stop using metagenics

I’ve been in clinical practice for over 30 years, and over that time I’ve worked with many different supplement brands.

While Metagenics was once a brand I used regularly, I no longer recommend it. In my experience, there has been a noticeable change in the quality and consistency of their products compared to earlier years.

For this reason, I prefer to prescribe supplements from BioMedica. I find their formulations to be more reliable, with a strong focus on quality ingredients and consistent clinical outcomes.

My recommendations are always based on what I see working best for patients in practice.

WORST EXPERIENCE

WORST EXPERIENCE
The same as a lot of these other reviews.
A one off purchase and they lock you into a subs. I spent days trying to undo this subscription…….

I’m wake up this morning to find that the subscription is RENEWED and when you try to log on to their subscription page it doesn’t load…. Same as their number doesn’t ring….. same as their email bounces

0 Stars. As others have said I was automatically subscribed by their system to receive the same product again 1 month later. I never subscribed to this. Customer service told me I can't get a refund. I replied advising this is not acceptable as I didn't authorise this subscription and have not heard back from them. I can't believe they are still allowed to operate.

Metagenics customer service is terrible

Metagenics customer service is ridiculous. I received notification of my upcoming subscription order, I chose the option supplied by Metagenics to SKIP it. Then I am charged and the order is shipped anyway.
I ask customer service to refund and cancel the order AS I CHOSE TO SKIP THIS MONTH and CS person didn't read my one sentence email, instead chose to berate me and accuse me of not using the warning notice to skip my order..

Be very careful when buying their…

Be very careful when buying their product online. I bought a product online and one month later I received an email stating they were sending me another on my account which I wasn’t aware of.
Apparently when you purchase a product you are signing up to a monthly subscription in the small print. I rang to cancel and was told I had made an account by supplying my email address.
My intention was to purchase a one off product not buying a subscription.

No warning when purchasing vitamin B6 online

Purchased an online multiple B vitamin
No warning about possible nerve damage from B6.
Rang the next day to cancel order.
Which had not left warehouse.
Consultants were quite hard to understand and not sure if they fully understood me at first. I was told they could not refund, then I was told I could get a refund only once I have received the product and would have to pay postage back to the company.. after much bargaining I was told they would cover the cost of postage, but an email was sent to me saying that I had to cover the cost of postage??.
Why not put a warning on your B6 products.
7 times I asked to speak to a supervisor or manager, my request was totally ignored.
Will buy from a different company next time.

I accidentally ordered three of one of…

I accidentally ordered three of one of the supplements that I purchased. I tried contacting the company multiple times, but nobody ever responded to me. I left several emails with their customer service and never heard back from anybody so I got stuck paying for these extra products that I only got because of a confusing website.

Now Owned By Private Equity - It Shows.

This company is now owned by a private equity fund. It is so sad to see what was once a supplier of high-quality practitioner-only therapeutic products owned and staffed by people who cared, become a company of sales people with profit targets. The customer support and delivery service, which used to be so helpful seems to be the victim of sever cost cutting. I cannot recommend this brand to patients in good faith.

They use extremely sneaky tactics when you buy from them they automatically keep your details and keep charging you every month and keep sending you products unless you find the buy once only options just another greedy company

I applied for a practitioner account APRIL 2025

I applied for a practitioner account on their Facebook ad/page including a copy of my advanced naturopathy diploma, abn etc
After 2 weeks I hadn’t heard anything so I reapplied another 2 weeks nothing.
Rang them, answering machine left messages still nothing.
Rang again phone not answered professionally was unsure if I had the right number. Gave my business name etc goes to check & said “you don’t have a degree, so your application is automatically rejected “
So 6 years of study not good enough to dispense your products !!!Plus I’ve been a naturopath for over 15 years.
Ridiculous have never been treated so badly.
Will no longer use or recommend their products or company to anyone.

Predatory Practice

Metagenics was acquired by a private equity firm in 2021 and has gone downhill. Quality has been cut and they adopted predatory practices. I requested a refund via email straight after a mistaken order. Even though the order hadn’t been shipped or actioned customer services say they can’t refund a digital order? It’s 2025 - literally first time I’ve heard this. Never ordering again

Terrible customer service

Terrible customer service. I spoke to two separate people on Metagenics live chat both responding with "let me look into this" without any resolution to updating the address on a package that has not yet left their warehouse.

Metagenics is the absolute worst…

Metagenics is the absolute worst vitamin company ever. I ordered from them in December. I tried to order from them again in January and they shut my account. I called them and no one got back to me. I tried again today and nothing. Called the rep and they couldn't give me any rhyme or reason, they just said "someone will have to call you back and they do not know if anyone will get back to me today because it is 1 hour before closing." Then 10 mins later this guy calls me accusing me of selling metagenics on Amazon, which is a bold face lie because I don't even have a license to sell on Amazon. I told him to prove it, and he couldn't give me a straight answer. I told them they are racist, fascist, and discriminatory against black people who are trying to do better in this world. I have already reached out to all my patients to not take their products because they are toxic people working for that organization. My patients are unable to leave their homes, so I provide in home care and nutritional care. There are far better products out there then metagenics any way, and they don't deserve ANY PRACTITIONERS business. I will be sending a formal complaint to the state of California to shut them down. They messed with the wrong one.

This company is HORRIBLE

This company is HORRIBLE! I am a practitioner and applied for an account. Initially, they declined me, but never told me why. I asked for a justification of their decision TWICE with no response. They always, state "let me look into this." Never heard a word since. DO BETTER Metagenics! You have a LOT of competition. SMH.

Bad product change

I purchased a bottle of D3 /k 10,000.I've been using this brand for many years.But I would get them from my naturalpathic.Upon them being out I turned to Amazon's Pattern Direct.And now with these untakeable caps that have totally been changed in smell and color.
Every time i open the bottle which has been 3 times .I'm transported to a Mortuary of embalming and floral.The old batch had that typical supplement odor No problem. I gave Metagenics a call to see what was the problem on 2-13-24
Spoke to Lauren ,Waiting still to here from a Rene.The bottom line is these companies see customers as needy.And are only concerned about the $ line.Will not give their brand a second glance .And will start back checking to see who
these companies have sold out to..Change in product means disruption in house.

SHADY COMPANY...NEVER RECEIVED REFUND

Returned a supplement for a refund and refund reason was valid and within the refund's return window. Despite numerous calls and emails for 2 months, never received my refund. Then Metagenics sent a shady email, deactivated my account. I feel they were just covering their buts, because the date on the email was after the return window's date. Shady company that does not care about their customers. Will never purchase from them again.

Management is horrendous, bullying and obviously not inspirational

Terrible management who berate, harass and belittle their employees. They are not growing people but try to keep them small. They also tend to let go of a lot of talented people pretty often due to unknown/random reasons, and the way they go about it is weird and shady. Overall it feels like the agency is more about revenue and making money at the end of the day rather than thinking of the people.
