Not waterproof, warranty not honored

I purchased a pair of waterproof Merrell hiking boots. They were not waterproof since my feet were soaking wet after walking through dew on the grass. I applied for a warranty with Merrell and they declined the Warranty since I purchased the boots Amazon who is not an authorized provider. Go figure.

Quality of shoes are poor for the amount of money spent. I paid $80 for a pair of shoes I wore for 3 months. The shoes are pulling away from the rubber sole. The shoes are now out of warranty and I have no recourse.

I am not surprised that Merrell have…

I am not surprised that Merrell have such a poor star rating. I am a pensioner and go hiking once or twice a year in the summer. I bought a pair of Merrell hiking boots which were almost £150.00 - this was a lot of money for me as I only use them once a year, but I thought I was buying quality. However this was not the case, the moulded section at the back that cups the heel cracked and is busy disintegrating. I was shocked at the poor quality. I called customer service to inform them what had happened, only to receive a curt response that the hiking boots only had a 1 year guarantee. So, because I only hiked twice, I paid roughly £75 per hike for a pair of boots that I have to throw away because they are more than 1 year old. I do not even want to discuss the ridiculousness of the poor quality and service, but I certainly will never purchase any shoes from them again and I will advise everyone of the dangers of the quality and the lack of service from their customer care department. Most expensive, poor quality shoes I have ever purchased considering that I wore them about 40 days in the 2 years.

11 days from date of order to product delivery

My wife ordered a pair of Moab hiking boots. The pair shipped out 5 days after the order was placed. And the shipping info indicates that it will take 6 days for the shipment to arrive, for a total of 11 days from order to product receipt. Must be super-cheap and super slow "ground" shipping. Their boots seems good. But their shipping and order processing is to 1990's standards.

In June of 2023 I purchased a pair of…

In June of 2023 I purchased a pair of Moab Flight shoes in blue and wore them around the house the rest of the day,my feet were very happy. Bought a second pair the next day, the last Sierra Trading Post had at the store. The next week I purchased 3 more blue and 3 in gray. I have a hard foot to fit so stock up when something fits well.I purchased 3 pair of the Moab 2 boot and water shoes as well. All was good till I was hiking in Glacier National Park last week and the shoe bottom where it wraps up on the toe peeled away. The shoes had less than 5 miles on them, and went to back up pair.I sent pics to merrell with invoices showing I purchased 5 pair of blue shoe. Warranty was refused because had over a year. I told them have many pair of blue shoe, bought 11 pair of Flight shoes and COULD NEVER wear them out in a year. I DO NOT RUN, I'm 67 years old and DISABLED. Merrell/Wolverine does not make customers, ONLY SALES. Like a pair of shoes would break the company, I AM NO LONGER A CUSTOMER. OH yes, I used to buy Wolverine boots as well.

Merrell’s Customer Service Poor. …

Merrell’s Customer service in Australia is as poor as the quality of their MOAB 2 hiking boots.
The rubber lining around the front of my wife’s boots perished and cracked after around 12 months of wear.
Merrell explained this away as being ‘a natural breakdown of materials’.
My wife and I have both been using Merrell boots for years, but will never buy another pair.

I purchased a pair of Merrell Extremely Disappointed with Merrell Boots Quality…

I purchased a pair of Merrell boots for the first time just four months ago, expecting the high quality and durability that the brand is known for. Unfortunately, my experience has been extremely disappointing.

Firstly, the boots were never waterproof as advertised. From the very beginning, they failed to keep my feet dry even in light rain. Just walking through some long grass to the horse trough was enough to get my feet wet. Secondly, the stitching on the boots has come apart, making them look shabby and unwearable. Most concerningly, the sole of one boot is already coming off, rendering them practically useless for any outdoor activities.

For a brand that promotes itself on durability and performance, this experience has been a letdown. I expected much better quality and longevity for the price I paid. I would not recommend these boots to anyone seeking reliable and durable footwear.

Outstanding customer service team (UK)

Had bought a pair of boots that had leaked 6 months from new keep in mind they were not gortex. Bought from amazon and on contact with amazon they were very unhelpful. So I contacted merrell who bent over backwards to help with a replacement at twice the cost.
Customer service was exceptional and all issues sorted in a very short time.
What a service absolutely fantastic.

Merrell Accentor shoes, heel disintegration.

I had a pair of Merrell walking shoes, Moab I think, I loved them and looked after them. After about a year of normal, twice a week wear, two miles at the most, the inside of the heel had worn through the material.
A closer look showed that the low plastic heel reinforcement was the culprit and it had rubbed itself through the heel padding.
I am always careful with my shoes, I undo the laces, I don't stretch and pull them on with the laces fastened, my parents couldn't afford to keep replacing shoes, and neither can I.
Anyway, as I liked the style, I bought another pair of Merrells, Accentor 2's, in May '22.
I was determined to keep these for 'best', so they have been treated well and they still look as good as new. I don't wear them much, but guess what ?
Yes, you guessed it, easily within a year the heels had worn through, they're perfect in every other way, but totally useless unless I want blisters.
I know they are just over two years old, out of 'warranty', but I'm seriously 'cheesed'.
I have loads of looked after, outdoor gear that I've worn and used for twenty odd years, still going strong and useful, I buy my second 'quality' pair of so called rugged, hiking / walking shoes from a top company and yet again I have simply thrown my hard earned money away.
I have called customer support today, a possible discount on a new pair? no thank you, I'll look at a better quality brand that has some good, long term reviews on their shoes.
This premature wear, disintegration is not a one off either, PLEASE LOOK THROUGH THE REVIEWS HERE and you will find plenty of other folk who have had, unfortunately, the same experience as me.
I REALLY wish I had looked on here prior to my second purchase.

Absolutely terrible - avoid

Absolutely terrible and I will never buy from this Company again. There was a glitch in the system that took an order for one pair of £80 shoes and turned it into two, taking £160. I reported this immediately by phone and asked for the order to be cancelled. It was not cancelled, two pairs of shoes arrived and I immediately returned them with great difficulty due to system errors with the order numbers. The customer service staff are vague and don’t seem to know what is going on. It is now several weeks later, it took around 3 weeks to receive confirmation of the return being received by them - and actually I received 3 confirmations which made no sense, and I have still not received my refund despite chasing numerous times. Shocking experience all round.

Outstanding Customer Service

I have always appreciated Merrell shoes having owned several pair over the years. For the first time I experienced a defective shoe. The customer service and warranty process was flawless. Having said that you must follow the instructions, however they quickly sent a voucher for a replacement pair of shoes. It is wonderful that Merrell stands by their product and their customers. Couldn't be happier with this experience.

ZERO STARS FOR MERRELL AND WOLVERINE WORLD WIDE, INC.

July 3, 2024 I want to give Merrell zero stars. I recently purchased two pairs of shoes from Merrell, each costing more than $130 each. The first pair was satisfactory, however, the second pair was defective. Upon contacting the company, I was informed by Jourdan, the Merrell Consumer Relations Representative, that I qualified for a refund. Even though I followed the instructions, I then received an email from Melanie, the Merrell Consumer Relations Representative, that I would not be refunded, but instead was offered a minimal discount on another pair of shoes with several restrictions. They have a lot of nerve and they only communicate using first names. The second pair of shoes I purchased had insoles that slipped and slid while I was driving, posing a safety hazard. Despite only wearing them twice, the shoes proved to be unusable. Merrell's warranty claims to guarantee their products are free of defects in materials and workmanship, yet they are refusing to honor their policy even after I provided evidence of the defect through photos.
Furthermore, Merrell implied that I did not purchase the shoes directly from their company, despite ordering from their website and having proof of purchase. I am now left with expensive shoes that are unwearable due to the defect. The warranty specifically excludes damage caused by misuse, negligence, or normal wear and tear, none of which apply to my situation.
It is disappointing to experience such poor customer service from a company that claims to provide exceptional footwear. I have lost faith in Merrell and their parent company, Wolverine World Wide, Inc., and will not be making any future purchases from them. I am left with expensive shoes that I cannot use, and Merrell has failed to uphold their end of the agreement with their customers. Buyer beware of Merrell and Wolverine.

Simply Fantastic Customer Service

Merrells seem to be on here twice, one rated at 1.5 and the other at 4.7, so I’m putting my review on both.

I’ve had amazing service from Merrells, in particular Emma, so if you are reading this thank you very much.

My wife bought me some boots in Feb 23 for Xmas and recently we noticed a defect in our opinion, but thought with them being over a year old we would get nowhere.

However, after e mailing them I have received simply outstanding service and have just been informed I can spend up to 150 Pounds on a new pair with free delivery. My other boots were only 80 on an offer, so this is very impressive customer service.

I just had to send photos of the soles and labels etc to prove they had but been used much and the process was simple and outstanding.

I would therefore recommend Merrells to snore and say ignore any negative reviews.

Thank you again Merrells

Never, Ever Buy Products from Merrell – Utter Disappointment

Never, ever buy products from Merrell. When I lost my Keen shoes during camping in New Zealand and needed a quick and reliable replacement, I thought Merrell would be the right choice. Oh boy, how wrong I was. I purchased a pair of Merrell Moab Speed GTX, and the experience has been nothing short of a nightmare.

After only two weeks of use, one of the shoes started to squeak. Then, within a month, the stitching at the heel began to tear apart. I have never in my life encountered such poor quality in a pair of shoes, especially from a brand I trusted to deliver reliable products.

When I contacted Merrell customer support, they told me to reach out to the retailer. After following their instructions, I received this response:

"Merrell in NZ has deemed that 'the concern where the stitching has begun to come away at the heel counter is not something we would cover under warranty as this is more a wear and tear concern that occurs over time; it is usually caused by excess friction which isn’t a fault in the construction or materials in the shoe.'"

Their explanation is nothing short of a joke. Claiming that such issues are "normal wear and tear" after just a month of wearing these shoes is outrageous. This is not an isolated case of bad luck; it's a clear indication of subpar materials and construction. Considering the price I paid, I would have been better off renting shoes, as this equates to about $10 per day for the brief period I was able to use them. Additionally, due to the damage, they are no longer waterproof, making the money spent on waterproof shoes for 30 days a complete waste.

Adding insult to injury, Merrell's dismissive stance on this matter has only amplified my frustration. The poor quality of their product matches only the poor quality of their customer service.

I want to warn potential customers about the shoddy quality of Merrell products. To provide undeniable proof, I can include my receipt and photos of the damaged shoes.

This experience has been nothing but disappointing. I will never purchase or recommend Merrell products again. Save your money and avoid the hassle – look elsewhere for reliable hiking gear.

I ordered shoes and when they were delivered the package was stolen from my front porch and when I called Merrell's customer support they said there was nothing they could do for me and to contact FedEx, which I did and they referred me back to Merrell. So I called their customer support back and the customer service rep advised me to fill out a home owner's insurance claim where the deductible would be far more that the cost of the shoes. I filed a complaint with the BBB and will not by any Merrell products going forward. My wife had an amazon package stolen at the same time and she called their customer service and they re-processed her order at zero charge and are shipping out her a new package ASAP. This should have been the same result with Merrell, but wasn't. I recommend not purchasing anything from them going forward. Their are better companies with better products of the same nature that have better customer service than this.,
