If you don’t want the equipment you bring in for repair back use this company.

Completely dishonest company. I brought to Mac’s and a time capsule to the company for repair. In December 2024. They wanted to charge me the replacement value to repair which made it beyond economical repair getting the repairs done by them.

I contacted them in August to collect the machines, as they failed to contact me. They claimed that the owner for the shop Jonathan had left the business. However, his name is still there listed in Companies House. They claim that he took all the equipment that had brought in to Repair with him and that there was contact me with his contact details they failed to make contact.

Despite warning them that this is actually a criminal offence as well as a civil offence they failed to make any contact to make any effort to return my equipment.

They claimed the company just been taken over in April by new management, and an Asian Asian guy gave his name as the new owner. However, this does not marry up with the records in Companies House. The manager fails to disclose his full name and said that he didn’t know Jonathan‘s full name, who he claimed to have taken the business over from . explained that that was totally implausible.

I wouldn’t recommend this company

Great service

I've used Mac Repair in Nottingham a few times over the years, and it's always great service. From broken batteries to new SSD cards, it's a speedy service that cuts out the middleman of needing to use Apple.

During Covid, Jonathan will pop down to the door to chat to you and get your details to keep you safe, but also will communicate over email the whole time.

The price is great, especially when the computer is no longer under Apple guarantee, so get yourself to Mac Repair now!

Ask questions before you leave items for repair.

Please be aware that this establishment could use reconditioned and or stripped parts to make a repair and for consumer protection establish exactly what they are charging for New, Reconditioned, Used before choosing to accept a quoted price.
I have had two power failures whilst my Imac was turned on (I could not get the Imac to start up again), the first occasion I took it to Mac Repair Nottingham to be told a power supply replacement was needed at a cost of £150, this job seemed to take 15 minutes whilst I popped for a coffee, on a subsequent power failure where I could not get the Imac to start a local store closer too me simply showed me how easy it is to restart an Imac with such problems (No new power supply needed) and also stated that it seemed the power supply had not been changed on the previous occasion at all. I contacted Mac Repair Nottingham who told me the "Replacement" (If indeed there was one, I don't really know) was in fact a refurbished unit of the same age and type as my previous one (So no way to tell if it was replaced at all). At no time whilst in the store or upon asking for payment was it mentioned that they used an old part (Brand new parts are on the market for purchase) and to me £150 for 15 minutes leaves me feeling mugged (That's £600 per hour then). Ask exactly what you will be getting for your quoted price before you agree and ask if new parts are being used or not, also make any payments using credit card for additional protection.
