I used to use Skype but they closed. I tried Viber and Rebtel but had huge issues with calling the UK. So I tried Love voip. I am an old man so they were very patient. I used their help line and they guided me through it. So now I pay 4 pounds a month and anyone in the UK can call me at a local rate to them. I also get 100 free minures to call the UK. If I want unlimited calls to the uk it is 10 pounds a month. But its cheaper to ring them and ask them to ring you back. You get a free UK number. Alexei at CS was so helpful, and patient. and I had a friend in the UK calling me straight away. I am very happy, the service was 10/10 Thanks guys
I wanted to reduce my phone costs and through a recommendation decided to use Lovevoip. I needed to retain my BT landline number but did not wish to pay 20.00 a month for this. So I needed a reliable Call number forwarding feature for our 2 mobiles. Lovevoip were able to fulfil my requests at a monthly cost of 4.00 and included 100 outgoing call minutes for each phone! I encountered a few setup problems and concerns about leaving BT but through a straightforward Ticket system, I was contacted by three different members of their team, namely Alan, Clare and finally Nicola. All of them with extreme patience and knowledge of their product were able to sort me out. So congratulations to their product, product development and employee training teams. Thank you!
Always been helpful to resolve any issues and communication channels are ver clear and they have a quick response time. Very proactive customer service.
Our second review of Love VOIP, based on a couple of years experience. No down time in the period we have used them. I recall porting the number had a glitch, as the previous provider had a slight detail different to the request, so rejected it. Entirely our fault, but worked the second time. Make sure you check twice, port once. Support was great getting set up, not needed it since. Contrary to another review, I added users easily, had the phone on desktop, VOIP desk phone and free android app. All work 100%. I have divert to voicemail at set times, with customised message with our brand, call recording and other features included. Great value and highly recommended.
I've attempted to switch to LoveVoip and so far got nowhere. The porting of the number proved to be an agonisingly long process, with little or no communication. Despite a promised switch over date of 13th January 2025, I still have no phone line as of 5th February. The ticket system is unresponsive at best, in most cases messages are ignored (hello Kyle, Ruth, Alan???). Trying to reach by phone is pointless – nine time out out ten the lines are down due to a 'meeting'. I wish I had never attempted to switch and now need to try and extricate myself from this useless shower and get my phone line back.
I took up their offer of a free trial and although there were technical issues to begin with, the service is now up and running very smoothly. Initially, I had problems with one-way audio and after ruling out problems on my end, the Love VoIP team spent about two weeks investigating the problem and keeping me updated during this time. I am pleased to say the issue seems to have been resolved and there have been no repeat occurrences of this problem. Okay, so not the best start, but this gave me the opportunity to assess the kind of support I could expect should I ever need it again in the future, and I found them to be very courteous and professional in dealing with this problem and other minor issues since then.
Support is provided via live chat, email or telephone. I have used all three but have always received prompt and helpful replies regardless of how you contact them. The live chat is good. You do have to get past the automated responses initially, but an agent usually responds quite promptly once you get past that. Usually, it's Nicola who I find is always very helpful and professional.
Other plus points
No contract.
Unlimited calls bundle which includes calls to mobile and landline numbers.
Portal which gives you a great deal of control over the service.
The basic monthly charge is £4 which includes 100 minutes and the (optional) unlimited calls bundle costs £7, so £11 in total per month which seems reasonable and fair when you consider you are not tied to them with a contract.
My only slight gripe is that it took exactly 3 weeks to port my phone number over from my previous provider and we stopped getting calls on our old landline without warning. This was on a Friday. The following Monday, we were informed that the number had now successfully been transferred to Love VoIP, yet we were still not getting calls on our Love VoIP 'landline'. Thankfully, this was swiftly resolved by Nicola when I contacted support to report the issue.
As far as hardware is concerned, I am using a Grandstream HT802 VoIP adaptor which I bought on Brad's recommendation. This supports two phone lines which is ideal if you need to trial a VoIP service from another provider. I would also strongly recommend that you buy this from comms-express.com. The ones they sell have the UK mains adaptor and have standard firmware; they have not been modified / customised in any way unlike the ones from a certain other retailer.
Just setup 2 accounts for the family. So far so good
Great quality services provided by Alan from LoveVOIP. Alan assisted me setting up the VOIP phone and transferring my number to Love VOIP and saved me some money overall moving to Love VOIP.
Low cost and easy to add and remove uses. Great for remote workers. Great online web portal that you can access 24/7. Lots of services are included in the low monthly cost. The free trial allows you to test the offering and really get to grips with the service. Highly recommend.
While the actual service is flaky at best, and you can ONLY connect the VOIP account to a single device, using their recommended paid for software. When you have a problem you do get to webchat with an agent (I assume it's not a bot) quite quickly.
However they always seems to blame everything but their service.
My advice, stick with a recognised VOIP provider, it will cost a little more, but I'm sure it will work when you need it to.
