Lyons Davidson were in contact with me very promptly following a collision last October. The staff could not have been more helpful or kind in those early days when I was quite emotional following the accident.
I was assigned Lauren as my case handler and she helped me through every stage of the process of claim with kind professionalism and patience. I was kept informed by telephone, email and by letter which helped keep all the information close at hand and hardcopy for our files.
Lauren's advice on what to expect and when to expect response was extremely helpful in managing my expectations and this followed through the entire process. I was delighted with the outcome and very satisfied with the work from Loyns Davidson especially Lauren.

I was the victim of the driver of a white van who drove into me in May 2023. My insurers appointed Lyons Davison as solicitors when the other party denied liability. I was told in August 2023 that my insurers were asking for the other driver's insurers to pay the cost of the damage, and that if they had not paid within 3 weeks Lyons Davidsons would pursue the claim. I received an email from Chloe in November 2024 asking me for information - the first contact from Lyons Davidsons. I do not know whether it was LV or Lyons Davidsons who were responsible for the 15 month delay. I found communication from Chloe was slow, and things appeared to speed up in June when Kimberly got involved. I am happy with the outcome, but was frustrated with the delays in a simple claim.

I was involved in a road collision on October 24 and Lyons Davidson were in contact shortly after. I was guided through the claim seamlessly by Lauren Martin. 9 months later the claim was settled. No complaints from me.

Lyons Davidson Solicitors are the best, they persevere with their dealings with even the most challenging cases.
They dealt with my case for over 6 years and didn’t give up until the case was won.
As anxious client I called them several times in a day throughout this period and they never complained.
I’m particularly grateful to Catherine my Case Handler

It was a pleasure, given the circumstances, to have Carly handle my claim. In my 50+ years of adult life I have probably worked with/employed dozens of solicitors and solicitor advocates across the UK. All these previous experiences I would describe as having been successful. My latest experience- with Lyons Davidson Scotland - has been by far the worst.
(1) Very briefly- I had an accident at a Local Authority gym due to faulty flooring. I injured my knee- tearing the meniscus. During the course of my claim the Local Authority admitted fault, so the only contention was the amount of damages: this required a medical report.
“K”, the solicitor at LD, was unable to make an appointment at my local hospital- about an hour’s drive away. She suggested an appointment elsewhere involving me in at least 5 or 6 hours of driving: too far for someone with a knee injury. Even using public transport would have been too much. After I declined this appointment, she eventually found someone at a hospital that was within range. I accepted.
I attended the consultation. When the report was forwarded to me -by “K”- it was full of errors and omissions. Dates were wrong. I was referred to as “she”. Reference was made to “a junction”. It appeared that much of the report was from a generic “cut and paste”, maybe for traffic accidents. Not only was this slapdash from the consultant, and slapdash by “K”, should the issue ever be taken to court then we would look bad- and any credibility would be undermined. I refused to accept the report and sent it back to “K” with my edits, for her to ask the consultant to change it. I don’t think this report should ever have been sent to me in that state; basic proofreading by a secretary would have picked this up.
I was finding the whole process debilitating and stressful. I was in constant pain, the medical report was a mess and lacked any credibility; I did not feel my solicitor was “on top of things”.
When I telephoned her to express my concerns about the report, and that it might be sent to the other side full of mistakes, she told me she couldn’t speak to me as she was “working on another file”.
I sent an email to the Complaints Partner, detailing concerns. He never replied. Instead, I had an email from the “Principal Associate Solicitor (Team Leader) Customer Services and Compliance Department”. The only issue immediately addressed was the incorrect dates- and that was blamed on the I.T. department.
(2) When I first engaged LD I was advised to take out an “After the Event” (ATE) insurance policy at a cost of £420. This made sense. If the claim was unsuccessful then the policy would ensure I was not out of pocket. The premium, I was told, would be taken from the damages awarded at time of payment.
After many months of protracted correspondence and “negotiation” I felt worn down and reluctantly accepted an offer of damages. There are about 100 emails between LD and me. I checked online to see what other settlements were for comparative injuries and I felt that what I agreed to was on the low side- but nevertheless I accepted. It was time to, metaphorically, “move on”.
About four months after I received the damages and repayment of my expenses, I received an email from “K” to say that she now realised that she had failed to take the ATE premium from the monies sent me in settlement and could I please send them the £420. She apologised.
I emailed her, asking them to reconsider and explaining why I felt it was wrong, copying in the Complaints Partner and the Team Leader. I have not heard from either of them. However, one of the things “K” wrote to me in reply was “Whilst I appreciate a claim can be stressful…..there was no requirement for you to (a) make a claim in any event, and (b) settle the claim at the point you decided to settle at.” She was telling me that it was my fault for making a claim….I suppose it came as no surprise that her response was defensive and somewhat perverse in its content, failing to acknowledge the points I had made.
