I would do your research before you…

I would do your research before you consider joining here. You will be told that you are working with people who have trained with Bruce Lee!! When you have a little practice with the gloves and you will be made to feel like you are the next Bruce Lee. They will then talk you in to parting with £1000 for a year. But they fail to tell you that it’s non refundable!! Please make sure you ask for the terms and conditions before you sign any paper work!! They are good at talking you in to paying money. But you will not be able to get any refund. They are unhelpful and patronising! You have to cancel with 3 months notice! There are way better places to train where you don’t have to sign your life away!
If you do sign and want a refund get ready for a proper fight with the bank and citizens advice. I was lucky as I got my money back with the bank. But a lot aren’t and have lost money. I wouldn’t go here if it was the last place on earth. Just want you to pay alot of money for a mediocre place. Scammers!!

Joining MAC best thing ever!

Joining MAC is the best thing I've ever done!!! After the hell of Covid and struggling with Mental Health and losing weight though health condition, i decided i wanted to get out there and try MMA.

I started off 2 classes a week, and slowly increased over time. Within my first year i feel in love with it so much that i started to help coach the kids.

2 years though my journey and i have found not only a new way of life to follow but a new me, i feel happy again, healthier, stronger and more confident.

All the staff at Dudley are so helpful and always willing to listen to what you want to get out of your experience. It is the perfect safe space for everyone.

Scam Artists

Avoid this place at all costs. They are nothing but a well hidden scam designed to fool parents into paying extortionate prices while fooling others into signing contracts with hidden clauses. They are overpriced and offer no interest in giving refunds even if you have not used any of their services.

I personally paid the entry fee of £149 on the 11th of May and luckily did not sign any contract due to their printer malfunctioning. They also gave me some pads, gloves and a shirt; which I returned the next day in less than 24 hours asking for a refund as I have reconsidered due to financial reasons. They flat out refused and said I could only get £40 back for returning the gloves and pads. After asking why this was the staff member failed to give any answer and told me that he would have to speak to someone else about it.

It has now been over a month and I have spoken to over three different staff members who all seem to just give different excuses such as "waiting to hear back from the financial department" or later telling me that I can't get a refund due to "covid" or for "insurance/admin costs". Which is quite amusing to hear considering I wanted my refund the next day and that they hadn't done any "admin" in the first place.

Unfortunately I am now having to go through the long painful route of seeking legal help in an attempt to get my money back. So in hopes of preventing others from falling for their tricks I am writing this review. DO NOT be swayed by their positive reviews which I would presume are either fake or are members who have been pushed into writing them. Avoid this business at all costs!

TLDR: An overpriced shady business that has no respect for your money or your time so do not be fooled into giving any to them.

Cheats !!

Cheats !!! Warning !! Stay away. I have lost £580 in one month. I went to their Stourbridge center. They asked for a fee of £200 per month for 2 kids and a deposit of £395 which included first month's fee. When I decided to walk away they offered a reduced fee of £160 per month and first payment of £350 if signed up immediately which I accepted. I had to buy gloves and pads etc which cost another around £80. After 3 weeks they asked for a meeting with another instructor from Halesowen named Leslie. She said that in order for kids to progress to next level (they cleverly name it an "Upgrade") a new fee structure is required. I refused to accept that. She said that in order for kids to progress further towards black belt, more investment is inevitable otherwise they would not make any progress. I stopped going there immediately and raise a complaint via email which they never responded to. By that time they had taken another payment of £160 for next month. However, they are very cunning to take your sign on Standing order form rather than direct debit so you cannot ask for refund via bank. Reported the case to Citizen advice bureau and they referred to Trading standards and sent letter via recorded delivery. Its being investigated. If more people will report them then they will definitely take immediate action. They never gave me a fee structure upfront. So according to them the monthly fee I was paying was for attending the class only. To progress towards black belt, there would be additional fees per month which was never mentioned when I signed it up. Obviously after paying a large deposit, normally people would agree to increase in fee to avoid losing their deposit if they stop going there. If after reading this you are still tempted to go there then make sure you have everything in writing. Also on their website they offer a free one month lessons (as I came to know later) but I was never told at the time of joining. They will show you photos of Bruce Lee and how their top instructor was directly trained by Bruce Lee's student blah blah ... You have been warned ...!!!
