For Good Service shop Hobby Lobby

I called two Michaels stores. I gave them the benefit of perhaps being busy on the first calls. Neither ever answered. I then called Hobby Lobby and the phone was answered promptly and pleasantly. I was transfered to the department that could help me. The phone was picked up and the customer service was great. Michaels can kick rocks!

i can only tell bad things about Michaels.com

I have never registered with Michaels or made a purchase there, yet I'm bombarded with spam emails – about 50 per month. This is completely unacceptable and a blatant violation of privacy standards.

From my perspective, michaels.com is highly questionable with dubious morals and practices. The fact that you can't even properly unsubscribe from a newsletter destroys any trust. I wouldn't recommend doing business with this shady organisation.

Colonial Heights, VA

I went to the Colonial Heights, VA Michaels to pickup and purchase Valentine Supplies for my grandson’s elementary class. There was an older Caucasian female at the register before me that took a long time at the register. There was no problem, but I am disabled with unbearable pain. It had taken some time with this consumer. I went to the register next to purchase and had questions about my items. The older Caucasian Cashier was very arrogant and made me feel as if I were not worthy of her time. She was very short with me and rude. I do not want anyone to bend over backwards for me and my request or questions were simple. I deserve courtesy and respect just like anyone else. I hate prejudice and this is what I experienced with her. The next Caucasian Female at the register was treated with kindness. I never said anything rude to her, but this Cashier responded like I was as not worthy of her time. I was so incredibly upset, and I finally purchased my items and left the store. I am a Senior African American Female that gives respect and kindness also. This was so very upsetting, and I did not deserve this treatment. THIS IS JUST WRONG!!! You may contact me for further information.

Bad Coupon Practice

This store brand - like some other stores such as Kohl's, "give you a coupon" AS YOU ARE CHECKING OUT - these cannot be used until your "next visit' and expire within a week or two. This is a TERRIBLE practice - I no longer shop at Kohl's just because of this practice.

If you are really honest about offering coupons and attracting repeat customers - allow the coupon to be applied to the current purchase (in addition to other coupons that might be brought into the store)!!

I would shop there FIRST if that were the case, along with lots of others who find this practice not only annoying but disrespectful.

My honest review about Yoto

---

⭐ Yoto Review From the Ballard Family

⭐ How We Joined Yoto

I was introduced to Yoto by two people who cared about me. My special‑needs teacher (a man) told me, “This will help my students. You should leave the other company and go to Yoto.” Later, one of my dad’s coworkers also recommended it for me, my brother, and my niece.

When I turned 38, I got my first Yoto Mini for my birthday. Later I received my Third Generation Yoto Player as an early Christmas gift, but it was part of the same celebration.

My brother Paul, who is 29, now uses Yoto too. My niece Lizzy, who is 5, also has her own Yoto Player. My dad — Lizzy’s grandfather and Paul’s father — bought ALL the Yoto Players for the kids in our family. We all used the Toon Box before, but we switched because Yoto was recommended for us.

All the grown‑ups — my mom, my dad, and my brother — love the players and love that their children use Yoto.

---

⭐ My Experience With the Third Generation Player

I’ve used Yoto since October 1, 2025. I switched to the Third Generation because I needed the night‑light and OK‑to‑Wake clock. I’m scared of the dark, so the blue night‑light and green wake color help me feel safe. I also travel with my player, and having the night‑light built in helps me stay calm away from home.

I use Make‑Your‑Own cards to stay connected to someone special to me in Tasmania, Africa (9 hours ahead). His messages help me when I have big feelings. I’ve made 14 cards, and I love the bedtime songs on YotoSpace.com.

My family also enjoys Yoto. We like the Adventure Jackets, and my brother and I listen to Jake on Yoto Daily.

😡 What Needs Improvement

Customer service is the biggest problem.
The Toon Box company cared more about helping us and keeping our players safe. Yoto does not feel the same. I contacted customer service and never heard back. It feels like our opinions don’t matter.

You also removed the USA phone number, so now we have to call London or wait a long time on chat. That is not fair to families who need help quickly.

The players also need improvements:

• They are not waterproof.
• There is no way to find a lost player, even though many people travel with theirs.
• Cards should have a chip showing who they belong to, so if someone else uses them, the player alerts the owner.

We love Yoto, but these issues make us feel unheard.

---

🌟 Final Thoughts

We will always be customers because Yoto helps our family in many ways. But if you want more kids, parents, and special‑needs adults to stay with your company, you must improve customer service and listen to the families who depend on your products.

Thank you for reading.
This review is from the Ballard family.
We hope you fix what is wrong.

Terrible customer experience!

Went to Michaels hamilton place, Chattanooga, th. Waited at checkout while 3 clerks finished chatting. I asked one clerk where to check out. She told me to use a new self check out. Having never used it before, I asked several questions which frustrated her to no end. I asked for help again and she told me she didn't have time to help me. After I finally figured it out. I bagged my items in too small bag (afraid to ask for larger one) I did ask for manager, she pointed him out. I told him about my experience and pointed out rude clerk. He smiled and apologized. My last trip to michaels. Thank goodness we have another better option in same area.

I have done yarn art for over 50+ years. However, the last 3 or 4 orders from Michaelsl (with their Loops & Threads house brand) have been a complete waste of money, and time.

Talk about "yarn vomit"! The skeins are almost unusable, probably lost half of each one.

I purchased a Cricut product I needed to cut felt. I asked for the Maker 4, but was given the Explore 4 instead - it doesn't cut felt. Immediately, within the hour after purchasing, I took it back to Michael's with the receipt. Michael's won't replace it because the box was opened. Now I have a $300 paper weight I can't use. Unbelievably short sighted customer service. DO NOT BUY THROUGH MICHAELS

BEWARE ORDERING SLICK BLUE PRODUCTS Via MICHAEL’S WEBSITE!!!!

BEWARE ORDERING SLICK LUE PRODUCTS ONLINE FROM MICHAELS!! I ordered 4 packages of cloth napkins, each package stated to contain 4 napkins - a total of 16 napkins ordered. Michael’s supplier of the napkins is SlickBlue. Inly one package of 4 was delivered in an unopened package. Michel’s is having me deal with SlickBlue with respect to the 3 packages that were not delivered. The napkins cost over $100. I have provided SlickBlue with proof of my order and requested that tgey complete fulfillment of the order by sending me the remaining 3 packages. They have been sliw to respond and their most recent communication asked for a phto of the mailer in which the delivery of tge one package was shipped. That mailer h
Was discarded when the shipmet was delivered, and I consider the request outrageous! This company is trying to steal the cost of three of the packages, approximately $75, and Michaels is requiring that I deal with SlickBlue, since they were to be the shippers, even though I ordered on the Michael’s website.

In-store only, never order for delivery

I have purchased literally thousands of dollars of merchandise through Michaels to supply the needs of my small business creating art and jewelry for my gallery. I found shopping in the store is usually okay. They don't always have the merchandise I need but that's to be expected. The one area that they absolutely stink at is managing orders to be shipped to your home or business. Their system to process orders for shipping is horrendously bad. And returning merchandise ordered through Michael's that was supplied through a third party entity is a complete nightmare. I ordered items through Michael's that were supply by Blick art. The order was mishandled by both Blick and Michael's; and then FedEx. It was horrendous. I would love to leave a one-star rating because of that one order and all of the aggravation I had from it, but to be fair Michaels itself has some good qualities so I can't give it the lowest rating.

Website experience was horrible

Website experience was horrible. Kept popping things up, shifting things, and slow loading. It cleared the shopping cart while trying to sign in, and wouldn't take a gift card number as payment, saying there was an error. We had to complete the order with their phone app (so missed out on being able to see anything easily on the big screen) to get it to work

I just left one of your stores and I…

I just left one of your stores and I bave absolutely nothing good to say about it! Please STOP with the advertising of fabric because there. Was nothing to speak of in your store. 2 very short aisles at the very back with a big sign on the framing facility counter to go get you stuff cut in front of the store….one cashier….rude….asking for you to come to the very end of the check out area, no polite, not greeting….when I asked for 3.5 yards I was told that you don’t sell half yards….she then measures out the left over of the remnant and there is 3.25 yards but she tells me I will be charged for 3, which by the way is what I had asked for. All the other fabric I picked for quilting I had to buy yard, no half yards….very convenient for quilters wanting to do 9 patch quilts….I then told her I had a coupon and she was so very happy to tell me that Michael’s does not honor coupons on fabric. This wonderful store is located in Davie, Florida. Beware people….also the quality of what they had leaves a lot to be desired.

DON’T ORDER CUSTOM FRAMES FROM MICHAELS!

Ordered custom canvas frames for Christmas presents this year and the experience has been abominable! The Website promised they would arrive by Christmas with the $40+ expedited shipping. Here we are two weeks later on January 4th and I’m still waiting on one of the frames to arrive. The staff inside the store stated they aren’t able to look up the order, or do anything remotely helpful for that matter. It’s hard to believe they can’t pull up the order in their system to help track or assist with receipt of the items. Despite the fact it was ordered on Michael’s website and is being delivered to the Michaels store! Makes no sense. I would give it zero stars if it let me. The poor soul behind the desk wasn’t at fault but had to hear my vent nevertheless

Another business that doesn't care

Since Joann went out of business Michaels is the only game in town when buying yarn or very little fabric. The store is messy, common in the craft world, employees ok, but the customer service is absolutely horrible. I ordered yarn online and received all but one skein of yarn. It was shipped separately to the east coast (the other side of the US from me). I have no way to connect with Michaels to let them know. Still trying to figure out what the heck to do about this. USPS, the other very poorly run business! hahaha

No More Michael's for Me

For years, Michael’s was my go-to destination for all things crafts. However, over the past three years, my once-decent shopping experience has deteriorated into a complete disappointment. After my recent holiday shopping experience, I finally decided to close my account and unsubscribe. I'm just fed up with the ineffective coupons—whether in-store, online, or anywhere else—and their utter disregard for customer satisfaction. It’s frustrating that there aren’t any contact or feedback options for those aloof office managers who seem to just sit in the back, devising ridiculous hurdles for customers trying to make a purchase. No thanks. This explains why so many people are turning to Amazon—no inflated prices luring you in with bogus coupons that don’t work, no store credits slipping through your fingers after you leave, and no shopping dictated by their inconvenient hours. Do I want Amazon to be the only player in town? Absolutely not. But retailers, if you continue to cling to these outdated tactics, you’re asking for it. Goodbye, Michael’s!

Sleazy thin fabric NOT VELVET RIBBON

Sign said “buy two get two free” on the ribbon aisle. When I went up with 2 of one kind and 2 of another the salesperson said “oh it doesn’t work that way.”
So I bought two spools of the same 2” x3 yards labeled “velvet” ribbon. The spools cost $11.99 EACH. There was cellophane over the ribbon. When I went to do my project I took off the cellophane and it was actually very thin very stretchy fabric that was cut to two inches wide. Absolutely NOT VELVET ribbon but cheap fabric. What a scam to customers. I will not be buying at Michaels anymore.

No notice no returns - your just out of luck at Michaels

I purchased a after Christmas item, a lite small Burch tree, regularly listed at $99.99, on sale on 12/29 for $40. There were not signed bout 'all sales final' or anything like that. I unboxed it on 12/31 and plugged it in. Some lights went on, some did not. I pulled and pushed various things on the tree, but some light came on while others did not. I took the tree to the same store I purchased it at on 12/31 with my original receipt. I was told that they would not refund my money nor even let me exchange it for another one. Nothing. I was just out of luck, because it was a Christmas item. This is absolutely HORRIBLE policy. I will NEVER shop there again and encourage others to buy elsewhere as well. HORRIBLE.
