Metro Developments are the most trusted builders around, with workmanship, cleanliness, and advice that are by far the best I’ve ever experienced. I trusted them with a huge building project and would never hesitate to recommend them. John Paul, the director, is amazing and always offers the best advice. He’s currently mid-project, and his patience with me is admirable, especially since I’m constantly changing my mind due to my indecisiveness. this is a very important to me this project is my future and the future of my children and i wouldn't trust it with anyone else but metro and JP , i have had work done in the past at home and I've ripped of by shoddy builders

How can we thank you, the patients, and understanding you have shown us. We don’t think the refurbishment would have been completed without you.
We asked four builders to look at our drawings, and quote for the refurbishment of our newly purchased bungalow. After visits from the builders, we settled on Metro Development in Prescot Merseyside, Managing Director Mr Paul Dumbell. Paul visited, his understanding gave us confidence, together with a detailed quotation. Paul was very happy to make numerous visits to discuss questions and concerns we had. All this on top of all his wonderful charity work.

Refurbishment started in June 2023 with fantastic summer weather, shortly after we encountered bad weather and major issues, all outside of Metro Developments remit and control. The build had long periods of inactivity, Paul Dumbell liaising with local authority kept us informed at each stage of the project. Seeing the jigsaw coming together was difficult, but with Paul we reached the finishing line December 2023. We are not sure if many other builders would or could have managed to complete our refurbishment, thankfully we had Paul Dumbell and his team.

We have left a 5 star review for Metro Developments on Rated People in Sept concerning the building of our new extension in 2022 which we stand by.
Our complaint is about the appalling after sales service we received in connection to the massive burst radiator valve we had in the extension Toilet we had complained in Nov which was a month and half before the burst about the right valve being at fault,We had two visits by the plumber who just tightened the part which did not fix the fault said wanted a new part no more visits without it valve changed and hoped problem solved. started to notice wet patches on the floor and when we touched the left hand valve it was wet we contacted them again stating the problem said needed a new replacement the same as the right one.
plumber came tightened again A day or so later it started to drip much heavier rang them and explained out came the plumber tighten it no use it was starting to really leak heavy now 2 weeks before Xmas rang getting worse we need a new part no more visits to tighten it will be done .Xmas week told them it is filling couple of litre buckets that need empting 3-4 times a night heating turned off it poured out I am bad sleeper so could stay up at night to empty buckets.start of that week we had a workman visit told him the tale yes okay I will wait to see how the leak goes I said told the office want a new part explained in detail will not see the full leak while heating is on won't waste my time then but will tell the boss need new part. My Husband tried while we waited different self short fix items from DIY shops but it just kept flooding we tried ringing the office no avail I said they have closed for Xmas we are not getting it fixed which made me very angry we had been told we had the companies Year Guarantee any problems just ring will be sorted.Boxing Day we kept checking empting buckets every day all the time drives you mad,Early afternoon I was in the kitchen cooking when my husband was checking the leak When he just let out this massive yell need help quick ran into the joining room and tried to open the toilet door it was a Nighmare sight that met me the valve it appeared had blown out and the water was like Niagara Falls pouring out turn off the heating quick battling to try and get a fix on it was not working as it was an open pipe the water was shooting up on my ceiling over walls toilet sink side unit the floor was flooded went into the outer room under shelving tall freezer I don't panic ever but this was beyond anything I was holding large buckets overflowing in a minute husband was trying to stem the flood but just kept gushing later he got it to a manageable pour into the buckets we held I said will ring the builders I was shaking that much with panic could not even find the file with the mobile nos then remembered his son who did the tiling had given me his I rang and told him needed to speak to his Dad tell me what's the trouble I told him and said we need emergency plumber now been telling the office for weeks about this valve I will get something sorted thank God rushed down to tell my husband who was beyond soaked to the skin he had managed to put some temporary putty and tape on it but was still pouring out but going into the buckets.
When the phone rang elated must be a plumber coming only to be spoken too by a woman don't know who she was. Now picture this early evening by now I am soaked still standing on a flooded floor deep in water my husband is in soaked clothes that had to be peeled of him later he is trying to suck up with a wet and dry machine as much water as he could still masses left but able to stop it coming into my living room which has real wood flooring all this Due to their Negligent workmanship to be told we are not sending any one I said you must have an emergency staff on call No I said do you have contractors you bring in for matters like this No? Then she said this after all it is Boxing Day and people don't want to be disturbed at this time she said, I replied rage bouncing me off the roof why should I care about your people not wanting to be disturbed we have told you for a month and a half about this I again explained all the horror we have just been through and it was not finished I did not want to be disturbed how dare you say this to me when it's your fault she said find a plumber we will pay you are leaving us to do the work not even going to help with that No and she put the phone down.the Days that followed are a nightmare night, day ringing over & over companies No answers till 29th Dec when MRH Plumbing came to our rescue within the hour and repaired both incorrect valves excellent service.
Metro rang 3rd Jan see if we got plumber we apologise I said don't except it and tell your Boss I said so.
My husband got a bad chest infection due to this had meds till 24th Jan.my Migraine started.Family Visits to us cancelled Prepared food wasted Xmas was Totally Ruined.
