Avoid this dealership if you expect honesty or professionalism
Over the course of three separate phone calls with Mick, I specifically asked whether I should pay a deposit to secure a vehicle of interest. On every occasion I was told this was not necessary.
The final call was this morning immediately before my wife and I left home for a 140-mile journey, (280- mile round trip), having both taken time off work. We were again assured the car was being held for us.
Roughly an hour and a half into the journey, Mick phoned to say somebody else was there buying the car.
I appreciate it is a dealers job to turn car sales around as quickly as possible. What is completely unacceptable is repeatedly assuring me that a vehicle is being held, discouraging me from paying a deposit, then pulling the rug from under my feet after I have already committed my time, fuel, and annual leave.
The whole experience was unprofessional, disingenuous, and a complete waste of time. Based on my experience, I would strongly advise others not to rely on anything this dealership tells you unless you have everything confirmed in writing and secured with a deposit.
