I was really scared to get our car…
I was really scared to get our car after reading all these bad reviews but since I had already booked and paid I felt I had no choice. When I got there I was told that I had to pay 300€ instead of the 110€ I had on my contract from the bookingsite. They insisted I had to pay 300 or else I wouldn't get the car. I paid and got the car, got to see it first and we wrote down every damage together with the salesman. Returned the car a few days later and I was sure I wouldn't see that 300€ again but today it showed up in my account!
In summary, the only bad experience we had with the company was the surprise deposit but we did get it back. I wouldn't rent here again or recommend it after reading all the bad experiences but we didn't have any bigger problems this time.

After keeping me waiting in a queue for nearly an hour, the tardy receptionist told me my car wasn’t ready, (despite it being well over an hour past the booked hire time) but a car, 10€ per day more expensive, was ready now. Due to time pressures I had no alternative I then to take it. Once I’d dodged all the high pressure sales pitches for insurance I went to collect the car. The car, a VW Tcross, was absolutely filthy both inside and out. There were so many marks, rubs, scratches and missing bits(wheel Centre) that the rental rep could list them all. Instead of offering another car the cowboy outfit offered the wash and clear it, if I waited! I didn’t have time to wait any longer, as I was already nearly 2 hours behind schedule due to their incompetence. I wouldn’t recommend this company to anyone, absolutely shocking.

Two months later they employ a debt collector and tried to double the initial 400 euro to 800 . Agreed to 500 but have no choice as threatened with a bad credit file if I did not pay. Note they were very quick to reply (within a day) to settlement offer as opposed to not replying to any customers queries. PLEASE DO NOT USE

They just accept cards from some specific banks and I didn't know that!!! brought my parents to travel around Italy and I lost my whole afternoon trying to handle this situation. the staff also horrible and and not well informed: had to explain them their own procedure!! please do yourself a favor and do not rent anything with them!

Awful, misleading and overall devious service with lots of hidden charges which are not shown to the customer, as the contract is scrolled through very quickly on a screen controlled by the Maggiore staff. Absolutely disgusting approach to customer service. Please avoid at all cost.
NEVER AGAIN
I had a car booked from the 27th (today)until the 3rd of August. I arrived and my card had a problem, I tried to fix it over the phone with my bank but it could not be done over the phone immediately(I would have to wait few days) or it could be done immediately but only at "my bank" which was about 800km away. I then called and asked to change my reservation but they said no. I asked to cancel my reservation, they said no. I asked if then could come and collect the car in a couple of days as the problem would then be resolved they said no. So basically they kept my money, they now have a free car that they can rent again but they have definitively lost a client. I am never going to use any brand of your group ever again. I should have come here and check the reviews and it would have been obvious that you are just bad business!!

Returning from a misadventure with the "Holiday Autos" & "Noleggiare.it" coup (arrivator and rude staff) who afterwards, booking, early payment and check in confirmation of booking, despite having paid 430 € with partial damage insurance and deductible of € 2,600, for a series of problems between them deny car rental. Family with two little girls and group of friends waiting for our story, I book with "Maggiore.it" with a debit card a higher category car and with Kasko insurance (without thoughts) for € 434 - 100 € petrol franchise, returned the day After.
Excellent welcome to the rental desk of the very kind and extremely helpful staff.
Super especially price considering Kasko insurance that avoids any concern as it ensures any type of damage.
Brand new, clean and perfect car.
With greater a truly exceptional experience after the disappointing Noleggiare.it to avoid like the plague !!

I have never met such a maffia team. They over charge, they don't provide invoice of rent or repair to be able to get repayment from the insurance company, they don't have any contact to reach them. Very disappointing and completely illegal how they operate.
Scammed with fuel cost
I've had a rental with Maggiore via DoYouItaly and been scammed with the fuel charge.
1) Increased fee upon arrival
Had to pay €242 instead of €152 on arrival.
(Extra for fuel, etc - which I supposed to get back if unused.)
2) Intentionally misinformed
Upon arrival, the lady representing Maggiore told me I do not need to refill the tank as they will charge me a very similar rate for the fuel as gas stations do and showed their rates which were indeed similar. I did not refill the tank, I returned it 5/8 full as documented by the dealer.
3) Billed €72,18 for 15L fuel
When I returned the car, I was billed an additional refueling charge of €45. Total refueling cost of €72,18 for 15L fuel instead of €27.
Surprisingly, the billed €72,18 matches their additional cost for the entire tank to the penny.
Conveniently, the invoice is missing the fuel volume information. It may appear I have returned the car with a completely dry tank. Consider how likely that is, when you want to catch a plane.
4) The refueling fee is €6.1 not €45
I went through your rental voucher after the fact which indeed does mention a refueling fee.

Scammers / never book in Maggiorie
Got a car in Rome Airport . Maggiore is the only my poor experience . I have never seen so rubbish service and racket thoughts . They gave me the car which wasn’t in my booking . I paid 100 euros deposit , but now they say that the wind screen is cracked somewhere they do not want even show . In addition I have to pay extra 150 euros for just nothing . Never book in Maggiore . They do not have email or chat to contact them . So, they will also charge you for calling . Never never never . They are legal criminals

I have been trying to contact this company for a breakdown of the cost of repair for damage I caused to one of their hired cars . I either ring and the phone is disconnected or at the airport it is not answered . Cannot find email address

DONT RENT! I know the tricks so I decided to choose rental with small deposit 100€. But when I returned there was a new mini scratch even not inside the paint. They wanted charged 300€ for it. When I complained they told me dont worry when you dont signature, they open a case and they charge nothing for it. I can not imagine someone can take a money from my account when I dont agreed the transaction. So they took the money from my account anyway. All deposit plus the rest what they calculated.

They refuse to unblock my deposit even thow i returned the car a month ago. They say it's my bank at fault, but i used the same card as for many other deposits that were relised in 3 days maximum.
More so, they laugh in may face over the phone.
An even more so they took some more money from my card without any receipt, without any reason.

People don't ruin your vacation! Believe me I took car many times and haven't problem with car never. In this company I took car 05.05 in Trapani. I'm waiting about 2 hours receive a car in airport, after girl tell me that you will receive new car Renault Clio. When I come to parking there was very cleaning car white colour, i look around and was everything ok, but when i will stop next place Erese I looked that left driver door was a liitle dent I haven't seen it before because was sun and it's dent not look. When I will drop off car I tald man who receive car, that please cheked history this car, because all rental car company have history from last client and wrote letter that I'm didn't do it. After about 2 hours when I will come to my airport I looked that company try take money from my card firstly 800 E, after 750, 650, 490, on next date 404 E. Of course I didn't receive my deposit, but please believe me better take another car company, even price will be more expensive.
It's really my first negative experience with rent car company in my life.
Scammers, I never got the guarantee back
I never got the guarantee back, neither the voucher for bringing the car with full fuel. They also tried to make me take a higher guarantee saying it was safe which I did but no money back. They didn't even have the office open, on their phone nobody was answering. I had to call another Italian car rental company to tell me where to go to pick up the car. Complete scammers.
