Don't use!!!!

Not happy with my experience. Not as bad as some people below. But I thought this was a branch of the government claims system especially as it had org in the website but its not. My fault I suppose, but they basically took half the money we were due back and even had the nerve to put a vat charge on it at the end... So I paid tax on something that I was getting tax back for!! So in the end we got less than half of what I was owed back!!! Joke

Another victim of this scam

Another victim of this scam. They disguise under the look and feel like an HMRC and they have never explicitly displaced about the charges during the application process. They send the letter with the cheque with 2 weeks delay as well. The websites is now closed and they have moved to a different name. Beware of this scam, please report to HMRC, whose should actually take action agains this scam using their service.

Experience of marriageallowanceclaims.org.uk

My experience mirrors virtually everybody else. It came up looking indistinguishable from the HMRC website, so I then completed the online claim form, submitted it and waited. After around 3 months, I then received the cheque for around half what was expected (because of the extortionate 42% admin fee), which arrived today. Strangely it was dated nearly a month ago. I found that the website is strangely no longer accepting new claims. I wonder why, could HMRC be clamping down on outfits like this one? Yes I received a payout, but anybody can do the same, so why can't HMRC put a stop to these people by only paying out directly to the tax payer, not an outside company?

Marriage Tax Allowance

We too have received our much depleted cheque for Marriage Tax Alliwance. On January 26 I went on HMRC site and checked out our eligibility for this Tax relief. I went back a few days later Googled up claim form, completed it and sent it off. And the rest is history. I was certain I had applied to HMRC. We wondered what new department was this Marriage Allowance Claims but never thought of a Third party involvement. Then we got the cheque after Admistration and Fees deduction. I cried. How could I have lost so much? At no time was I aware that I was using a Third Party. Should they not have to make people aware that they are a company claiming on our behalf? And is it not unlawful to claim such extortionate fees? Can HMRC not do something to make us aware of them? Then they "advise that this cheque is presented for payment within 30 days from date of letter." -19 days ago. This is such a Scam. Can anything be done? ??

Unfortunately i am someone who fell for this scheme. I honestly thought it was a government claim. when i went on to the website it only came up with a do you qualify screen then they sent a form through. They did not say anything about the 42% fee plus tax. I was awarded £899.05 for tax rebate but was sent a cheque from marriage allowance claims for £497.45. such a rip off

This is the PPI scam in a different form. Watch out for the T&C 'I unconditionally assign any income tax repayment to Marriage Allowance Claims' just above where you sign. Only for them to take a massive chunk of what you would get refunded. Go direct to the government for your full refund!

Complete scam company made to look like HMRC take 42% plus £24 for doing what is essentially a five minute job but not even doing that properly. Needed to call HMRC myself as they hadn’t secured the refund after 4 months. Government should stop this kind of ripoff company!

Money grabbers....NOT HMRC

Completely duped, didn't even see the terms and conditions in small same coloured text as form postage information.
This deed of assignment that has allowed my money to paid to them (for them to forward in an "orderly fashion" 3weeks). I called HMRC to find out where my refund was only to find someone else has and the application wasn't made throught the HMRC.
I've noticed HMRC have updated their telephone hold advise since this saturday and whereas Marriage Allowance Claims appeared with another claims management company at the top of google!! it is nowhere to be seen, just HMRC...

Do not even think about using them, do it yourself online or over the phone with HMRC.

I thought this was the official HMRC…

I thought this was the official HMRC site. I, fortunately, realized as soon as I received the registration confirmation email, and I read their T & C regarding their charges, so I will not be completing the form when it arrives.
Byt I'm still worried My as it says in the T & C that as soon as you receive the email, you've entered into a contract, but you can cancel BY POST ONLY within 14 days, do I need to do this, or can I just ignore the letter and form? Please help :(

DO NOT USE - Go directly to HMRC instead.

Nowhere on this website is it made clear that this is a commercial third-party operation which makes profit on the processing of claims, nor is one given any link to the official HMRC website or the information that claims can be made directly via gov.uk in a fraction of the time and at zero cost. Seeks to profit from a lack of knowledge of its customers.

I was doing a follow up after I had…

I was doing a follow up after I had made an application for a marriage tax allowance with the genuine HRMC site.
When I did a Google search to see how long it takes to process a marriage tax allowance, this site came up.

I answered 'Yes' to the question "Have you or your partner already registered for Marriage Allowance?" and straight away the following came up: Unable to proceed
Unfortunately, we are unable to help you any further.

I became suspicious of this website from the start as 1 it shows up as an 'Ad' in Google which means the people behind this site have paid a small sum to have their site come tops of the search result. Also, if you are entering personal data, the site should be encrypted with a certificate i.e the URL should start with https: it doesn't

I did a google search for this site and reviews about it and came across Trustpilot so added my experience so others will not be scammed.

Just to add, if you are unsure about a site, type in the URL yourself. For the HMRC website, I believe it is hmrc.gov.uk. ALWAYS check the address of the site and ensure that it is encrypted with https before entering any details.

Marriage Allowance Claims will take what is rightfully yours!

The process is set up to look like a genuine HMRC process, but the will charge for almost half of your rebate and hold it for three months. DO NOT USE THEM THEY ARE THIEVES EXPLOITING LEGAL LOOPHOLES TO STEAL YOUR MONEY FOR DOING NOTHING YOU CAN'T DO YOURSELF DIRECTLY THROUGH THE HMRC.

Scam

Totally scam. They are a 3rd party company and not related to HMRC. Their website (with .org) and the format of the letter make you think they are from HMRC but they are not. I've check their website and got suspicious with the 42% fee.

Thanks to similar reviews on Trustpilot, I have concluded they are a 3rd party company who tries to scam you.
