Stephen and Mo were excellent to deal with, always responded when needed, seems nothing was too much trouble. All in all it was really satisfying experience from start to finish. I would certainly recommend these guys to anyone.

What a fantastic dealership as a whole. Buying a car from them was completely stress free. Phil and Mo were absolutely fantastic. The deal was all done over the phone. Reassured me of the cars condition which is truely immaculate as stated over the phone, even sent me a personal video in great detail. They went the extra mile in delivering my car on their day off to ensure the deal took place, seen as I lived over 200 miles away and couldn’t commute down anytime soon.
I cannot thank Mo and Phil enough. What a fantastic team they have at Mercedes Benz of Exeter!

After a long journey to collect my new car I was pleased with the night in a nearby hotel the dealer had organised for me. Sam & Shakira were very helpful and patient (after issues with a previous Mercedes from another dealer professional service was much appreciated).

Bought the car through MBSW and had it delivered after viewing on Autotrader and got what seemed like a decent deal.
Sales staff were very keen to sell as it was month end, however once bought the service levels drops off quite quickly.
They make a lot of mooing noises about buying a Mercedes Benz but when there is a problem they are defensive and quick to blame others.
My car is nice however it has a lot of things that were advertised not included and they frustratingly blame Autotrader. You would think they might check all ads to see if they are correct, no they claim that's my responsibility which is a cop out
Staff knowledge on the vehicles isn't what they describe as "Expert" they just know a little more than you.
Still waiting for a faulty charging cable to be replaced after 2mths and still no sign of it.
They may give the perception of being a slick, professional company, but in reality they are no better than any other car dealer, and worse that a lot too.

So where do we start with Mercedes Benz Exeter. Let’s roll back the clock approx. 12 months when I had to take my old SLK into this branch for a rear subframe replacement. Due to their technicians damaging items on my car to get the subframe out I had to pay approx. £600 to cover the cost of these additional charges for which I was not responsible. I complained a t the time and got basically nowhere. Fast forward to beginning of February and my old SLK has been replaced with an SLC 300 which I am very happy with apart from the fact that for a second time the folding roof stuck partially open. The first time this happened I was eventually able to close it but it took some doing. February however I was not so lucky, and the roof refused to budge either open or closed. Fortunately, I was at home when this happened, and I reversed the car into my garage. 24hrs later I tried the boot switch, and it closed the roof. Success .I contacted the Mercedes Benz Plymouth as according to social media this is a regular fault on the SLC enquiring if the fault was subject of a recall. I was advised it was not so contacted Mercedes Benz Southwest (Tangelo). They advised me that the issue would be covered by their RAC warranty. The next call I received is from Mercedes Benz Exter trying to book my car into their workshop to diagnose this issue and decide if it was a warranty repair. I informed them that I would not be giving them my car after previous issues unless the issue was covered by the RAC warranty. A short while later I get another call from Mercedes Benz Exeter to say that the warranty will cover the issue, so I then booked my vehicle in with them reluctantly. Due to work commitments, it was 3 weeks from the final phone call to arriving with my car ain Exter. Upon arrival I checked my vehicle in and was met with a slightly confused look by the lady in reception as they had recorded by vehicle registration incorrectly. I then had a 40-minute wait until I again spoke with the receptionist asking how long I would have to wait as I had a meeting to attend some distance away and needed to get going in a courtesy car, I had pre booked. SHORT WHILE later a customer assistant sorry cannot remember her name appeared, asked me to sign a form for the courtesy car, tried to sell me additional damage insurance and when I declined passed me the keys to this courtesy vehicle took me to where it was parked with another employee doing something with the bot and then she walked off.
Not being familiar with this vehicle, it took me a few minutes to work out what switches did what, before I went on my way. Later that day I receive a phone call from Mercedes Benz Southwest to say that the issue with my car was a faulty switch. I was informed that the RAC Warranty only covered labour charges up to a maximum of £95 and that I would have to pay the extra as their labour charges were £150 per hour and that the replacement switch was a 4hr task. To say I was unimpressed was an understatement. What made the matter worse was that the garage did not have a switch and that I would have to bring the vehicle back when the switch had arrived. I returned to collect my vehicle and queried the charges. The switch itself is approx. £50 so the total bill would be over £650!!. I expressed my disappointment at the poor customer service and ridiculous labour charges and was told that the charges reflect the age of my vehicle and the £150 per hr was not the full hourly rate. Thoroughly disgusted with the service I asked for the boot switch to be sent to Merecedes Plymouth for them to do the work only to be told that as the Exeter Branch had started the warranty work, they would have to finish it. I informed them that to bring my vehicle back again would be another 100-mile round trip and could I have the vehicle collected which to be fair they agreed too with no charge. 2 weeks pass by and ai eventually received a phone call to say the switch has arrived and arrange a date for the vehicle to be collected for repair. I then receive various messages reminding me of the upcoming repair by txt etc and the day before the vehicle is due to be collected, I get a phone call from the person responsible for the pickup of my vehicle to say that they cannot find my vehicle on the DVLA database to confirm it has a valid MOT / Tax. I ring straight back and go to voicemail and confirm the VRM of my vehicle and then get another call to say that the vehicle is taxed & MOT. D so the collection can go ahead. The vehicle was picked up as agreed but returned the following day after I had paid the additional labour charges excess charge of £257.51 not to my address but to my neighbours who point the driver to the correct location.
Upon checking my invoice I see that I have been charged £16.95 for a 'quick test'. I am then charged £16.95 for a vario roof control check (after quick test). Words fail me.

A long journey was all made worth while. The showroom staff were very attentive and our sales person, Phil Cole, had everything ready for us to take the car for a test drive, compete the purchase and drive it away. All our questions were answered in a manner that showed excellent product knowledge. It really was a delightful experience - as buying a new car should be.

We traveled a long way to view a car so it was a relief to deal with sales people who were patient and empathetic.
Sam and Shakira were 5 star in their approach and made the experience pleasant and successful.
Sam especially, had to work hard to illustrate to us the car we wanted to purchase was indeed the car we wanted to purchase.
I’ve given only 4 stars overall because I don’t like Car Companies habits of upselling other products.

Matt Rickard was brilliant. helpful, attentive and friendly. We weren't looking to buy a Mercedes but after visiting other dealers and salesmen, Matt was the guy we wanted to progress with.

I booked a test drive for Friday March 28. What made the experience so delightful was that I dealt with Jess and Ellie. It was refreshing to deal with knowledgable women. I did buy a new car because it was explained to me so well by Jess, it was made so easy and I am delighted with my new vehicle. Thank you both so much.

Sadly my last visit to Mercedes Exeter was not a good one. My engine management light kept coming on so I booked it in to be checked followed by an MOT. Firstly when I arrived they had not booked in the MOT so this could not be done until the Monday. They lent me a car to use in the meantime. The light came on so the car failed the MOT despite asking them to carry out the required work first so this would not happen. I was then told that the work needed to resolve the issue would not be covered on the extended warranty only discover after contacting this department directly myself that it would be. Almost 2 weeks later I get my car back only to discover the engine management light still coming on. Although the car has now passed its MOT I am not convinced the actual work has been done, I am currently waiting for the paperwork to be sent to me proving this happened.
