Worst credit card I have ever had..
Worst credit card I have ever had... IN MY LIFE. I have had this credit card for 18 years (it was originally Propsera and then MBNA took it over). I almost never use it because it constantly declines for no reason but I have kept it because long term revolving credit is good for credit rating. I've gotten so tired of the crappy service and it declining $1.20 automatic google storage payments or more recently when it declined a $6.00 payment for a social media ad. In this case I received a text notification asking if the transaction was fraud. This is Good... Texted back that is was NOT fraudulent... easy right? ... and then they still proceeded to decline 2 attempts at the $6.00 transaction... EVEN though I now keep the account in a $100.00 credit in hopes of avoiding my $20.00/month in automatic payments being declined.
My husband has an MBNA card that he uses frequently for business and it is Frauded ALLLLL THE TIME. I seriously can not say enough bad things about this company or card. Go somewhere else, anywhere else.
BAD AT CATCHING FRAUD AND ERRORS ON CUSTOMERS CREDIT REPORT
They need to do a better job of catching fraudulent transactions on the cards. I have not used my card over 6 months and had a zero balance. Yet, they show I have missed 3 payments for a $8 amount that I never charged to my account. They messed up my near perfect credit score due to their own error and reporting. MBNA needs to do better and rectify problems as soon as their customers call them.
5% increase in balance transfer rate - this sounds like fraud
Used as a balance transfer card to reduce interest on main cc. I knew after so many months 0% interest would revert to 12.99% THEN - get notification that 12.99% now going up to 17.99%
WTF?! - a five percent increase in their previusly stated rate? Outrageous!
Negative 5 Stars
Being a card holder for more than a decade with ACU and when they handed over the reigns to MBNA to take over their credit card division, I realize this was not my friendly business partner anymore. Long story short I was due $10 on a payment, which I got a call and kindly informed them I made an online payment for the total amount on the weekend. It did not register yet on their end as of Monday and they told me they would make a note on file. I went to pay for groceries and my card was declined. I called and asked did you not see on file that I made the full payment on my account this morning when I spoke to your rep. Apparently it was standard due to the over due payment of $10. OMG! I decided there and then this is a credit card company I cannot support due to poor business to the point of almost petty. I see why they only have 1.3 star rating. Negative word of mouth unfortunately travels fast I guess.
5% balance transfer hike
5% balance transfer hike. I just received a letter in the mail only a few months after transferring my balance to MBNA. I was sold at the %12.99 rate, just to find out today I am being hiked up to %17.99. With so many other companies offering a much better deal I see no point of sticking with a TD product. I don't know if this is TD passing off its billions of dollars in fines to it's customers or if they are just being greedy but I will have no part in it. Already in the process of switching to Scotiabank to keep a low interest. I hadn't realized they had this bad of reviews. Should have checked trustpilot before going with them in the first place.
They make it impossible to pay them
They make it impossible to pay them. They want you on an eternal payment plan and refuse to let you pay them in full. I've had their "Amazon MasterCard" for less than a month. I've had to battle just to create an online banking account with them so that I can pay them the $57 dollars I owe them from the single purchase I made and on their online banking site or their app I have not had an option where I can pay them in full. Do NOT TRUST this. This seems like it was designed to tank your credit.
Absolute garbage
Absolute garbage. Had the Amazon Card through MBNA. This month the card expires, I haven't been sent a new one. Contacted their garbage customer service, and they said they would not be reinstating the card because my card was overlimit once a few months ago? (Purchased something and mistakenly chose the wrong card, it was over by about $50). This was quickly rectified and the balance on the card has been $0 for a couple months now. Blows my mind. I have SEVERAL credit cards, and honestly MBNA just isn't worth it.
F*** your bank you fraudulent…
F***k your bank you fraudulent c***suckers They're a scam company. Don't use them. They will f**kin access your account and steal money out of your account and tell you that you owe them.
Stay away at any cost .card compromised…
Stay away at any cost .card compromised and they won't do nothing about reported charges. Infact they don't know anything about them and they keep charging you interest on them .took 4 hours on the phone with no result .being transferred form one dep to another and no result .no one knows anything and won't di anything .Just transfer to get rid of you very Ery unprofessional .zero star Mbna .Last four digit on my card 8067.not only you lose,a good customer but also I will have to take legal action against you
If there was a zero stars that is what…
If there was a zero stars that is what they would get. Customer service is terrible. They have been calling a place of employment for a staff member. We have asked them to stop calling and they refuse to stop calling. They say it is not their problem and will continue to call. Very unprofessional. Big thumbs down for sure.
Terrible customer service
Terrible customer service. I tried to dispute an unauthorized charge but they sided with the seller even after the product and service are taken back and seller promised a credit (have a proof) but never sent it. I showed it to MBNA but they couldn't care less.
They negatively affected my credit…
They negatively affected my credit score. I paid off my balance in full. Yet they reported unpaid. It lowered my score. It’s mbna’s mistake yet it harmed me.
Very frustrating
Very frustrating. Logging in from my iPhone takes multiple attempts. I have no issues with other financial institutions. Logging in to MBNA using my laptop seems fine.
Also, avoid balance transfers. It isn’t a great an offer as it seems. Lock your card until the balance is paid off. Any purchases using the credit card (Amazon) will result in interest charges. Doesn’t matter if you pay the purchases in a timely matter. The system cannot separate the two. I complained and they reversed the charges. All in all, they seem to be a Mickey Mouse operation. I have multiple credit cards (about 8) and none of them comes close to being so frustrating to deal with.
Thank you!!
I dealt with Wiyi (pronounced 'We' I believe) and he was above and beyond! I was trying to update my phone code and the service just wasn't cooperating. I tried at least 3 times and each time, he was incredibly patient and kind. As well, I had to change the spelling of my name on my card, and he handled that perfectly. So 5 stars to MBNA for employing such a totally nice guy!!
I activate my card
I activate my card, any day I call they said look like the money is about to be released tonight" what a lie". Withholding the $$$, or doing some sort of bussiness with it I dont know. They used to be good, but not anymore.
Bad service for a credit card with Amazon
I applied for a credit card with Amazon. They called me the same day. I answered a series of questions. They told me I will have my card in 4 to 5 days. 2 months later, still no card. I call them to be told that there was an error and that the request was not sent and that I must make a new request. I told them I wouldn't do it.
Worst customer service ever
Worst customer service ever ! Nobody in customer support could answer me or give me a credit limit increase. So disorganized.
The difference between DISPUTE AND FRAUD DEPTS
Recently I have experienced multiple security breaches for fraudulent charges from numerous companies and sites.
My card has never been used anywhere but at Amazon.ca.
A total of 28 charges appeared on my transaction details . From places like bandcamp, bloomchic, uber, google, Microsoft store and many others.
After the first few my card was locked and blocked. The I was informed to wait till a new card to be mailed to me at home.
I use a online app to keep track of my statements a d transactions. Before the ink could even dry on the envolooe holding my not even mailed out yet card. It was added to my online account with out my knowledge or authorization. I could only see the last 4 digits of the newest card which I had not received. Next thing 20 new transactions appeared that were not authorized by me or made with my knowledge. I call customer service how can that be I ask I have not even received or looked at this new card and its already been falsely used on my fdibe. Why was it added to the same account as the previous locked and blocked card account. It just gave the thieves a brand new card to destroy in my name. I did not validate or access this new card gosh I have not even received it and its had another massive security breach.
They explained to me which did not make any sense what so ever that when I notified them of my account unauthorised charges I was transferred to the DISPUTE DEPT instead of THE FRAUD DEPT..
( WHICH WAS THE REASON THIS NEWEST CARD I HAD NOT EVEN LAID EYES ON OR ADDED TO MY ONLINE ACCOUNT) I say that does make any sense I informed you that my card was and still is being used by others to purchase multiple products and or services. You lock n block my card but then add anew avenue for them to steal from me again.
It is insane. So now I have no card my credit is now in jeopardy and my credit score could be tainted for life
100% do NOT get an MBNA credit card
100% do NOT get an MBNA credit card. They have refused to investigate fraudulent charges and have sided with a scam company called AUDIOGALORE and HOUSE PROTEKT OH. They insist the scam companies have "proof of agreement" but will not provide it.
Disappointed
I have been with mbna for over 15 years, I just wanted to access online account statement, my login wasn’t working so I called customer service, they said I didn’t clear security , so I cancelled my card after all these years.
