I had my Fiat Ducato 2020 LWB campervan serviced and MOT at this garage as it was recommended by a local motorhome hire company. The work was carried out and a courtesy car was provided. So far so good.
On collection of my vehicle (parked someway away from the workshop) I noticed one side of the van windscreen, side and wheels caked in mud. It had clearly been driven fast through mud not dis-similar to off road at speed!
I rang the office to report the matter and the woman apologised for the state of the road!!!! No mention of customer/vehicle care. She appears to have no clue how to respond to customer complaints - be aware!!
I gave this company a chance and they blew it with this womans’ attitude and I suggest that if your vehicle needs work at Mereside make sure you check it carefully. Regrettable I can't check the underside but judging by the state of the amount of heavy mud on the slide out step and wheel arches it can only be bad!
I had such a poor response that all the good work done by the workshop was undone by her response.
My advice also is make sure you take wet wipes to clean the steering wheel and gear stick as this was also filthy. The provided a plastic seat cover and paper carpet protector!!
This was the worst experience at any garage I have encountered.

On Thursday the 25th of SEPT 2025 I had booked my van into Mereside motors in Soham for its mot. On route and less than a mile away the vehicle battery went flat and I was unable to complete my journey. The local petrol station suggested I ring them as they had a good local reputation. I did just that and within 5 mins out they came with a starter pack and got me going. The flat battery had caused some electronic faults but this was sorted and I was over the moon as everything was now in order and sorted for another year.
Mereside motors and their staff went above and beyond and I would have no hesitation in recommending them and will use them again. Thank you very much.
