Replacement locking nut.
Lost my licking nut following a tyre replacement. Great service from McGard and received my replacement nut key within a week from Germany. Can’t fault them 🙂

Shit product, to fragile, and when the key is broken , or the bolt you have a big problem for getting the nut of. They sent a replacement key of even lesser quality,so it immediately broke. Takes you half a day and a dozen drills to get just one of
Just put on a normal nut.
59 days to send a replacement key for European spec Chevrolet despite being OE. I would have removed the locks if they had told me it would take that long. Two months! And who sells locks with only one key anyway? I would call them a joke but it's not at all funny. The locks are also overrated and very, very ugly.
KEY WAS BROKEN, REPLACEMENT KEY RECEIVED IS NOT AS HEAVY DUTY AS ORIGINAL KEY. REPLACEMENT KEY JUST SLIPS ON WHEEL LOCK (WHILE USING HAND TOOLS NOT POWER) AND I HAVE TO BORROW ANOTHER TECHS ORIGINAL HEAVY DUTY KEY.
excellent products, fantastic customer service, great attitude when dealing with retail customer! thought [incorrectly] I had entered order on internet; when I called to follow up, they were awesome: completed my order, helped me over the phone, and products expected quickly with free shipping! would HIGHLY recommend, thank you for awesome service!
My mcgard wheel lock removal key came apart when trying to take off a wheel. The inner key portion just fell out and would not sit back into place as it has slipped on the splines. On inspection I could see super glue residue which was what was holding the two pieces together.
I emailed CS who offered me a replacement key for euro21.18.
I don’t see why I should pay to have a failed key replaced on such a shoddy piece of workmanship. You’d almost think it was deliberately made to fail.
I could pay the same money to have these mechanically removed as I doubt I will be putting mcgard back into my wheels.
Update.
Mcgard sent me a new locking key FoC so I’ve upgraded to a 3 star as it shouldn’t have failed.
I lost my the wheel bolt key to my BMW in Austria, and could not find a reference for a replacement. In the end, I took a photo of the bolt and sent it to McGard Customer Services in Germany. They responded promptly, and after a short verification process, I ordered two keys at considerably lower cost than from a BMW dealer. Unfortunately, due to an internal error, the keys were not sent when they should have been. Unusually these days, Customer Sevices immediately acknowledged the mistake, apologised, and sent the keys by Express delivery. Mistakes are made, and it is so refreshing to get good customer service and a prompt resolution if things go wrong. Well done McGard Customer Services. Good products and good service - definitely would buy from them again
Great customer service! I was mailed the wrong key and they helped me figure out the right one, an even sent the correct one at no charge.
I have these mcgard bolts on my 2012 BMW. 3 keys stripped when trying to remove. I dismantled a bolt and welded it to an old bolt to make my own key. This worked on one wheel then on the second it ripped off again. The weld held fine but the mcgard bolt broke. I believe this to be really poor grade metal. I have not used any power tools, only my hands and a breaker bar. The torque wrench was well withing expected perimeters when the second key stripped. The bolt I did get out was not rusted and but it seems the metal from the bolt is somehow fusing to the alloy wheel. When I get these out I will be sure to never put mcgard bolts back in my car ever again. Terrible product.
I recently broke the original McGard key when trying to remove one of the locking wheel bolts from my 2007 Volvo. My main dealer didn't have the right master key to solve the problem but showed me how to get the key code from the label inside the glovebox and I ordered a replacement key from McGard for €16 (inc. shipping to the UK).
The key arrived as promised a couple of days later. Great service.
Unfortunately the replacement key also broke, and the McGard customer services team agreed to send me two replacement keys immediately at no cost. Again, great service.
The two replacements have also broken and the wheel is still stuck to the car. I'm using a 50cm breaker bar and my hands to do this - I'm not using power/air tools or standing on the breaker bar to apply the force that's breaking the keys. They just feel weak.
So.... 5 stars for the McGard customer service. Really excellent.
3 stars for the quality of the design/manufacture of the keys themselves :-(
Lost the key for some locking bolts I bought a while ago and luckily found the card that came with them, my order took 7 working days to arrive and fitted perfectly.
Lost locking nut for a Mitsubishi, contacted Mitsubishi who wanted £30 just for replacement key (maybe plus VAT) found lock number and manufacturer identifier and contacted McGard in Germany. two replacements delivered in 4 days. Some confusion over payment and refund given when Customer Services contacted. Overall brilliant experience and excellent Online Customer Services. Total cost 26 Euros for 2 replacement keys inc postage..
Lost my locking wheelnut on my 10 year old Volvo - local Volvo main dealer next to useless when asked for help. Phoned McGard via their Freephone number and was assisted by an English speaking customer Services Advisor - after only 3 e-mails with photos of the pattern and documents to prove the car was mine they identified the pattern and sent the bolt which arrived 4 days later despite the fact it was a Bank Holiday in Germany on Fridayand they said it would take about a week - only cost 18 Euros including post - superb service.
