Lufthansa low quality company, cheap scum
Number one I got information that flight is overbooked, no matter I've payed the ticket months ago. So what overbook means. It is a scam. They sold same sit to multiple persons. He/she have checked-in faster then me. Is this a bidding game. What if someone check-in and not come, will be according law to sell to other person, or request upgrade 50e. Second some high ranking scummer have also invented self drop bag. Yeah he saved few salaries to increase its own, and far that I'm against automation. But automation gluing stickers and cargo track is like using computer as type mashine. Show I know how your bar code scanner and sorter works, and how and where it reads the stickers....I could write whole day.Dear Buckhead CEO of Lufthansa great you increase the income and decrease the expenses, you also increased traveler stress and decrease joy. Have a pleasant flight, hope despite subsidiaries of German government you will be overrun by concurrency.
Lufthansa - the best German airline for ruining your trip!
Lufthansa - the best German airline for ruining your trip!
Oh my word Lufthansa, what are you playing at! What an awful airline, I had always been interested to see how good Lufthansa was and unfortunately I have now found out and boy I wish I’d never bothered.
I booked a flight with Expedia which was with Lufthansa, the flight was confirmed and I added the flight to the Lufthansa app - everything is good.
I then got a notification from Expedia to say that the airline had cancelled my flight. I contacted Expedia, to find out why it was cancelled and they did not know why, they said the flight was just cancelled with no reason. Moreover the flight was still available to be booked and so they said I should contact the airline.
So I spent the day queuing in the Lufthansa chat and finally got through. They told me that “the flight was cancelled for reason they are unable to specify”. On pressing them for a more informative reason, the agent ended the chat - I had been queuing for 3 hours!
On searching their site, the flight was STILL active and can be booked, but they decided to cancel MY flight only with no explanation whatsoever!
I also had to speak to Lufthansa for a general enquiry about this booking (before they cancelled it) and wow they need a lesson in customer service, they are rude and really unhelpful. I spoke to 3 different agents and all were the same - I suspect it’s a company ethos!
I use their budget airline (EuroWings) regularly for flights to Germany and that airline is great - so it was extremely disappointing that the parent carrier is so bad.
What I have learnt is that Lufthansa is happy to create a contract with you and then, just because they fancy it they cancel that contract with no reason specified - in fact were unwilling to share the reason (suggesting they are at fault and don’t want to admit it). Clearly there is a story here that they are not going to share with me.
This on its own is pretty disappointing but as I have contacted the airline a few times during this booking I can see that in general they are awful to deal with and put the customer roughly behind something you’d find on the bottom of your shoe.
If you are booked with them, I wish you a better experience than me, but don’t hold out any hope if even the smallest of issue occurs - I have no faith they would be there for their customers.
We all know things go wrong from time to time, it’s life but when things do go wrong you would expect some support or even at the very least an explanation from companies that we pay good money to - Lufthansa is not one of those companies. I’ve had issues with other airlines in the past and have always been supported.
Worst customer service ever
I booked my flight directly via Lufthansa Miles&More through their Newsletter. They deducted money from by credit card but never sent a booking confirmation. Ridiculous customer service, no help, no refund, no flight ticket. No response and they even dropped the phone on me when i reached out after 3 hours waiting till my call is picked up. I wrote an official complaint - no response. Wow…. So i had to but a new ticket through booking.com. And i will NEVER EVER trust this airline again. Worst service i ever encountered…
Flights to Cyprus
I had booked flights to Cyprus, one of which was rescheduled. As a result, I received an email stating that I could either rebook or cancel the flights. The updated timetable showed that I would not be able to catch my connecting flight, so I had to take action.
I then clicked on “cancel” in order to receive a refund. Nowhere was it stated that I would only receive a fraction of the original price I had paid—and that only for one of the flights. Had I known this, I would have tried to rebook, which, however, was not possible for me within the short time frame (I only had three days, according to Lufthansa, to respond; otherwise the flight would have remained as it was—even though it clearly stated everywhere that I would not be able to catch my connection).
In the end, out of more than €700 for all the flights combined, I was refunded only €106, without this being indicated anywhere. For me, this is practically fraud. Of course, I filed a complaint, but judging by the reviews here, I probably shouldn’t expect anything.
Terrible airline
The flight attendant and all of their staff was very unpleasant and offensive. I never had an experience so unpleasant like flying with them ( I must say that I was robbed, and after that, accused to be a liar). Such a terrible experience, and I recommend everyone to avoid flying with them.
Left me stranded in India and cancelled…
Left me stranded in India and cancelled the flight. No attempt made to get me home another way. Rubbish
Horrible booking
I’d flyer with Lufthansa dozens times. And flights itself are fine, but booking and customer service…it’s just horrendous. It doesn’t let the buy tickets, crushing all the time. And when I’m trying to buy tickets again it showing inflated price. I’ve heard it only in USA, but still.
If I would have choice to fly different company..
I have never had a particularly good…
I have never had a particularly good flight experience on Luft. We have decided to avoid them for all future fights
Around Cancelled flight, lost baggage and still no compensation months ago our flight from…
Around two months ago our flight from Stockholm to Barcelona with Lufthansa was cancelled. This completely ruined our holiday. We had to wait for many hours in Poland before finally arriving in Barcelona.
When we arrived, we were told that our luggage was lost. Two suitcases were missing and were never properly located. We had none of our belongings and had to spend the entire week without our personal items. What was supposed to be a family holiday became the worst holiday we have ever had. It felt more like a week of stress and suffering than a vacation.
We submitted a compensation request and Lufthansa confirmed that we were entitled to compensation. They asked for our payment details and approved the compensation amount. However, after providing all the requested information, no payment has been made.
According to European passenger rights under EU Regulation 261/2004, passengers are entitled to compensation when flights are cancelled or significantly disrupted. Lufthansa has already confirmed this, yet the payment has still not been made.
We contacted customer service many times by email and phone, but unfortunately no one has helped us. I expect Lufthansa to respect passenger rights and basic customer responsibility. Situations like this create a very negative image for the company.
If this issue is not resolved soon, I will escalate the case through official aviation authorities and legal channels and pursue further compensation for the lost luggage and the damage caused to our trip. I will not ignore this situation!

Never again
I don't believe there is another airline that would offer 10 g (that's not a typo, I really mean 10 grams) of chocolate and a tiny bottle of water and not even a cup of coffee on a 6 AM flight... I am not flying with Lufthansa again
Lufganza didn't do their job
Lufganza didn't do their job, but passages paid. It was two parties flying out to Seattle. When 1st party couldn't board the flight, it was asked a ticket agent to remove a 2nd group from flight, because if part of the group are not flying, so no one is going. Agent didn't do this! 1st group rebooked the flight, but 2nd group couldn't, because Lufganza agent DIDN'T DO HER JOB by removing check in. It was still a time before flight departure, so another agent was ask to do the same. Second agent confirmed that check in for 2nd group removed, but when we tried to rebook the flight, sale agent didn't see a removal and couldn't process with re booking. 2nd group LOST money without refund because LUFGANZA screwed up. Customer service accepted a complain but never help with re booking. MONEY LOST BECAUSE OF LUFGANZA! THEY DONT CARE, even its their fault. Extremely disappointed in Lufganza, we thought its a best airlines, but not any more. Be aware.
Maybe worth it if you’re European
Only worth it if your country is in the EU. Tried to fly in to the US via the Frankfurt airport and was faced with the most ridiculous of lines. The line is split between EU citizens and everyone else. Eu citizens get to use biometrics to quickly scan in while everyone else must wait on a lazy human passport scanners who go on break before they can be replaced. Missed my flight because this line took 2 hours. Separating the line by time of departure was the least they could do!!
Cancelled with 24-hours notice—Lufthansa’s strike ruined my Spain trip!
Extremely disappointed with Lufthansa. My entire trip from San Diego to Madrid (via Munich) was cancelled with only 24 hours' notice due to a last-minute union strike. While they issued a refund for the flight, I’m left out of pocket for non-refundable museum tickets and the sheer stress of a ruined vacation.
A strike is an internal management issue, not "extraordinary circumstances." I am officially requesting the €600 EC 261 compensation per passenger for this disruption. Lufthansa, do the right thing and compensate your passengers for your internal labor disputes. #Lufthansa #TravelNightmare #LufthansaStrike #PassengerRights
Also, worth to mention that Lufthansa was not even staffed with live agents to answer customers calls and instead they forced the impacted customers to talk to Chatbot to try to find the alternatives, in which their Chatbot was not even trained to do and as result it redirected me to call the live agent line with at least 2-hour wait time. I have a screenshot taken from the chat that showed I was at 666th position in the queue. Unbelievable!!!!
Luftansa is not reliable
I called customer service before booking tickets to confirm that there were still spots available for dogs on the flight. They confirmed that a spot for a dog was available, so I immediately booked the tickets. Just 5 minutes later, when I called again to reserve the spot for my dog, I got a different person on the phone who said that this specific flight did not accept dogs at all, not that the dog spot was already taken.
I couldn’t get a refund for the ticket, so I lost the money.
Pilot strike canceled a flight and not rebooked
Pilot strike canceled a flight and Lufthansa failed to rebook it. Company travel agent had to book me on a $940 replacement flight. Chat AI and human chat agent were of zero help. Disappointing process and low resiliency from an airline that used to be strong.
The worst company.
The worst company.
Cancelled flights no offer of refund, and aggressive customer service staff.
If they had any competitors they would be out of business, I will never use them again.
LH - Incompetent - Scandal Company
Writing with Lufthansa Strike Mar 12 -13 2026: In support of striking pilots and crew. I am a passenger, affected. LUFTHANSA - the company: THE WORST!!! - 1. Website crashed, nobody available. 2. Rebooking impossible. 3. 1 Day later - I get a broken link for a supposed rebooking. Link does not work. 4. Passengers left high & dry 5. Lufthansa and THE GERMANS aggressively pushed out most competitors for continental and central Europe. 5. Most flights handled via FRA (Frankfurt) 6. FRA always breaking down, always problems. 7. Now: Lufthansa AND THE GERMANS CAN NOT HANDLE their own business 8. Plus: Fired everyone through Covid, not able to rehire, now in 2026 still thousands of open jobs. They are barely operational!! 9. LH is a despicable scandal company.
HORRIBBLE
My flight was cancelled just a few hours before the scheduled departure. Without any consultation, I was automatically rebooked to completely different dates that do not work for me.
Trying to contact customer service was nearly impossible. The only available option was a chat, where I waited 3.5 hours in the queue. When an agent finally joined, they left the chat after just a second without providing any help.
This level of service is absolutely unacceptable. Cancelling flights at the last moment, rebooking passengers without asking, and then making it practically impossible to reach anyone for assistance shows a complete lack of respect for customers.
Extremely disappointing and frustrating experience.
Avoid! Even cheaper airlines have more to offer!
You know what they say. People tend to write reviews only when they have something negative to say. And maybe that's necessary. Let me begin by saying I'm a frequent flyer who's been at almost every corner of the European continent and I've never had a positive experience with Lufthansa (including Eurowings). I don't recommend this airline to anyone, avoid it like the plague, and this was the last time I booked a Lufthansa flight. I fell for the super cool "offer" I received, you see. In a nutshell this is how it goes with Lufthansa: Your flight will be delayed. Every time. For many hours. If your flight is not delayed for 3-4 hours minimum then it is changed to a different aircraft at a different departure time and gate, plus several of delay. And if it's not that either then you get a special treatment: A sudden strike by the personnel who, apparently, are asking for more money and benefits for their "excellent". Your flight gets canceled and you don't fly at all. From then you're on your own. This was the last chance I gave to Lufthansa. Usually it's "you're getting what you paid for". Well, cheaper airlines such Air Baltic somehow have a much better track record than Lufthansa. Curious. Maybe fix your service first to help your business grow and striking won't be necessary in the first place. I thought I'd be one of the few with a negative review here, but now that I see many more with similar experiences I feel vindicated.
Loyal Customer Needs Urgent Rebooking
I have always traveled with Lufthansa and have never had any issues – I’ve been very satisfied with your service in the past.
However, my flight from Sarajevo to Stavanger was cancelled, and I am unable to rebook online because the AI chat assistant keeps crashing. I urgently need a flight on 14th March.
I hope Lufthansa Customer Relations can assist me immediately. Thank you for your understanding.
Edit - Even before I got this review published, problem was solved. I’m very pleased. Only thing is, I would like an email of rebooked flight for a confirmation.
