Great trip to Nepal and Bhutan with Lumle Holidays.
Very good choice of hotels. Helpful guides in both locations and travel plans all went smoothly. I will book again with Lumle
The Golden Triangle trip to India didn’t disappoint. Excellent, very knowledgeable tour guide who went out of his way to ensure we had the best experience possible. Wonderful accommodation too. The organisation from first booking with Lumle Holidays until the end of the trip was superb. This was an exciting, very busy trip which did require a lot of energy. An add on of a couple of days to relax in Delhi before flying back to the UK might be a good idea for some people.
We booked a trip to Sri Lanka on the recommendation of my sister who has previously travelled with them. Regrettably our trip had to be cancelled due to the conflict in the middle east. Lumle provided a full refund as soon as our flights were cancelled by Qatar. We were very happy with their prompt communication and options provided and our requested refund arrived in our bank within a few days of the cancellation. We will definitely rebook with Lumle as soon as the airspace reopens safely.
We had a great time on our 20 day Perú, Argentina and Brazil tour.
All the hotels were great and the facilities/breakfast were as you would expect.
We felt that it was the correct amount of time in each location and it was nice to finish at Buzios which has a very relaxed vibe after a very busy itinerary.
All of the included tours were good and the local guides were polite helpful and very enthusiastic.
Our only criticism would be that we were picked up to do our tour of Christ the Redeemer with another group of others who went on to sugarloaf mountain with the same guide,it seemed strange that we were not also included on the sugarloaf mountain tour as well especially as they were dropped them off first before we were taken back to our hotel at around 1330.
All the itinerary ran very smoothly and once again would highly recommend Lumle holidays and would definitely consider booking with them again, this is our third Lumle Holiday.
We were a bit worried we didn’t have a guide with us, but I found that really worked out well. Only ten people in our group, which was a lovely size. It was a holiday that was different, but we really enjoyed it.
Apart from one morning when travelling onto another hotel the bus did not turn up. It was sorted out and after about an hour and a half another one came.
The organisation of all involved from the meet aand greet to tour guides was incredible
We booked with Lumle Holidays for a trip to Asia from Vietnam to Cambodia and Thailand in 2025. From our first communication to just prior to the trip Lumle were excellent in sending through information to help plan and apply for visa's and make our trip as smooth as possible. Lumle kept us up to date with any changes as they happened throughout the lead up to our holiday and were very quick in replying to my email queries which made the planning less stressful. They were always courteous when talking on the phone and very knowledgeable when answering any queries. Unfortunately, due to the issues in the middle east the holiday was cancelled a number of days prior to departure. Once again, Lumle were very helpful from the moment they informed us of the cancellation, explaining what happens next and right up to the refund. I cannot thank Lumle enough and I will not hesitate to book with them again.
It did what it said on the tin. Lumle were totally seamless from pick up at Delhi Airport up until our return. The guide Vikram needs to be commended as he bent over backwards to meet the group needs and his knowledge was exemplary. We would go as far as to say he made our Lumle holiday. Prior to going on the holiday Lumle kept us fully informed and the printed itinerary and details were perfect. The highlight of our cultural holiday was the safari in which we saw a leopard and a tiger in the wild and going to the elephant sanctuary where we fed the elephants. Perhaps we were fortunate that on this trip there were only eight in our group and we all got on even visiting an Indian night club and have since formed a WhatsApp group. Thank you we would highly recommend Lumle as a travel operator.
Booked a holiday in Sri Lanka in July 2025 flying with Qatar Airlines with stopovers in Doha. Due to the uncertainty of the Middle East and FCDO advise against flying into Qatar I contacted Lumle who offered various options which unfortunately were not suitable but who then offered a full refund in time for me to book a replacement holiday. A first class service especially considering the number of clients they must be having to deal with during this period of unrest.
We didn't manage to visit Thailand, Cambodia and Vietnam because of the crisis in the Gulf. The response from Lumle was exemplary in that we were offered three options, to take a rain check until Dec 2027, to go somewhere else with them instead of a full refund. We were relieved to not be going as we feared being stranded, but Lumle response eased our stress levels. So we are grateful to them.
Shortly after it became obvious that our flights into and out of Doha would be cancelled we were able to talk to somebody at Lumle and shortly after the conversations we received an email with details of our options. We gladly accepted the option to take the same holiday before the end of 2027 without any extra payment.

Due to the recent war in the Middle East Lumle had no choice but to cancel my holiday to Thailand as we were flying through Doha to reach our destination. They offered me a choice of total refund or to change the dates keeping the same itinerary at no additional cost.
I explained that my friends were on the same trip and were flying through Istanbul so they were still going. Lumle managed to secure me a flight to Thailand through a different route at no additional cost. I found this amazing as we were at the start of the war, prices of alternative flights were shooting up and we were due to fly out in only a couple of days.
I accepted this offer and as fate would have it my father suddenly became seriously ill. I contacted Lumle immediately and asked them if I could go back to the original offer as I didn’t want to go away with my father so ill. Lumle arranged this for me, they were brilliant with me all the way through this stressful time, I am now taking the holiday in November.

Communication was a little delayed which was not surprising given the huge uncertainties in the Middle East, however the decision to cancel/postpone the holiday was well communicated and our decision acted on incredibly promptly

I went with my daughter to Nepal and Bhutan and we had a wonderful trip. We were very pleased with the itinerary and found it all very interesting and varied. Some people may find the pace quite fast, but we loved it as it maximised the time we were there and we felt it was good value for money. For Bhutan, you need to be fairly fit as the altitude makes one quite breathless, but the Tiger's Nest Monastery was completely worth the climb. The hotels were of a good standard, the guides were very knowledgable, and we felt it was an unforgettable experience.

The pull of this holiday was Bhutan as it is the only part of the Himalayas we have not visited. I found it very underwhelming especially the food which tended to be the same buffet more or less for lunch and dinner. Also as I do not eat meat the alternative every time was omelet or fried egg - very poor. In most cases the temperature of the food was warm at best, again very poor. Despite being told how much fruit was grown in Bhutan we only ever seemed to have water melon or papaya offered to us. I felt as if we were being fed for the cheapest possible amount. Breakfasts were not much better and again I had to resort to eggs. I found it very difficult to change money despite the guide saying it was very easy to do and finally managed to change some in Thimpu at a shoe shop, though he hadn't quite got enough to complete the transaction. One of our group had an accident while walking on the scenic nature hike to Changangkha Temple which was meant to take an hour. We never got to the temple though no-one explained why - I can only assume it was because of the accident though we had walked for almost 2 hours. Finally I think it should be stressed how difficult the hike to Tiger Nest Monastery is due to the altitude. I found it hard and am a frequent walker. A few other listings in the itinerary didn't happen, again with no explanation as to why not so better communication is needed.

I’m so happy that i booked my trip to Thailand and Singapore with Lumle, they were very accommodating with all my queries both pre trip and during the holiday. The whole trip was well planned and the included excursions were great. There should have been 6 people on our trip but 4 cancelled (presumably ) as we flew the day after the flare up in the Middle East, which meant that we had private transfers to and from all hotels and our own personal guide on the excursions in Bangkok. Some of the transfer drivers were surprised when they found out it was just us two, so I guess there may have been a bit of miscommunication there but it was not an issue and we were well looked after.
All in all it was an amazing holiday and fantastic value, all the hotels (3) in Thailand were luxurious with a huge selection for breakfast, the one in Singapore a little less so but still comfortable, in a great location and at least 4 star. The included excursions in Bangkok were amazing and so well executed.
Lumle are very good at communicating with you both at home and abroad and quickly resolved any questions I had. I am happy to recommend them to anyone looking for a long haul holiday on a small budget.

We booked with Lumle Holidays a holiday of a lifetime to South Easy Asia. We saw this advertised on Travelzoo and we booked 9 months ago. Due to Trump’s Middle East farce our holiday was cancelled 5 days before our departure. The team at Lumle were obviously under enormous pressure but they kept us informed and offered us several options but as the holiday was to celebrate my 70th birthday and our wedding anniversary and it would have been difficult to arranged a different holiday with the same dates, we chose to get a refund. This has just been processed and we will look to arrange another holiday early next year with Lumle!

We were a group of six so we easily communicated to each other and our guide. Our guide was quite knowledgeable and experienced. we enjoyed the food, and the many experiencial outings.

Unfortunately our holiday was cancelled due to airline restrictions due to the recent Iran war. Lumle was excellent in providing correspondence’s and updates. They were prompt in offering us a full refund. I will definitely be booking with Lumle again in the near future.
