I'm sorry but at no point is it possible to climb onto the roof of your display building to see staples.
That seems ridiculous.
You offer a glue installation that has a 50 yearlife span you say.
So what are you are saying that the felt you use is going to leak and let water in through the roof straight away So I should of upgraded?
As many sheds I have had through through various companies have not leaked.
My shed was treated with branded shed protection to protect the wood.
However I expect the felt you put on the roof to do its job and it has leaked since day one and everything is moldy.
What I'm getting from your reply is its my fault for not upgradung to a better installation.??
If I was told that my roof would leak I wouldn't of even used merit sheds I would of gone elsewhere.
I think your reply really shows the level of this company's ability to rectify an issue. Zero. Rating from me.

Your original review was mainly regarding our use of staples and it is necessary to make clear that our use of staples is clearly advertised and is used on all our display buildings. The eves of our sheds are between 1.65M and 2.1M high which are also stapled so we would not expect any customers to have to climb on a roof to see them. The EPDM rubber was suggested as it would be an alternative to someone who doesn't wish to see staples used.

Shocking service
Shocking service, do not use this company. Summerhouse built not as we ordered (doors and windows the wrong way round to the order), gaps which you could put your hand through even though paid for their installation, roof did not arrive on time with the order. No communication from them about when the build would be finished (clearly do not expect to have consecutive days), panels installed upside down, just totally shoddy in all honesty. Mess left in the garden (pieces of roof felt, wood etc which the puppy got hold of and we had to clean up) . Installers didn't seem to have a clue what they were doing. Second team a week later spent hours trying to fix the shambles. Few months later double glazing has blown and replacement window ordered and arranged installation only to have this cancelled at the end of the day as they ran out of time. This is after we've sent in complaints. Customer service is non existing. No compensation offered and covid blamed as the excuse. Please spend your money elsewhere as they're not cheap.

Karen, We are sorry that you are were not happy with the original build quality of your Garden Building. Our Production Manager finished off the building (with a delay of only 1 working day) and stated that he was closely supervised during the installation and indicted that you seemed happy with the finished product. Had you pointed out any problems at the time of installation, or shortly afterwards, we would of course have fixed any issues.
After 11 weeks you did complain that the window double glazed unit had clouded over and some other issues that we had no knowledge of originally. We ordered you a new glazing unit from our supplier. They normally have a quick turnaround but due to general suppliers shortages during this current climate this unfortunately took 4 weeks. We offered to look at any further issues that you had alerted us to but you said you had fixed them when you fitted out the building.
We are really sorry that we were not able to get to you on the day specified to replace the window pane but we are glad this was able to be rescheduled and now sorted for you.
We did not blame Covid but inevitably it has a knock on effect with getting parts within our normal lead time. We trust that you are now happy with the finished product and hope that the misty window did not detract from your enjoyment of the building.

Potting shed delivered and installed a few days ago. Very pleased with both the product and the service. A pane was cracked on arrival, taped into place as a temporary measure and replaced the following day.

My penthouse 10x6 leaks like a sieve. It's ruined a settee and carpet. Contacted Bedford branch, was told guarantee expired after 6 months. I bought it June 2019.
No kindness offered. I could purchase roof felt for £25. Very upset by it all

Hi Jan, I'm sorry to hear of your distress following the leak of your building. We offer a 6 month warranty on all our products where we will come back with no quibbles during this period to fix any issues which may occur. Outside of this period we do have to have a standard call out charge for any repairs but we offered in this occasion, the materials at a reduced rate as an alternative. We are truly sorry this was not a satisfactory option.
LOGLAP 8’x10’ shed MERIT
Purchased loglap 8’x10’ shed from Bedford business (£1700). Display model was great and so ordered and paid for a shed. Finally the day came , after 2 cancellations . 2 people arrived to erect the shed. It was pointed out that the concrete base wasn’t level and that I could put batons underneath to make it level. The shed was erected and because the base wasn’t level the doors are crooked. The opening window doesn’t close properly and you could see daylight from inside the shed on the right hand door.
The quality of the shed is fairly good but the fitting and service leaves a lot to be desired. We got them back for the window and bits missed off from the first time. The missing items were fitted , the window supposedly fixed but not really, still doesn’t close properly.
There doors are crooked and was told it was my fault as I accepted the shed asis from the 1st time.
Would I choose the style of shed again, yes. Would I go to the suppliers or fitters, no way.

Poor quality product and service
Purchased loglap summerhouse with roof singles in October last year, delivered and installed in December. Sales / order process from office at Roxton Garden Centre was good.
Issue with initial installation as they forgot to install some items and had to come back a few days later but not a major issue. Construction quality is ok but not great.
Over the period from December until May this year I had to get them out four times to properly tack / fix down the roof shingles and make the shed water-tight. On each occasion they assured me that they had dealt with the issue, incorrect tacks / more adhesive / exceptional high winds / exposed area / etc, etc. It now seems to be resolved but I have to question why this couldn’t have been resolved properly at the beginning – I haven’t moved the shed and would expect the roof to hold up to the typical pressure of the UK weather system otherwise the product wouldn’t be fit for purpose. Lots of needless phone calls / emails / visits.
Overall disappointed. I did initially want to order another shed next to it to match but have now ordered elsewhere.

Super happy with new shed
We bought an 8x6 Merit Apex Thermowood shed via their Lidlington offices. Staff were friendly & helpful from first visit through to the installation of the shed. We are very pleased with the quality of the shed and transaction all round. A special mention of the two installers, Baden & Adam, who did a fantastic job. Courteous & friendly and just cracked on and got the shed up in just over an hour. Would recommend Merit based on our experience.

We receive a very small number of negative reviews and received a similar review under on eBay under a different name yesterday so we can only assume this is the same customer. If that assumption is incorrect - below please contact marston@meritgardenproducts.co.uk and we will gladly look into this further and amend on response.
For this eBay order- unfortunately due to the ongoing Covid 19 situation we have had delays to our usual delivery times alongside supplier delays and a depleted work force. This was relayed to you prior to delivery but was clearly, unfortunately, not to your satisfaction. We spent some time detailing our situation to you in a number of messages and offered a refund due to your disatisfaction.
After the product was delivered we then received a complaint on our ebay messaging system. We stated that our first port of call would be to replace any boards / framing and requested some photos. Photos were received but you stated that you had gone and bought some replacements from elsewhere. The photos showed a few minor defects which wouldn't have undermined the structural integrity of the decking kit and were only present on 3 lengths of framing out of the whole kit.
I'm sorry once again you have not had a great experience with us and i'm sorry our usually service has been so affected by the current situation we are all experiencing. We are a small family run business and are truly trying our best. In a situation where some businesses are unfortunately having to close their doors we are massively grateful for the support and understanding from the large majority of our customers.

The staff are very helpful in the shop and the chap that fits them is great and does a really good job
And with the prices included fitting on the merit range makes them cheaper than a lot of other companies that make you pay for fitting separate

Spent thousands; can't use the shed as doors and window have failed
Bought a decent size, 44mm logs and put three long double doors in and put electrics in. Spent as much as we could as a studio. It was installed by them, it is wonky and still cant open or close any doors or the window (handle dropped off today); all three doors, installed for art studio light are warped and stuck. Hefting them on and off to adjust has not solved it and company are not interested. So disappointed I will probably just use it for garden junk and give up on my dream studio. Please be aware that even painting it, preserving it and being really careful they have told us they don't care and cant fix it. They have been out to see, adjust and left us with gaps and unfixed doors. Tough luck apparently.

I'm disapointed your review states we 'don't care," as we have been back to your property on numerous occasions to make any amendments to the doors and have spent a lot of time and care in responding to the numerous email exchanges we've had regarding your building.
Unfortunately- as explained in our emails timber is a natural product and can be liable to contraction and expansion meaning some level of aftercare is required in order to minimise these issues. As your building has a number of doors unfortunately this aftercare does require a bit of time and potentially has to be done more frequently.

This was the first time we'd dealt with SD Home & Gardens. We had arranged to get a building at our Stowmarket branch, local to them, for collection. We made this building to order and planned in for the day as agreed. We are sorry there was an unfortunate delay in logistics meaning the shed was on site in the PM of the day agreed rather than the AM as anticapted and planned. We have heard no issues regarding the product itself and we're sorry our service on this occasion did not meet SD Home & Gardens expectations. We have many trade customers delighted with our service and we wish SD Home & Gardens the best in the future.

Terribly customer service. Be aware that the width of a shed is not the front view of a shed where the door and windows are, that is the depth according to Merit Garden Sheds. The width is the distance from front to back!!!!

The order form you signed on March 14th has both the dimensions of the building that you received and a diagram to help advise our customers of the standard orientation of our buildings. The issues presented above were not raised prior to installation but after the building had been installed and treated by yourself. We were sympathetic that a genuine misunderstanding may have occurred, despite the confirmed and signed order form. As per your wishes, we agreed to offer a discount on a future purchase in order to facilitate the storage issues you have had with the building being a different orientation to what you expected. , We felt 10% discount was a sufficient good will gesture. Unfortunately, you felt this was an 'insult,' and decided to leave the numerous reviews as a consequence. An email was sent on Thursday 13th April to which we have not yet received a reply. We would welcome a response to this email.
