability.

David was very keen to help investigate the overflow path of my gutter and seemed like a nice guy offering to also clean it, until I mentioned I had a cheaper quote to do the gutter cleaning. After that he suggested I was a time waster and his emails were very curt! Won’t be contacting these guys again.

I called to get a quote after a leak in my gutter got worse and I had to drop everything to find someone to come look at it asap, and I spoke with someone that sounded a bit unfriendly on the phone (their tone was a bit off and they were asking questions not relevant to the problem I was trying to explain along with giving all the history) and before I was able to explain what happened and what I needed they hang up on me abruptly as I was speaking and never rang me back. I called a few times no one picked up after that, I sent a message and didn't get a reply. I read after in the other reviews that it looked a bit dodgy indeed it made me wonder if this is a real business or a cover up for something else. If you want a serious worker and get the job done I wouldn't waste your time with this one.

I can tell you this is a dodgy company. You won't find any reliable figures on the company itself first. I know where they live now and it looks like doing some gutter and roof pays quite a lot to get some luxury cars.. even with the vans almost always parked in the street and not moving much. In my opinion just a business there to hide some more dodgy activities.

Same as below, never showed up, twice - sad to see that others have had the same experience. I found them on Checkatrade so was hopeful they'd provide a good service - unfortunately not. Anyway, I left a review for them there so won't go into all the details but take a look at their Checkatrade profile and you should see a familiar name, I wouldn't trust any of the 5-star reviews.

The guttering to the side of my house needed replacing as the previous work had been done by cowboy builders a few years ago, who totally destroyed the gutter on purpose so that I would call them back on a regular basis and charge me an exorbitant fee. I did a on-line search and found London Guttering. They were professional, friendly and did an excellent job of replacing the crap gutter. I would highly recommend their services. I will deifinitely be using them again in the future!

Came out within 2 hours in the storm and done a temporary repair on my house roof and came back the next day to repair for a more permanent job would highly recommend this company thanks Michael for all help

Agree, with all the comments left below. Do not use this company. Three follow-up appointments scheduled and no one turned up for any of them. Also the 'guarantee' on their work is meaningless. Paid well over the odds for a flat roof repair, that then continued to leak. No recourse.

I really wish I had come to this site to see these reviews before I hired this company. Unlucky for me, but hopefully lucky for anyone who does.

I enquired about some guttering issues and because the property is quite high and another company said scaffolding would be needed (which is expensive) made me think it was worth a try as this company said ladder access would be adequate.

Anyway, Im going to cut a long story short.

There was one known thing which was a gutter clean, which when the worker went up the ladder said only one side needed to be cleaned. I had to take his word for it, but it would have been nice to have had a photo of the other side to be certain this was the case.

So only half cleaned, I didn't receive any discount on the price at all.

Whilst up there, he said there were two joining parts which should also be replaced so I agreed to go ahead with it, one he had on the van another he needed to go to a shop.

I waited near on 45 minutes for him to come back and during that time the ladder was up quite high against my property and I had to keep an eye on it, it was actually pretty windy that day.

Anyway when he came back, he fitted the part and I had assumed all would be good.

After he left and I had settled the bill as if my magic, a heavy downpour came, I could hear the rain hitting my front garden with the same force and noise before.

I took a look up and basically heres the situation.
One side of the gutter is indeed fixed, but the other side is actually worse now after the visit.

I contacted the company and they gave me a mobile number of the worker who had literally just left my place, I messaged him but got no response.

Why should it even be my responsibility to have to call him back, I had spent well over my hour lunch break watching the ladder in the garden anyway. Im a customer, have you not heard of customer service?

Today I got another message saying it would be a further £740 to perform a more thorough repair and of course I declined such an offer.

Once you pay the money you are on your own. They won't come back and revisit and although they said there is a 3 months guarantee on repairs, not the cleaning itself, it sounds pretty meaningless, I literally would not trust them to make a more significant repair in any case.

I don't like leaving bad reviews, but there are just some cases where you have to do it, I just hope anyone who has the good fortune of reading the reviews on this page, forsake taking a risk of hiring these people.

After paying £569, I got half a repair, half a clean and the bad part of the gutter is now actually worse than before. Be careful

Don’t even think about using this company! Was doing a neighbours house opposite, so asked if they could fix my gutter. Whilst was initially friendly with posh new liveried van, that’s as good as it got. To cut a long story short, unprofessional, unreliable, and downright rude. Avoid!

Arranged a gutter clean, competitive price. They didn’t show up or answer calls on the day. Next day I called again and a guy said they’d come out next day. They didn’t! And didn’t answe calls or call me back when I left a message. Useless!
