I read alot of reviews on this
I read alot of reviews, kinda scared me but it's only 4$ to try. Yes they are sneaky with promos but every company is. 1) bought the sim 2) bought minutes at any store 3) created my account online 4) plugged it into my unlocked phone.. done.. it works fine all the negative reviews are just people wanting free services promos etc
Automatic topic voids Referral Bonus
Automatic topic voids your referral bonus! What is the point of this promo? To trick you into referring a friend??
Lucky encourages you to refer a friend and at the same time, encourages you to sign up for automatic top-up. This tricks you because once you refer a friend, they tell you you are not eligible for your referral bonus because your top-up had to be paid BEFORE the month... Which is not possible with automatic top-up 😡😡. Explanation please Lucky??
Lucky Mobile for the Pit
I have been with these copycats for over 6 months. there isn't 1 month some Bimbo tells me the same thing. I will not quit this rant until I'm given the deal I was promise.Calling me, after 2 days lady with dogs and kids screaming in the back, with no clue bout what I'm demanding

Too many red flags in just one month with them
I have never had too many bad experiences with a single provider in a too short period.
When I moved to Vancouver I decided to buy a new pre-paid plan. I randomly chose Lucky Mobile since the price was good enough. Even before I get my SIM card, I was pissed because I paid $10 for it online, but I found the next day that a Dollarama next door sells the same card for $4. They should have mentioned they sell SIM cards in physical stores during the buying process online. I had to wait one week for it to arrive unnecessarily.
Anyway, I paid for the plan that gives me 250MB when I automatically top-up. All my data was gone on the very first day of the cycle. That has never happened with the other carriers I had before in Canada, and I have not done anything unusual that day. I checked my account and there were packages of exactly 30.0MB being consumed many times during the day, even when I was not using the phone. Not sure if it is their fault or mine, but it seemed very suspicious.
I tried to buy extra data later as an add-on, but I simply couldn't because their app said that my plan does not actually include data since the 250MB is just a promo. So, I had to wait until the next cycle to either have the 250MB or change my plan. In the meantime, I had to go to the USA and found out they don't sell any packages of call/data to use there either. Not a huge problem but this is kind of a default service in other carriers.
I was so pissed at this point that I decided to change my carrier. In my account, it said that my credit card would be charged for the top-up every 18th. So, on the 17th I contacted them in their online chat to cancel my account. The guy said that they do not delete pre-paid accounts. I just have to cancel my top-up and 90 days later it would be deleted automatically. However, a few days before, my wife, which was also having a terrible experience with them, asked the same to make them stop sending unwanted SMS and emails to remind her about the payment and they did it! I insisted to the guy to delete mine as well, told the whole story of how unfair it is to provide different services to different customers, and they did nothing. So, I just cancelled my automatic top-up as suggested.
Checking my credit card the next week, guess what? They had charged me for the next cycle on the 17th! The 18th was not even a weekend or holiday to justify charging earlier. Again, I went to the online chat and asked for a refund. They said they do not refund pre-paid accounts, even though I have explicitly asked and insisted to cancel my account before the day my card was supposed to be charged. Their answer was basically: "sorry but can't do anything, have a nice day, bye". Remember the top-up I had cancelled the week before? The process had a problem, and it was still active without them warning me. If I had not checked my credit card bill, they would have continued charging me for the next months. Now they say the top-up is cancelled. TBH I am not sure at all if I can trust them. Let's see next month...
There is a reason they call themselves Lucky, cause you have to be if you want to have a good service with them.

Don’t Buy You will waste your Money trust me.
As visitors in Canada, do not use!
As visitors in Canada, this is not the place to get a canadian cell phone number!
Their activation site is not compatible to anything outside canada.
Professional and cost-effective
I followed the documentation on Lucky web site and with no issues, without any contact to support, I purchased the SIM, got my number transferred from the previous provider, setup the account and activated the SIM. Now I enjoy the rate of transfer I need, and talking all for $25 / mo. In the end I can say my expectations are met: the service is professional and cost-effective.
Terrible service you try to get help…
Terrible service you try to get help and the keep on make you do same things over and over again. You try to be transparent on forum for help they delete your post. If you need help forget it! Worse service ever. Also to note they do not keep notes on your account. So if you n
Ever have to recall an issuse you will start from square one.
Evil Scammers
I got the app so I could change my plan from 70$ to 15$ and it is saying the account is suspended until I renew my old plan for 70$...
I have 20$ on the account already but apparently I have to pay 50$ MORE to "unsuspend" my account before I can modify the plan?
Evil, do not go with lucky.
I've had much better service than other…
I've had much better service than other services (Rogers Chatr) Happy with Lucky.
Stay away from TRIO
Over the years, I used the service of TRIO, Chatr/Public/Lucky. I had no problem with online activation, or payment. These guys promise 3G speed on LTE network. But, they cannot deliver those speed all the time and everywhere. Results; frustration, buffering, disconnection, ...Lately, I was with Lucky, even some calls did not pass through, incoming, or outgoing.
My advice, pay $10 more and get full network speed. If you are in Quebec, you could go with Fizz, for same fee, you get full LTE speed.
Avoid at all cost!
If I read a review first, I would have saved lot times and trouble. Just arrived in Canada and got the sim
card for the convenience store. It is total scam. Do not use it at all cost!. Charged me three times just to get sim card activated. Tried to contact customer service several times but it all seems automatic machine answering. It's goes nowhere. I guess I just wasted almost $60 for nothing!!!!
Slow, but reliable. Best $25 unlimited plan in Canada
I've been with Lucky Mobile since June 2020, and have had zero negative experiences to speak of. They're reliable, inexpensive, and best of all, offer unlimited data for only $25 / month.
Remember though, you most definitely get what you pay for. While Lucky offers pretty much everything you could ever need or ask for out of a basic phone service, it does so at a very slow data rate.
Lucky Mobile's data connection is being throttled down to 3 Mbps upload and download. This is more than enough for basic things, like watching 720p YouTube videos, or browsing the internet in a more casual way. However, updating apps, watching live video content, or doing anything overly intensive? Lucky's simply not good enough for that.
It's for that reason that, while I definitely can recommend them, and have had no issues with their payment services, or even their tech support (which I contacted over on Twitter), the fact that the data speed is so darn slow, is really why I can't use them as my primary phone line. They are, by all means, a fantastic provider. Great reliability. Fantastic coverage. It's just very, very slow.
Also, regarding live streaming content, I've tried using Twitch and Sportsnet. In my experience, and assuming you have solid reception, Twitch runs at around 360p, and is mostly stable. Sportsnet, on the other hand, has had buffering issues, and keeps trying to load the highest bitrate.
All in all, Lucky Mobile is a fantastic budget provider, so long as you do not require the fastest data speeds around. It's great for calling, and light web consumption. However, I do not recommend paying for one of their higher priced plans, as the extra data you get is still limited to only 3 Mbps of usable speed. If you need to spend more than $50 for your plan, just go with another (far faster) provider, even if it means potentially paying a tad more.
But for $25-50? Yeah, Lucky Mobile is easily my go-to provider, and I've even brought a few of my family on-board with them.
They are the absolute WORST!!!!!
They are the absolute WORST!!!!!! I have 3 different transfers they took off my credit card and I got nothing for it. They won’t help me and I have waited hours on the phone with no outcome. The supervisor said to go get a new SIM card and try that and when I call back they said mam we don’t know what your talking about. I am beyond livid and I highly recommend you never buy a card from them.
It is a joke company
I am trying to get setup no success ready to give up it looks like headache for the future
they transferred me to Bell mobile.
Bell just asked couple of questions played music for five minutes and hang up.
Tellus send me the message twice that number is free to be transferred.
This company is "you get what you pay for"
RUN!!!!!!!
I went to the store and purchased a new SIM card and was told it was a simple 5 minute process. Literally 3 hours later and sent me at least 5 password and PIN numbers to verify. On hold various times and they did not port my number!!! I am so tired of being transferred, being put on hold and then I am told it is down for "maintenance" and I will not have a working phone for 12 hrs now. But feel free to pay for both companies.
Save your money and stress - run from Lucky
Bottom line: Save your money and stress level and find another provider: Virgin, Public Mobile, etc. Do not use Lucky. Synopsis: Paid$112.00 for a pay and talk plan that included unlimited calls and texts. This was supposed to last for 4 months at $25 a month. However, after two months, they deactivated the account stating that too many 411 calls at $2 each had been made and that the credit had run out. However, the phone does not allow us to make 411 numbers so this is not true. Two months cost me $112.
Second issue: first two weeks after activating the account and securing a new phone number, my friends could call me but when they texted me, it went to the previous owner of that number. I could not receive texts. When I explained this to Lucky's customer agent, she basically insinuated I was lying about the texts not going through and that their numbers were always ones that had never been used. Reputable companies would coach their agents to say something like: "That is strange and I am sorry for your inconvenience. This could be a glitch that our tech team could handle". Apparently, not Lucky.
Scammers
My mother cancelled her services with them for 8 month and they still charged her credit card . Scumbags
Their phone menu is poorly designed
Their phone menu is poorly designed. They make you listen to all promotions, offers and terms of service before presenting your menu options. Their phone app keeps updating, and they disable their old versions. Everything about their customer interaction is about wasting your time.
