My pump had a broken piece (my fault). I ordered through insurance but I called Medela and their customer service was amazing! I sent a receipt and they had a new one shipped within 24 hours for free!... See more

Sadly although the pump itself is ok, their customer service is shocking bad! A part of my pump is faulty and I tried to contact customer services almost 2 weeks ago and I still haven’t got a response... See more

One month to respond

I have read about how great customer service is so I had reached out when my tubing broke inside of my pump. I tried calling twice at different times on different days to only be on hold for over 10 minutes. I was working and could not continue to be on hold so I sent an email. It took them almost ONE MONTH to respond to me. In which I was told they could not help because it was user error not their error, which I get, but then continued to send me boilerplate messaging that wasn't even related to my problem.

Don’t bother with their rental pump - customer service useless.

Lots of negative reviews on here and unfortunately mine is too.

Rented a pump from Medela to try to increase supply and start feeding expressed milk to my baby who was losing weight.

Paid £49 for delivery and the 24mm shields (you don’t get an option) plus £49 per month.

The 24mm shields were too big (and I knew they would be in advance) and so I’m getting 1oz of milk per pump.

I contacted customer service who told me I had to buy the 21mm (even though I paid £49 for set up which did not allow me to start using the pump) and they were out of stock.

I was then told I could buy off Amazon. I’m not prepared to spend another £35 when I have unuseable 24mm shields at home to get the 21mm when it may be that the pump is just not great.

I get 3oz per breast in the MomCozy I have and was hoping Medela would be better. i was mistaken.

Medela should really give you the option / send a measuring tool (like MomCozy do) before sending you shields which you can’t use. The customer service team don’t acknowledge that it’s unjust to charge someone £49 for shields they can’t use.

Terrible product - Breaks within a year - Awful Customer service

Terrible product, stops working after less than a year. We bought ours in February after our baby was born and it has stopped working. I have identified that I think it is the membrane that is not working and instead of just replacing it, Medela has said we have to purchase new ones. The alternative is to return the breast pump - which is obviously something any breast pumping mum is not going to want to do as you cannot afford to stop pumping due to milk production stopping. As a new mother, using this product and dealing with their customer service has been horrible and I feel really disappointed and let down. It has made me feel depressed and stressed that I can't feed my baby.

Exellent Customer Service

Me and my partner have been blessed with our baby in summer 2023 and looked to get a reliable breast pump to support feeding. We decided to go with Medela based on recommendations and glad we did. These are not the cheapest but when I product stopped working this week, we were a bit nervous about having to pay for a brand new device. However, the customer care line my partner called were exceptional, they provided a resolution that day and my partner left with new equipment from our local Boots. I see this customer service as exceptional and based on the level of support, I'd highly recommend the breast pump and Medela brand. Thank you.

I recently purchased the medela hands free freestyle pump

I recently purchased the medela hands-free breast pump and I am so disappointed. The milk doesn’t drain properly, it only comes with 2 Falange sizes neither of which work for me and the cups are incredibly finicky so it’s not “hands-free” by any means. Medela needs to make better products and lower their prices. Next time I’ll do more research before I purchase and find other companies who’s parts are interchangeable and fitted for women’s bodies not milking cows.

POOR QUALITY - Medela Swing Maxi Double Electric…

Medela Swing Maxi Double Electric Breast Pump
I bought it to help me increase my breast milk supply but I simply wasted my money and time. After 1 week of using it several times a day, almost no milk came out. I felt my breasts full and still nothing came out. Yes, I've already tested it with different flange sizes and the result was the same, less than 1oz in each breast. I was extremely worried about my milk supply and I decided to try hand expressing and it worked. It turned out much more than I imagined it would. Really disappointed with the product. I threw my money away.

great customer service

Customer service has been very friendly and helpful. I've used Medela for both my babies and have been so happy with it. When there was a minor defect with one of the parts they shipped a replacement (under warranty) very quickly. I would recommend Medela to anyone!

The pump did not work

The pump did not work, there was no suction, contacted customer services and was told I would received a refund, then they told me they checked the pump and they thought it was nothing wrong with it and decided not to give me the refund they already agreed to give me over the phone, I would not recommend to rent them, there is so many other better options available in the market now

Read the small print

Medela charge £49 to deliver the pump and for a 14day trial, then it’s £49 for a month’s rental after 14 days. This means you pay £98 in the first month. I didn’t realise because this info is buried below all the ‘£49 for one month!’ claims and as a new mum it’s too easy to miss small details like that. I am unhappy about spending this much and whilst it’s my error, I feel a bit taken advantage of. Why don’t they make the prices different so it helps make it clearer to sleep deprived, mad busy new parents?

The Medela FreeStyle hands free it’s a good pump…when it works!
Mine stopped working in less than 10 days and unfortunately the service from Medela has been very poor. They are taking about 3 weeks (and hopefully it’s going to really be max 3 weeks) to come back to me with the product fixed or a new one, without offering any alternative to bridge this long waiting time!

Medela technology - behind the times and not designed for practicality

I’m certain that Medela pumps were designed by people with absolutely no experience of expressing breast milk.

I’m surprised that, given that Medela’s key product is breast pumps, their technology is so archaic and is not user-friendly.

I could write a long list of issues I’ve had with my Freestyle Flex but the main thing that irritates me every single day is that the touchscreen device (the electronic device) constantly gets knocked by your arm or chest or tummy if you hang it over your shoulder (and there really is no alternative if you are wanting to be mobile while using it). This means that your pump will constantly switch modes or turn off. There is no holster available for the electronic device.

Evidently, no one in the design department has ever had to express milk regularly for a young baby (who, with a young baby, has time to sit stagnant multiple times per day to express milk)?

The device is bulky and there are lots of component parts, another two reasons I dislike the product.

Unfortunately, Medela is one of the best brands on the market so I don’t hold much hope for competitors.

Don’t get your hopes up.

Was told by customer service that it is not for exclusive pumping so i burnt out the motor even though they have referenced a link on their website to say that it is for exclusive pumping.

The suggestion was to to buy a new one to resolve the issue!!!

I purchased two Medela breast pumps for…

I purchased two Medela breast pumps for my newborn, but both of them failed to work properly within a few months of use. Despite following all the instructions and troubleshooting tips, the pumps simply wouldn't turn on or provide enough suction. I reached out to Medela customer service for help, but was met with terrible service and a lack of concern for my issue. The representatives were unhelpful and dismissive, making me feel like my problem wasn't important to them.

To make matters worse, Medela's warranty process was convoluted and time-consuming, requiring multiple calls.

Overall, I was extremely disappointed with my experience with Medela breast pumps and their customer service. I would not recommend their products to anyone looking for reliable and effective breast pumps, and I advise others to look elsewhere for a better experience.

Stress free rental - great service

Very easy to rent a hospital grade double breast pump at a reasonable rate. Easy to send back when I was finished after around 4 months. I had to swap a faulty pump in the middle of my rental which again was quite simple as a new one was sent immediately, even whilst I was returning the faulty one so I wasn't without a pump for long. Great customer service when I have needed to communicate with them. Would rent again and highly recommend.

Simply no care for new mothers and…

Simply no care for new mothers and babies. My medela breast pump stopped working on a Saturday, Medela’s customer service is only M-F. I had to buy a new pump immediately to feed my premature baby and they refused to refund it. Additionally, I had to wait on hold for over an hour to even get through to anyone. They brand themselves as mother friendly, and it’s just not the case. Totally unsympathetic to customers

Medela Sonata Amazing Pump + Excellent Service

I have a 2 year-old Medela Sonata that I use to exclusively pump (several hours per day) and it has been up to job for the better part of 2 years. Recently, the battery started acting up and I got an error message that led to me calling into the company for support. I'm so glad that I did! They were exceptionally kind and professional and offered me a brand new pump (it was covered under warranty). I picked it up from their warehouse today and I deeply touched by how they treated me. Breastmilk is no joke, and I'm so glad I bought the best.

Absolutely the worst customer service I…

Absolutely the worst customer service I have ever encountered. The horrible attitude from Tracy in the customer service team is enough to reduce me to tears. They took my products returned and only processed a partial refund so they have essentially stolen £50 from me. It may not seem like a lot but £50 for no product I feel is quite a lot. I have opened a case with PayPal to try to get my money back. I requested to speak to management many times and all times have been ignored. Worst company I have ever worked with. Genuinely if I need anything I would rather get it on Amazon to avoid any further issues. Save your money and AVOID

I am from Ontario

I am from Ontario, Canada. My medela freestyle flex stopped working after three months. Contacted customer service through phone. It was a busy line, but I was persistent in getting through. I was able to get a replacement fed ex to me right away. I’m very pleased. I tried emailing and did not get a response.
