The courses are good, packed with information, but I feel some technical stuff should be updated every now and then.

What a huge shame that Lynda has gone…

What a huge shame that Lynda has gone massively down hill. I used to like Lynda and had an ongoing monthly subscription, which I used to dip in and out of, to take a number of fairly useful tutorials. However, since they've now re-branded as LinkedIn learning, I feel that I've been bullied into having to use their 'new' (un-intuitive) GUI and now can't easily find the content I want. Further, they 'upgraded' my account and changed it to a LinkedIn 'Premium' subscription, without my consent. End result is that I've had numerous discussions with their (so called) support people and I ultimately cancelled my subscription (& my associated PayPal monthly payment agreement) and no longer use their services. I also looked up some relevant news/background and saw that Micro$oft acquired lynda.com's parent company Linkedin in December 2016 - Coincidence, I think not!

Why can't big corporations simply leave something that works alone and allow happy customers to continue to use the services they want.

Shame on Micro$oft!!!

I found this website through google and enrolled for their online programming classes. They have bunch of small small duration videos and it is very easy to follow those useful short videos and even if you are not a native english speaking person you can easily understand those lessons.

I really love Lynda

I really love Lynda. As a small business owner, I have some incredible resources that I wouldn't have had without doing a degree. Once you find the right course, it's well worth the money.

Do not trust this site

Do not trust this site! I signed up for the free trial a few years back and once the trial was running out their own official guide for unsubscribing did not work ( the options to do so where not located where they officialy stated.) I found many others had this same issue. So they actualy removed those options at the time making it impossible without calling them on the phone. A site as big as lynda/linkedin would not do this by mistake. I phoned them up and finally got my subscription ended but they still charged me for the following month! I heard this was also a very common occurrence at the time.

A friend of mine signed up to lynda but due to unfortunate life circumstances he wasn't able to get a chance to use it and forgot about if for over a year. He later checked his bank account wondering why his money was so low. Lynda was auto renewing for over a year without notifying him! Despite the fact that he never used it they would not refund any payment. So yes lynda is close to being SCAM. They must get the majority of their money this way.

Needless to say they won't get one more cent of my money and I will continue to steer people clear away from using lynda/linkedin learning. These kind of busines practices are unethical and unacceptable.

Dissapointing

If you can find the right course then this can be good however far too many of the courses are out of date for the current versions of the software which is quite a drag and makes it frustrating.
I was really happy to find on re-subscribing an updated course for learning premier Pro 2018, the course is good so far and presented well. I decided upgrade to get the downloadable content as I thought it was essential to follow this particular course. I downloaded it all well enough but on unzipping the file structure was all wrong and was still trying to link to the instructors desktop.

I contacted Customer Services who replied with this:
"Thank you for contacting Lynda.com, from LinkedIn.

Your request has been received and escalated to the appropriate person for review. We will reach out to you if further information is required to evaluate your request.

Please let us know if we may be of assistance in the future.

Best regards,

Lynda.com Support Specialist"

One week later and no reply, I have emailed again today and if this is not sorted in 48 hours I will unsubscribe forever.

Dissapointing

Cancelled my subscription in April 2018…

Cancelled my subscription in April 2018 and received a confirmation email about the cancellation.

However, they still went ahead and deducted my account $34.99 in May and June - its distrustful behaviour from such an apparently big player. Im reading that this is becoming a habit of theirs - something is going wrong with the accounts department of this company, or else they are struggling and they are using funds illegally.

Lynda.com - please stop!!

I'm now spending an hour trying to get through to someone who will reverse these charges - not easy - already called 5 times.

I've learned so many new things from this site!

I love this site!! Our company encourages us to login and take courses, and there are a wide variety to choose from. Generally, when I don't know how to do something, I will just search for it online, but I've been using Lynda.com lately, and I've found some great information- and many of the results include things that I wouldn't find from a regular search engine. For example, I was looking up time management, and I found a video that reviews 10+ different apps/sites to try out, ranging from group planning apps to apps that let you create a pocket-sized booklet that you can custom design to fit your needs (shopping lists, calendars, food diaries, etc.). Great site!

Do not spend stupid money on this

s partnered with Linkedin and is bloody useless. Very limited courses and of poor quality. Generated auto payments and could not get refund. They would just ignore your emails.

They are not updating courses when its very important that the samples are current

They are not updating courses and not giving extremely import version information for some the course which happens to be VERY important sometimes. This has lead to me wasting my time going through training videos only to hit a point where the course is no longer relevant because something has been updated.

What good are courses for things that no longer work?

Super helpful customer service!

I signed up a month ago to Lynda to watch just one video that i need it for my studies. I completely forgot about the subscription and a month later i found out they charged me around 300$. I completely panicked!

HOWEVER, i called Lynda and they were super helpful!! They made me a money refund right away and did not have to give any further explanation, they understood my situation and with no hesitation they solve my problem!

Sure i will pay the yearly subscription when stepping into the corporate life! :D

Average - Instructor was nice

The instructor was nice but the quality of Video was poor. Disappointing that the platform fails when the teachers are so good and there are enough differences that it makes this training not relevant Especially for learning.

I won't pay extra to get the sample photos

I left because of their pricing, it is absurd they charge to download the sample artwork. That should be a no-brainer and included in the basic pricing. Any place else, the sample artwork / pictures are given with the courses as it should be.

They're nice.

I forgot to cancel the membership after my free trial which meant they billed me 240$ for a whole year of membership (monthly subscription for a whole year).
So I asked them if they could refund me the money and cancel my membershp, and before even one hour have passed they fulfill my request and give me back all my money. Even the first month I just started on!
Great service, and great tutorials.

A little pricey but worth the money!! Really please with my new membership to Lynda! You have pretty much everything you could possibly learn at your fingertips! If you're not on it everyday then I can understand why people get upset about the price, but still... love it!!

Won't give you what you paid for so I'll give some PR and save others

I asked if I could get the months I paid for credited to my account so I could take classes -I was unaware they were billing an old credit card. I didn't want a refund --just extended time to use for the months I paid for. No. I have told my HR Department and several friends & family to NOT sign up with Lynda. They never sent out confirmation notices about account status. I sure hope some attorney starts a class action against this company. In the meantime I'm going to tell all the admin groups I belong to NOT to use this company. WORD of mouth advertising. (update funny how they are "courting" my current employer to sign up--when I gave them information who to call and really went to "bat" for Lynda yet they NEVER called back--really?! Oh well they had a raving fan but know they have a "ruthless fan" who will continue to tell people my experience) Case #: 170610-002966

Price humbug

First they show 29.95$ per month. When you want to move on, the raise the price to 34.95 unless you pay for a whole year up front. I'm wandering what other surprices will wait... That is what I call HUMBUG.I do not trust this site.

Amazing!

Easy to use and great customer service all round.

A lot of the 1 star reviews are about people being charged when they didn't give any consent to be charge for premium membership. When you sign up, Lynda.com will ask for your payment details and will state something along the lines of - "you will not be charge for your trial period but if you don't cancel your account you will be charged on a monthly basis."

This isn't even in the "small print," it's in plane sight. Read before you act, that way you won't need to complain that you've been "ripped off." Because you haven't, you just didn't read what was in front of you.

Besides that, a fantastic system to learn from and unlike some of the people on youtube...Lynda.com is full of actual professionals! 5* Love it!

Lynda got hacked, and have no idea how to deal with it!

Lynda.com just sent out a mail that my (thankfully old account) might have been hacked, so just to see what they might have on record I logged back in.

No I see my (thankfully old & closed Visa card) still registered, but my address and other info still there.... So why not change the password for this account now that I know it´s might be compromised.... No... Can't....

I have to add a new payment method first.... For my maybe compromised account..... Well done..... Fix this NOW!

PS: Skriver på Engelsk da jeg ikke ved om info@lynda som den her anmeldelse bliver sent til, forstår Dansk og der ikke skal gå noget tabt i oversættelsen.

Edit: It is possible to change, but there is no easy way to find it, you have to go back to startpage, find account info, and change it in there.

Edit: Edit: No way to delete account... Really?
