Poor quality jewelry and poor customer service
I ordered a pair of 18ct gold vermeil earrings 4 months ago for £125, to be worn at my upcoming wedding. I had stored them in their box, inside a bag, inside another box, in a dark and dry environment. I opened them yesterday and to my horror, the metal plating had turned black, blue, green and purple.
This is not my first time shopping for gold vermeil jewelry on Etsy, and I have never had this experience. Some of my gold vermeil jewelery from Etsy is 6 years old and the gold plating is still flawless despite exposure to water, moisture etc. In contrast, these earrings are only 4 months old and have not been exposed to any elements whatsoever.
When I brought this to the attention of the seller, including some photos, she:
1. Expressed that 15 weeks was a reasonable period of time under which the earrings would discolor
2. Accused me of having exposed the jewelry to perfume, moisturizer, water, and all sorts of elements
This speaks to the poor quality of products and the negative attitude towards customers.
