Very pleased customer
After a long search and plenty of indecisiveness, I got in touch with Skirting World and immediately felt I’d chosen the right company. They sent out free samples in great time and offered clear advice on the difference between solid wood and MDF, which helped me decide to go with MDF. I was very happy with both the product and the communication from the start, so I went ahead and placed an order.
What truly stood out throughout the whole process was James. He was exceptionally professional, responsive and quick to sort out a couple of matters without any fuss. He even refunded my delivery fees after I had to push the delivery date back by more than six days, which I found incredibly kind and thoughtful.
When the skirting boards arrived they were exactly as expected, with one minor issue that James once again handled straightaway.
I want to highlight the excellent communication, the competitive pricing compared with other companies, the option to have the boards undercoated at a very reasonable price and the free delivery choice if you’re not in a hurry. The delivery itself was smooth and reliable.
Most importantly, James was amazing from start to finish. His professionalism and willingness to go above and beyond made the whole experience outstanding. I couldn’t recommend Skirting World highly enough.

Product good, but service has room for improvement
The system online to inform you of progress does not seem to work. I became concerned about delivery schedule, and online suggested the products were still being selected for manufacture. When I called (took a while to find the number ads didn't seem to be on website) I was surprised to find they were going to deliver the next day! The staff on the phone were helpful. The delivery driver was rather surly. He gave a 2 minute warning of his arrival. When he arrived the weather was awful, but all he said was "I'm not allowed into the house" and promptly dumped the products outside in the rain!
Product was decent, but the primer had not covered all areas of the skirting, as it seemed to have been sprayed at only one angle, so didn't make it into some of the profile.

Disappointed
I ordered a skirting board and an architrave set. While the skirting board arrived in good condition and met expectations, the architrave pieces were a major disappointment. Every single one showed signs of damage—chips and rough edges that appeared to result from poor manufacturing, possibly due to a blunt blade. What’s worse, these defects were present before the boards had even been painted, suggesting they were knowingly shipped in that state.
I had to spend considerable time filling and sanding the damage just to make them usable. This points to either a complete lack of quality control or a disregard for customer satisfaction. It's frustrating to receive products that clearly should have been rejected during inspection.

Poor customer service
Placed an initial order on Sunday 2nd October and got a confirmed delivery date 2 days later for the Thursday which would have been great had I not been working away. Delivery estimate at the time of ordering was 6-9 working day so this was well within this and my fault I couldn’t be available. I contacted skirting world to reschedule and had a quick response advising a new delivery estimate would be confirmed shortly. After waiting another three days, I received a new delivery confirmation, which was 10 working days later than the new confirmation email, this would have been late for a new order, yet alone a rescheduled one. I’m working away again, so have had to request the delivery to be rescheduled again and advising I was unwilling to wait another 13+ working days, unfortunately, I contacted skirting world a week ago regarding this and have had no response. I’m assuming delivery will be attempted.

Good quality skirting and architrave, only issue the finish wasn’t as smooth as expected having payed for primer and undercoat. Had to sand down and re-undercoat before finishing coat.

Poor customer service online (great in store though)
Just had an email asking for my experience of SkirtingWorld, wouldn’t have said anything but since you asked…
In store service from Harrison was brilliant: helped me to identify the skirting that matched mine, explained the different shower tile panels when I got side tracked by them, and showed me how to order a big panel of MDF off the website - nothing was too much trouble.
Sadly when I came in to difficulty placing the order online and so had to email the company the customer service (ironically from the so called customer service manager) was no where near the level of that which I’d received in store. Dismissive and disinterested is the best I can describe it, had no interest in the problem I’d encountered or in finding a solution.
So I bought the MDF panel as I had no time to source it elsewhere but I got the rest from another company - it was only 180 meters of primed and undercoated skirting so probably neither here nor there to them, but I’d rather spend my money with a company who at least appear to want my custom.
