We purchased a vehicle from Martyn's Car Sales in March 2023 with a 3 month warranty. Five months later we decided to do an early check before its next MOT. We were told that it had a serious issue with corrosion in the subframe that had been hidden by mastic and would need £2,000+ of welding to make it safe. We were also told there was no way it should have passed its last MOT. We checked on the Government website and it was a complete pass with no advisories.
We contacted Mr Neville of Martyn's Car Sales who admitted he did not do safety checks on the cars he sells but trusts the various garages he uses for the MOT's. There was nothing he could do for us. So I would urge anyone wanting to purchase a vehicle from this company to take a mechanic with you before you buy or go elsewhere.
