Issues after issues login in. Customer service unhelpful and have no time.

As an active volume seller ( since 2019 ) and buyer been very satisfied with the site, of course some pitfalls. Like whenever the customer decides to use an untracked shipping method and they claim not to receive items are a pain in the ass! But i would likely act in their favor since it happened to me sometimes as buyer! However not all mistakes lies with the seller/shipping company. Sometimes the buyers can lie about this! Anyway not every seller would have as much mercy as i do, so a tip when buying on marktplaats the best way to protect yourself on marktplaats is to always! Use tracked shipment atleast! Than you’ll have a ground to stand on when opening an dispute! And would likely end up in your favour! However when your focus is all about quality if your to lazy to pick the item up or you don’t wanna take a risk! Don’t buy it! You WON’T GET A REFUND FOR NOT AS DESCRIBED like on EBAY. Everything can be discussed but the seller has to AGREE!

Sooo long story short!
- always use ATLEAST shipping with t&t , signed would be better
- go for pick-up if possible
- when you don’t want to pick it up. Don’t buy it, if you are not willing to take a risk getting dissappointed !

Been scammed by a verified seller and they can't even do anything about it rather than saying contact Online Payment Platform a company that is not safe and cannot do anything about it as well. They don't have the necessary information on their help pages all pages are same and linking you back and forth with no new information, they don't even have a trustable payment system, even Facebook that would sell your data to anyone is a better platform to buy something.

This is the most useless platform I have been making deals, in my whole life. They have no responsibility to the things they do. It is easy to take money, harder to do something usefull. I had tipical (akording to other coments) situation. I bougth something on marktplaats, I have paid with betaaloverzoek, and than seller just run away, and that is it, money lost. I am asking, why we have to pay extra 40cents? They are not securing that payment, basicaly they do s**t. Those payment method is exacly safe as throwing money througth window and beliving that noone will take it. In my case i had to contact Police, answer hundred questions and after couple weeks we will se what they can do.

Now another question coming to my head, why, in the netherlands there are no safe place to sell second hand stuff?

To all Netherlanders, I want to inform you, that there are serious company in the world. In Poland (my root country) we have allegro.pl. When you buy something through allegro, you are always 100% safe. If you did not recive item, you contact allegro, they will pay you back all of your money. You will ask how? Becayse they feal resposible, they are paying you their money. Afterwards they are going to police and do everything what need to be done.

What is curious, I have payed with betaaloverzoek, it mean I have payed marktplaats not that guy. It means they are complicit in the theft . In every normal country, if you are helping thief to steal you are also guilty.

Off coure onlinebetaalplatform will soon starts explaining themselves that I should use "Gelijk Oversteken" But this is also joke. If seller send you stone insetad iphone, anyway they will send money to seller, because they see that package arrived.

What is the most funy? Till everything is fine, you are doing everything in one place, but when something goes wrong, you need to contact 3 different companys. marktplaats, onlinebetaalplatform and police. This is comedy!

That whole platform including marktplaats it is one big joke. Never again. I will inform everyone if police helped me.

P.S While trying to fill up Police form, I had missing data, because I have paid with super, ultra, mega safe protocol "onlinebetaalplatform" and I had no direct information about thief. What a mess.

This site is one big SCAM. Not being able to contact the support is intentional. There is no form of contact to report anything.

Fake security measurements, the advertising options don't actually get applied half the time and there are a lot of fake and ridiculous bids

Hi,
I live in Ireland and really want to buy an item on Marketplaats than I can't find anywhere else.
However, I can't complete registration with my Irish phone number. The area code is not available from the drop down menu. I can't contact the seller without first being registered.
Does anybody know a work around?
Customer service non-existent on the website.
Is there even a company email to contact someone for help.
Really frustrating !

Good place for sellers to spam you!
If you would to buy junk and being scammed you are welcome at Marktplaats.nl.

If i could give it a zero I would. This is the worst place to buy things from. People are shady, lying, send you broken things. And Marktplaats team is not being held responsible for anything fake sold on their website, anything that people send that is broken. They have that option for "guarantee of sending" where you can pay and your money goes first to marktplaats and then to the seller and you het a tracking code. However, people can send a pen in an envelope, tell you they're sending you a USB, put a tracking code on it and Marktplaats will do nothing about it because the tracking code says you've received it. Such scammer. More bad reviews please!!!! I hope they shut that platform down. It can be done so much better. And people tell you one price because they have "higher bidders" that you can't see because it can all be done in private messages and they're lying about it. Others tell you that they're not available on a certain day for you to come check the product out, you agree to one day after and then they sell it that very day then were not "available".

However it is a part of eBay there is no such thing as a buyer protection. There are many cheaters there.
Even if you use marktplaats payment method your money are not safe. In fact you will not be able to do anything if you don't get a product after you paid. I don't know what is the advantage of using it. It is simply another way for them to earn a coin by the "service fee". Customer support just sends you to the police if there are any problems between seller and buyer.

As I wanted to sell my car, I placed an advert on Marktplaats. However, I was charged for the advert, but the advert wasn’t placed. As you would expect to receive what you paid for, I tried contacting them to get this issue resolved. It’s mission impossible!! There’s no one to attend to customers except an virtual assistant who keeps stating subjects that are irrelevant. Meanwhile I have sold my car. My recommendation: don’t use this website!

This website is a piece of CRAP. Seriously Someone with basic coding skills could do a better job. the client loads super slow, everything lags what a pile of amateur crap!

This website always blocked my advertisement! I don't know the reason, but they asked me to give them 50 euro to further proceed! They say if you want to put the advertisement, pay 50 euro. So the client service man asked me "Heb je geld om te betalen?" So commercial and act like scammers, firstly I place there an ad for free, after a minute they asked me money. I am not sure that this behaviour is lawful at all. I will wait when the person who has more time than I will bring them to the court so they start to work in compliance with the law!

Furthermore, they have to have means of communication with the clients efficient, direct. That is to say, does not work with them. For another hour I explained my problem to the life chat, while Carine, Rufert, Marijke etc closed my chat with no explanation and not even starting a chat. If you read this message, you shall know that this communication with the client is not according to the law.

Either bring the website with the compliance with the law (efficient communication) or don't operate, because you policy fight against your own real clients, while the real scammers can walk free and scam other people.

I got 5 messages in one day to deliver the goods to London. How could I complain that it is a scam?
While you instead blocked me with no reason, while I wrote on the ad that no delivery possible for people from the UK, only personal meeting with the buyer! And they end up that I am a scammer.

So, i aware of the scammers that are surrounded in the marketplace. But the clientservice is very annoying, not helpful, not efficient and fighting with own real customers!!!

I created an account to buy something.

My account was suddenly blocked for no apparent reason.

Very difficult to get to customer service. When I did the person informed me:
"we found multiple suspicious ads/accounts" (I had placed no ads)

Then they told me I had not understood. Then, the best part:

"I have informed you enough. I wish you a good day." (logged out)

Worst customer service I have ever experienced.

As with all Dutch customer service this is non existant. The Dutch have not yet discovered customer service....they believe insulting clients is the way to go. So yes marketplaats is full of scammers and bargain hunters and gelijk oversteken is a joke and not more secure as there is no guarantee that the parcel actually contains what you bought.

Marktplaats keeps giving problems after problems, all the time and their helpdesk is horrible. I had problems before and it just keeps piling up. I hope that soon a competitor will come so I can go somewhere else.

I wish I could do without, but I can't because it generates too much revenue and traffic. But oh, did I wish I could stop my paid account.

Do not sell anything through Markplaats! It is so easy to get ripped off and stolen from. Their Gelijk Oversteken service is a quick way to lose your product without getting any money from it!!!!! Avoid using marktplaats!! The worst thing is that Marktplaats did not help me at all when I got ripped off. They do not have a customer service number and the person that "helped" me through the chat was really rude. Avoid Marktplaats!!

Did everything by the book for 8 years. All of a sudden they block my account, the reason "I contacted a seller that might have been fraudulent". How the hell am I supposed to know if anyone's good or not!!!!? Simply bad... and the customer service is nonexistent if you ask for a reason.

Really not happy with the rating system they use! A Belgium they took over (2dehands.be) had a much better rating system. Sadly they introduced there bad one into 2dehands.....

Most of the advertisements on the site are overpriced junk. It's diffiucult to get a reply from a seller. Trying to sell something is also not a great experience, people are trying to get a reasonably priced item (new acoustic steelstring guitar 50 euro) for 5 euro and refuse to budge.

But my main reason for hating this site is it's customer service. It's not possible to change your password because you never receive the mail from them. If you try to contact them they basically claim you're wrong and you should check this thing called a "spam filter".

I have been trying for months, cannot change this password and they have been hacked so now everyone can access my account and I can't do anything about it. Great.
