Do not check luggage with LOT

I flew with LOT Polish Airlines from Stockholm to Miami via Warsaw on June 24, 2025. Unfortunately, a professional-grade hair trimmer (worth approx. 4000 SEK / $420) was stolen from my checked luggage. It was securely packed in a zipped pouch, and I only noticed the loss a few days later when I went to use it.

LOT denied my claim because I hadn’t filed a damage report upon arrival. However, it’s unrealistic to expect travelers to detect theft of a specific item immediately—especially one that was stored inside a case and not used daily.

I tracked my bag using an Apple AirTag, and the only time its location wasn’t visible was during the 2-hour stop in Warsaw. After that, the bag arrived directly in Miami. This strongly suggests the theft occurred while the luggage was in LOT’s care in Warsaw.

As someone who buys high-quality items rarely and travels with care, I expected more professionalism and accountability. I will not be flying with LOT again.

I had a terrible experience flying with LOT Polish Airlines (flight LO 6208). Upon arrival, all our suitcases were extremely dirty and visibly scuffed, as if they had been thrown around carelessly. This level of handling is simply unacceptable.

What’s worse, after opening my luggage, I discovered that valuable items were missing — including expensive jewelry and a bottle of perfume. These were securely packed before the flight, and it’s clear that someone tampered with my suitcase during transit.

This is completely unacceptable and deeply disappointing. I expected a much higher standard of care and security from an international airline. I will never fly with LOT again, and I strongly advise others to be extremely cautious if you do.

Flight Prague

Flight Prague - Warsaw - NYC and back with Dreamliner 878-9.
OK experience, food was decent, but there was too cold and I was ill in the airplane for long time after flight. When I wanted to change seats, support was very kind and helped me even I bought tickets with booking.

Double-Charged for Luggage - Refused Refund Even With Proof

I paid for extra luggage with LOT Airlines online and everything seemed fine. At the airport, they claimed they haven't received my payment and forced me to pay again, but a much larger fee, of course, even after I showed proof of my online payment. That happened on my way back to the U.S. They tried to pull that trick before my flight out of the U.S. as well, but it didn't work the first time.
Since then, they've refused to acknowledge their mistake and refund me. l've filed BBB and DOT complaints, but their customer service continues to gaslight and deflect.
Judging by other reviews, l'm not the only one who's been double charged and dismissed. This feels less like a glitch and more like a pattern of dishonest business practice.
Avoid flying LOT if you value transparency, accountability, or even basic customer service.

They cancelled my flight THREE…

They cancelled my flight THREE TIMES!!!!! I have never EVER had this experience with any airline. They were vague about the reasons and never offered compensation. Missed all of my bookings. Friends from abroad had to wasted their money because they couldn’t get refunds on their flights and had to get new tickets. Insane. Will never use them again.

Appalling Discrimination and Incompetence by LOT Polish Airlines

LOT Polish Airlines denied boarding to a deaf U.S. military veteran on Flight LO12 from Newark to Warsaw (June 25, 2025), along with his two properly documented service dogs. All required paperwork was submitted well in advance and confirmed by LOT in writing. Despite this, their staff falsely claimed documents were missing and refused to board the animals.

This blatant disregard for the Air Carrier Access Act, which applies to international flights departing the U.S., was discriminatory and unlawful. LOT later admitted their failure—but the damage was done: the veteran was left stranded, incurred thousands in losses, and endured severe emotional distress.

This incident reflects gross incompetence and a complete lack of accountability. I strongly advise others—especially passengers with disabilities—to think twice before flying with LOT.

I wish I would flew with another…

I wish I would flew with another airline from Europe to USA. I typically fly with other one, but this time I decided to save some money (10-15%) and I regret so much.
Summary:
1. Supers tight space inside the craft.
The airplane was an old Boeing 777 and the seats inside - I was like a sardine in a can for 9 hours. The worst of my all trips to US so far. The fun part was when the food was served and then you have to spread you arms so you can eat, but this is impossible.
2. Customer support in event of damage baggage is terrible.
After my baggage was damaged (One of the the wheel of my roller was broken) they offer me a compensation of 30USD. Correct - thirty USD. Because only one wheel is broken and they calculated that this is the cost. ON my response to receive a more adequate compensation - they said - take it or loose it.
3. Almost forgot - after we landed on Warsaw airport - we've been taken to busses in order to reach the airport. It took us additional 15min.

I wish I wouldn't save those money and choose another airline.

I am extremely disappointed with my…

I am extremely disappointed with my recent experience flying with LOT Polish Airlines. After checking in my luggage, I discovered that 8 pieces of my jewelry were stolen—including 3 bracelets, 2 necklaces, and earrings, all of which were made of gold and diamonds.

LOT is considered a safe and reliable airline, but this experience was a serious violation of trust. Someone clearly opened my bag after it was checked in, which is both disturbing and unacceptable. It’s shocking that such a security breach can happen under the airline’s and airport’s supervision.

To anyone traveling with LOT:
Please carry all valuable and important items in your hand luggage. Do not trust that your checked-in bag will remain secure.

Unbelievable... they managed to misplace all the luggage of four people without taking responsibility or doing anything about it.

There were four of us who traveled to Warsaw on 12. 6.25 from Trondheim via Oslo. Wise from experience from several previous trips with KLM, which almost always manages to misplace our luggage, we had also put Apple Airtags in all our luggage this time. We got our luggage from Trondheim to Oslo with SAS, but that was the end of it! All four suitcases were left behind in Oslo and we received a clear message from the administration at Gardermoen that it was now LOT's responsibility to bring the luggage on to Warsaw. We tried to claim the suitcases from LOT, but they had no interest in talking to us or doing anything about this problem.

After a day, a suitcase actually arrived in Warsaw, which we had to pick up ourselves by taxi back to the airport. LOT had no interest in being helpful in bringing it to the Hotel SAS Radisson.

After countless phone calls to LOT for two days, the last three suitcases arrived at Warsaw airport - the day before we were to fly home. Once again we had to take a taxi back to the airport to pick up this luggage. LOT as usual had no interest in being helpful.

Warsaw is a nice city and worth a visit, but use another airline than LOT. They are incompetent, lazy and don't know the words service, helping passengers or moving their asses.

I purchased a seat for an elderly passenger (81 years old) who is fully mobile and able to assist in an emergency. We requested a wheelchair only to help him get through TSA more quickly — not due to disability. LOT Polish Airlines removed his paid seat without any explanation or notification, and gave him a middle seat in a 3-seat row.

The agent never said a word about this change when we checked in. This is unacceptable, discriminatory behavior. He was treated unfairly simply for asking for airport assistance. We expect a refund and accountability.

Avoid LOT at any cost!!!

As many others have already pointed out, LOT Airlines truly stands out as one of the worst airlines when it comes to managing delays and connecting flights. My recent experience was extremely frustrating—both my departure and arrival flights were significantly delayed, causing immense inconvenience and stress.

To make matters worse, my connecting flight did not wait despite booking it all under a single ticket. After landing, we had to wait an additional hour and a half just to disembark, resulting in missing our onward flight entirely. LOT Airlines provided absolutely no support or assistance, showing complete disregard for passenger comfort or even basic care. My children and I were left stranded overnight in the airport without accommodation or proper guidance from the airline.

Overall, the lack of communication, absence of customer care, and blatant indifference to passenger well-being are unacceptable. I strongly advise avoiding LOT Airlines if you value punctuality, customer service, and peace of mind.

Very poor services

Inferior services. I was forced to check in my cabin luggage despite not using a check-in luggage allowance. Staff in Warsaw rudely told me to read the rules before flying. If the airline sells itself as a premium, it should not act as Polish Ryanair.

Cabin storage on the plane was not even filled with cabin luggage, so I am not clear why such aggressive tactics were taken to check in the cabin luggage. I am a frequent flyer on M&M and have never seen anything like that on Lufthansa, Air Dolomiti or other airlines in the group taking such measures, especially when the plane is not even full.

This happened in Warsaw airport Flight LO773. I will avoid this airline from now on.

Zero understanding and customer focus

I bought return ticket from Venice to Warsaw. It was economy with hand luggage. I had flight to Warsaw on the 29th of May and return ticket on the 31st of May. But unfortunately on my way to the Venice airport I had a car accident that’s why I was late for my first flight. I was forced to buy another ticket prices to get to Warsaw. But on the next day I received a message from LOT that my return flight was also cancelled because of non-show on the first flight. Of course I called to support immediately, explained the situation that I had an emergency and I want to return to Venice with LOT that’s why I asked them to return my reservation but they told me that it was cancelled automatically and I should pay 310$ to return to Venice. Of course I was shocked because it was almost the full price I paid for both tickets (it was 335$).

I’m completely dissatisfied of this situation because it’s not OK to cancel flight automatically and to make clients pay twice. It's outright theft because this airline doesn't care about the emergencies that their customers may have. Their main mission is to get as much money as possible, and this is definitely not the level of such a large airline.

Very poor service LOT Polish Airlines

My wife and I booked and paid for seats with extra legroom. Instead we were assigned standard seats that could not even adjust the backrest. When complaining to LOT and demanding a refund of what we paid extra for seats by the emergency exit, LOT refused to refund the difference. LOT's service and business ethics border on pure fraud. Will never travel with LOT again. In addition, one of our suitcases was left behind at the departure airport and was not delivered to us until two days later.

Latest update.
I complained to The Norwegian Air Passanger Complaint Handling Body in October and 20.May
Their assessment is that we are entitled to a refund of what we paid for seats with extra legroom.
In this case, it is clear that the complainant booked a ticket and chose seats in row 14. These are
seats that LOT Polish Airlines always charges extra for on this route. The Air Passenger Complaint
Handling Body finds that this has been proven through screenshots submitted by the complainant, and
the Air Passenger Complaint Handling Body therefore assumes that the complainant must have paid
for these seats.
LOT Polish Airlines currently charges NOK 330 per seat. However, the complainant has stated that at
the time of purchase he paid only NOK 240 per seat. The Air Passenger Complaint Handling Body
recommends that the air carrier reimburse this fee, in the total sum of NOK 480.
LOTs reply: We refuse to refund the surcharge
LOT has no moral qualms about defrauding customers. Why is LOT allowed to do this?
LOT is a disgrace to the great country of Poland.
