I'm a french newly musician, playing the bodhràn at irish session and that Mcneela website help me find new beater for a nice price and recently a new bodhràn !

I have bought a few instruments and accessories from McNeela and the quality is second to none. Delivery was quick.

Wanted to learn the whistle and came across a review of ithe Wild whistle from McNeela.
Whistle has a beautiful tone and oozes a solid quality. Very pleased.

happy with my whistles, good sound, deliber fast and safe!

I recently made four separate whistle purchases from McNeela. Each one successfully crossed the Atlantic and arrived surprisingly quickly. The whistles all look and sound great. Unfortunately I found one of the two wooden whistles developed a crack. I contacted McNeela support, they immediately sent a return label and once they got it back they promptly issued a refund. Communication has been exceptional, with each transaction I received regular progress emails. I can not imagine better service or products.

I cannot speak highly enough of the staff and service provided by McNeela Music. Recently they serviced my Lon Dubh flute and everything from communication, repairs and post was excellent.

So on my own with practice

I ordered a 32 string Celtic harp recently. It took several weeks to be delivered and I was assured of personal service. When delivered I was disappointed that Padraig was in a hurry and didn’t have the time to talk me through it or even wait until I took it out of the case because he dropped it and ran! He had also forgotten to bring the music book I had ordered with it & I had to wait for this to be posted to a couple of weeks later. The music book was most disappointing with only a few Irish tunes in it and it doesn’t show the harp fingering on it! Poor value! The harp hadn’t been tuned for a long time and it took quite some tweaking to get it tuned properly. It was also quite dusty and I had to give it a thorough cleaning. I would expect an instrument of this cost to be clean and tuned on arrival. While the instrument is good but not great, I was extremely disappointed with the service and I didn’t receive any follow up or any support whatsoever. In fact I had to email them to ask about the book because they didn’t post it on as promised. I would have expected a better service, introduction and follow up for the money I spent on this harp. Very disappointing!

I love it. I wish there was some help learning how to play it. My family is from Balycastle, Mayo and I would like to be able to play it here in the US and maybe someday where we came from.

I was amazed at how quickly my concertina arrived all the way from Dublin to Australia - it was clearly sent immediately after ordering, and arrived safe and sound, in perfect condition. I’ve already commenced the free classes with Jack, and am making progress. More importantly, my daughter has suddenly decided to learn too, and naturally she’s progressing much faster than I am!

I've purchased from McNeela before and was very pleased so I had no hesitation purchasing again.

When the deal came up that I couldn't resist (Cygnet wooden flute and hard case and Wild whistle combo for a fabulous price!) I jumped on it.

I had an administrative question which was answered promptly and I was super happy with the service.

The flute itself is really nice and forgiving to play (I am not only a beginner but also a small-handed person). It has a sweet, dusky sound which is not super loud or harsh. The hand stretch is similar to my PVC flute which has offset holes specially designed for small hands. I am chuffed with this instrument.

The hard case is fabulous and even has a hygrometer to make sure humidity is just right. It has a place for 3 whistles as well as the flute and it makes taking my instruments to places really secure and safe feeling.

The whistle I got as part of the combo deal is pleasure to play. It takes a little getting used to because it is in a much different key to the one I already had but sounds beautiful when I get it right.

Delivery was really quick and easy. It was posted on the same day as an item I bought in rural Australia (I am also rural Australia) and the NcNeela package arrived from Ireland before the other item from my own country did!

Overall, I'm VERY glad I purchased these items from McNeela and they shouldn't be surprised if they see my name pop up in their order list again soon.

I have recently purchased three whistles, and they are the best I have ever played! Great sound and good finger spacing. When I had an issue with the tunability of one of the whistles, I got a swift response to my query and multiple subsequent communications regarding trouble shooting. In the end, they replaced the whistle, at no cost to me. My experience has exceeded my expectations!

Excellent products and service! We ordered a rosewood flute with free penny whistle and we also got a piccolo. They arrived quickly and were well protected. We got regular status reports during transit and follow-up messages to ensure all was well. We also appreciate the trial lessons which are superb. Great company.

I visited McNeela while I was in Dublin to buy a flute. It felt more like an adoption process. I was given a selection of flutes, each of their different styles. I easily spent a good 45 -60 minutes playing each flute, from the Rosewood to the Blackwood. I settled on the Cocuswood, but the E and F# sounded a bit airy/breathy to me. The sales person, was beyond fantastic! He brought a few more Cocuswood flutes for me to try until a settled on the one I bought. The Wild Whistle in D, that was thrown in for free was a wonderful treat! It truly is a delight to play. I liked it so much, I bought a second in one in Bb. I can’t thank McNeela enough for allowing me to find the flute that I was supposed to have.

Lovely little harp! I had a bit of trouble tuning it at first but that's on me for not having dealt with harps before. Lovely addition to my house full of instruments (taishogoto, bagpipes. phin, walking dulcimer, tenor ukulele, balalaika, feadogs, guitars - I may have a problem!
