I purchased the max flight stick R22 controls to give me a head start with my PPL(H), combined with X-Plane 12 and VR headset I was unsure if it was going to help with my real life flying. I did around 10 hours on the sim practicing take offs, landing and hovering before commencing my first real lesson. My instructor was astounded that I could pull off a near perfect hover within my first lesson and I was reluctant to tell him i’d been practicing on the sim at home as I preferred for him to believe I was just incredibly talented instead! Although the sim controls lack the feedback of a non hydraulic equipped helicopter like the R22, the proportion of control input required can be dialled in perfectly in x-plane and it really helps with learning and practicing how to coordinate the controls. Great customer service too, after accidentally snapping off the USC-C connector Max kindly offered to send a brand new cable junction box free of charge!

I recently purchased an H145/H160 cyclic from Max Flight Stick. It worked great but one of the buttons wasn't quite right.
On contacting Max, he offered to replace the cyclic top, without hesitation. He was as good as his word and quickly sent me a replacement.
After he knew that I was happy with the replacement, he made arrangements for return of the original.
The whole process was easy and Max kept me informed throughout.
I would not hesitate to recommend Max and his flight stick products, even from the "other side of the world" (UK)!

My helicopter control in MSFS just got a whole lot better too.

I'm a happy owner and user of a R22/44 MaxFlightSticks for already a month. This is probably the best investment in my helicopter training and in myself I've made in my life. At the beginning, I struggled with calibration of the sticks but with Max's help, I managed it.
It is definitely a huge help in your training for PPL/CPL and beyond. In combination with real training, it excels your learning and gives much better results. The ability to train your skills on a real aerodrome (EBNM Namur in my case) and then polish them on Xplane12 same aerodrome helps a lot. And sometimes for fun, you can fly in Dubai or Paris, NY, LA, or wherever you wish. Xplane12 is really great in physics of the flight but MSFS is better for more realistic images. Xplane12 images are okayish but not WOW.
The assembly and setup are not complicated. Really happy with this sim controls and happy to recommend to others. Those who live near Brussels are welcome to my place to come and try. Find me on LinkedIn in case you wish to try before buying.
