Review of the Malaga outlet village
We travelled for 30 minutes by train to the outlet village but when we got there there, we spent two hours looking around and there was absolutely nothing that was suitable. The prices were too high - you can get better deals online.
Don't waste three hours of your holiday travelling and walking around here.
Appalling outdated and useless management
Absolutely dreadful.
I drove a considerable distance after checking the website for Jack Wills, only to be told by “ guest services” that Jack Wills hasn’t traded from Ashford site for months. I was furious and told them I checked the website only last night. A feeble apology from guest services, no explanation. How hard is it to update your website !?!? Useless
Beware of Parking charges
Posting this to make drivers aware that the parking payments here are designed to catch you out, and you get no help from McArthur Glen or Almondvale shopping centre depite UKPA being their appointed car park management company.
Bought and displayed a ticket for £2.00 at McArthur Glen outlet in Livingston, moved car 100 yards to front of Smyths to collect a large item and received a £60 fine for having no ticket, despite showing the purchased ticket they insist I didnt purchase it, then replied its for an adjacent car park, there are no barriers and you can enter all bays on both sides, nothing stopping you.
They own both so common sense should have applied.
A full day charge is £12 so £60 is excessive and in my opinion extortion.
No contact numbers for these cowboys either, your stuck emailing and when you ask McArthur Glen or Almondvale shopping centre for assistance - you wont get any, its nothing to do with them.
Beware when using the car park - they class them all as different and youll need to purchase more than one ticket if moving from one to the other.
Great stores and food at the cannock…
Great stores and food at the cannock site perfect service every time always really clean
We traveled nearly two hours to this…
We traveled nearly two hours to this outlet as dog friendly and is superb with the exception of north face the only store not excepting of our tiny dog, what makes them so special! The sheer arrogance of the staff was shocking but no problem we spent in excess of £1000 elsewhere
Poor maintenance
Ashford outlet a lot of loose paving slabs all the way around. Look like they don't spend anything on the upkeep.
Closed on a sunday!!!!!?????
Closed on a sunday!!!!!?????
Luckily we Got one and a half hour saturday evening.
Lot’s of clothes - not much else. But beautifully decorated with lights.
Everybody watch out
Everybody watch out this outlet place is not fun. If you are an introvert beware of Nike area. Shoe shopping takes way too long do not come looking for shoes if you want to be happy. Also there was a train roaming around for some reason. The highlight was my five guys burger HOWEVER our table was sticky for some reason. Lastly, one of the bathroom stalls had a secret message engraved into the door: Yikes
How fun 🙃

BLARING MUSIC
On 05.07.24, a family member emailed the facilities manager at York mcarthur glen. The music was too LOUD. My aunt had brain surgery and anyone post brain op has issues with loud noises. York mcarthur glen's music is ridiculously loud.
On or around 01.07.24, my aunt spoke with mcarthur glen. The receptionist didn't take her concern seriously and said the music was set by the facilities manager. Aunt had previously spoken with a receptionist who said the music was set by the security team!
On 09.07.24, facilities manager replies to my Aunt's email. Clearly, mcarthur glen FAIL to consider those with neurodivergent issues which includes not only those who are post brain op, but those with Autism and severe ADHD as music is terrible for them.
My Aunt emailed the facilities manager neurodivergent information.
Music is supposed to be background, to take away the silence; it's not for staff entertainment.

Dishonest Marketing Practice.
We were enticed to visit the Swindon Designer Outlet because of a leaflet delivered to our home offering 10% discount at their stores. It did not state ‘at participating stores only’ and so it came as a great disappointment to discover the very stores we wanted to use refused to honour the discount. We were encouraged to visit under false pretences. I doubt that this was a marketing error but quite deliberate.
Advertised Prices should be what is charged

McArthurGlen
Who I believe overcharged me for my food and reflects badly on The McArthurGlen outlet
PLEASE DO NOT CHARGE PEOPLE MORE FOR THE ITEMS YOU SUPPLY THEM THAN THE PRICE CLEARLY ADVERTISED.
My expectation when ordering my food is to have clarity transparency and does Not lead to me being charged more than the items that are clearly advertised
It can be confusing if the receipt does not reflect the price advertised at the restaurant.
Expecting people to have to solve the quiz purporting to be the Tax invoice..
Im sorry if I find logic and maths simple as they are not a matter of personal opinion. The answers are accurate or inaccurate.
My two food items were to me overcharged in the region of 30%
My wife’s meal I am not contesting, even though on the same invoice, only my own appears incorrect.
Finding Mathematics easy that is what I chose for my degree.
Following University as I was going into management and for my management qualification earned I also studied the law.
55 years ago it appeared fairly straight forward but the were loop holes and when computers came in to retail it needed strengthening with the Consumer Right Act laws and updates later.
It distresses me that so often computers are used to replace people despite any benefits they have.
After fifty years creating and managing computer systems I am sure it is not often the computer at fault but the software they use. The tills will be linked with the same software as the Computer service terminal will replicate errors on both devices making the restaurant manager little chance of seeing the truth.
Emma the manager explained as best she could and was sympathetic to my situation and rightly tried to support her employers as she is paid to do, her explanation of the Tax invoice was excellent , but was not logical to explain why the service terminal advertised a lower price than was charged.
I have photographic evidence.
Emma asked me to speak with her manager to explain the receipt, not the fact that advertised and charged were different.
Forgive me for saying but Emma in my opinion was far ahead the better customer facing person than her manager..
So if you eat their ensure you are charged what is advertised,
The Consumer Rights act is now getting very much against what is advertised on On line systems which have errors.

Cheshire oaks is always a good days shopping. Usually decent sale throughout and restaurants are pretty good there too. There is also a good sized children play area for anyone taking kids with them. Toilets dotted all round and water bowl for anyone with a dog. Probably the best of the mcarthurglen outlets.
NORTH FACE, STONE FACED GRINCH
I BOUGHT XMAS GIFTS FROM NORTH FACE, SPENT QUITE A BIT. LOST MY RECEIPT & RETURNED TO STORE TODAY AS THE LARGEST SIZE TEE SHIRT WAS TOO SMALL FOR FAMILY MEMBER. I ASKED FOR EXCHANGE BUT THE GUY SAID THERES NOTHING HE CAN DO WITH NO RECEIPT AND TO MAYBE GIFT THE ITEM TO SOMEBODY. THE TEE HAD THEIR TAB ON BUT HE WAS NOT INTERESTED. WITH THE COST OF LIVING AND THE STRUGGLES IN THE WORLD RIGHT NOW, A LITTLE COMPASSION WOULDN'T GO A MISS. THATS MY LAST TRIP TO THE NORTH FACE.

Fake discounting and unknown brands
There's a lot of fake discounting going on, and prices supposedly reduced. The reality is its cheaper to shop on any high street. The other issue is unknown brands, so there's nothing to compare them to.
Very poor experience
Very poor experience. The discounted clothing comes in random sizes (xs and 3xl). Whilst the poor quality WiFi means I couldn't access the app to get the 10% off full priced clothing. Nothing staff can do, or are willing to do. I won't be going back and definitely can't recommend.
Yankee Candle outlet extremely poor
Yankee Candle outlet store in the Swindon location. Absolutely awful service from this outlet shop. I had a faulty candle which was not burning correctly so I took back to exchange. I was met with a gum chewing disrespect-able manager, who said no and no and no again? This was not her loss? It was a faulty candle. I have never experienced such poor service and such awful manners. I have now learned the outlet shop is owned my cardzone, so that is my next step. I have also told other shoppers not to go to this shop and I’m afraid it has put a poor light on Mcarthurglen…… extremely disappointed.
Not at best pleased.
Being that l am a blue badge holder. I found it difficult to see where the on arrival in the car park the parking for badge holders. The glass doors on arrival would have been
impossible to enter without someone to help me. Paying to get out was a nightmare and not only me I had some passer by try to help me to no avail.
Swindon outlet
Good selection of stores but some have closed down, but they always seem to have new ones opening, managed to get a good deal in converse during Jan Sales
