We wish that we had read more closely…

We wish that we had read more closely the reviews of Lost - supper club events.

“Over promised - under delivered” “Not worth it” and “Get Lost” every criticism is valid. The staff are friendly, but appear untrained. Disappointed and ripped off is how they felt. We share those feelings.

It was on the basis of the description of the gourmet food and entertainment, including photographs of nicely spaced tables that we booked Lost.

However, it was with incredulity that we were shown to a table next to the door into the kitchen, and very close to other diners. When we complained we were told it was too late to move - this table had been crammed in for the first time, but they would not do so again. There was a draft and constant bustle of servers passing within inches - we lost count of the number of apologies. The server had to lean over me to serve the next table, and we were so close to another diner we could hear everything he said.

It is misleading to describe Chef Matt Hardy as their own, and “Foodie Heaven” with superstar chefs. The reality is a mass catering outfit from Birkenhead. Our food was truly awful, not once did a server ask if the food was ok, even though it was obvious a dish had barely been touched. The lowlight was the main course - which was not the eagerly awaited Kebabs.

The toilets were dirty, even the mirrors had not been cleaned.

As far as the live entertainment is concerned, we could not see anyone from our seats. When we went to have a look at what was happening upstairs - the server promised that we would not be looking at their backs all night. They would bring the show down to us later. She appeared surprised that this did not happen. The performance finished upstairs at 9.10 pm - they were later seen eating outside.

It is unconscionable for this horrible experience to be caused by the misrepresentation by those associated with Lost.
