Disappointed!!!

I'm having a really hard time trying to make dinner reservations in Maastricht on 11 and 12 July 25.
I have tried 20 restaurants, phone, email and on line bookings. I received only two replies with negative responses. It would appear most restaurants will only accept reservations if booked in combination with Andre Rieu concert tickets.
At this point I would cancel.my trip, but gave already paid for the hotel and flights as a 70th birthday present for my husband.
I am really disappointed with the situation and not something I would have expected.
