Nie mehr einen Mietwagen von Europcar (Dänemark)

Bei der Abholung des Mietwagens wurde uns versucht Zusatzversicherungen anzudrehen. Wir lehnten diese ab, bekamen den Mietwagenschlüssel übergeben mit der Aussage dieser sei Schadenfrei und wir sollen dieses unterschreiben. Ohne dass wir eine Chance hatten den Mietwagen vorher in Augenschein zu nehmen.
Bei der Rückgabe sollten wir den Mietwagen einfach auf einen Parkplatz stellen. Obwohl wir nachfragten nahm diesen keiner in Augenschein. Als wir den Mietwagen auf den Parkplatz abstellten war dieser SCHADENFREI. 24 Stunden später erhielten wir eine EMAIL das bei dem Mietwagen ein minimaler Lackkratzer gefunden wurde und man deswegen Schadenhandlinggebühren erhebe und wegen dem Schaden ca. 75% unserer Kaution einbehält.
So kann man seine Gewinnmarge natürlich auch steigern. Der Kratzer war auf dem uns zugesandten Foto gar nicht als Kratzer erkennbar. In unseren Augen handelt es sich hier um klassischen Betrug.
Nie wieder einen Mietwagen von diesen Laden.

Never again will we rent a car from Europcar (Denmark).

When we picked up the rental car, they tried to sell us additional insurance. We declined, were given the rental car keys and told that the car was damage-free and that we should sign for it. We didn't even have a chance to inspect the rental car beforehand.
When returning the car, we were told to simply park it in a car park. Although we asked, no one inspected it. When we parked the rental car in the car park, it was DAMAGE-FREE. 24 hours later, we received an EMAIL stating that a minimal paint scratch had been found on the rental car and that damage handling fees would therefore be charged and approximately 75% of our deposit would be retained due to the damage.
Of course, this is one way to increase your profit margin. The scratch was not even recognisable as a scratch in the photo sent to us. In our opinion, this is a classic case of fraud.
Never again will we rent a car from this company.

We received an additional invoice of 500+ EUR after returning the car

We booked our car through Mietwagen-Check, and rented a car from Auto Europe, which forwarded us to K10 in Mallorca. After returning the car to K10, they were sending us an additional invoice over more than 500 EUR for things that are unjustified (e.g., additional damage of the car that did not happen). When we've sent them an email asking for proof of the damage, we did not get any reply. This has been the worst car rental experience so far and we do NOT recommend MietwagenCheck, Auto Europe or K10 to anyone.

Incompetence that will mercilessly WASTE your time

It's hard to tell if this company are insidious scammers or simply incompetent beyond belief. After three botched car rental booking with mietwagen-check (no more for me, thanks), I tend to think it's the latter. They work with very shady rental companies who cancel people's booking on their whim, have their actual headquarters miles away from the stated address, or even prove to not work with brokers at all and know nothing about your booking.

Absolute incompetence

Booked a car in Lima/Peru through Mietwagen-Check.de, received the voucher by bsp, local operator was AVIS.
All available insurances (CDW etc.) included, additional coverage of deductibles by Allianz.
When I arrived at the counter at Lima Airport and presented the voucher, the employee told me that there is no insurance included from what he sees in the system and if I want to have the insurance package, I have to pay an additional fee. Additionally, the deductibles were more than double the amount as stated on my voucher. After a longer discussion (simple statement from AVIS: no insurance included), I accepted the higher deductible and refused any additional insurance. Couldn´t reach anybody at Mietwagen-check or bsp on the phone, but contacted them the same evening (e-mail) and asked for help and esp. confirmation that I have the insurance as booked and payed - my contract with AVIS stated explicitely that I have no insurance and that I have to pay USD 12.000 in case the car is stolen.
First answer by Mietwagen-check: "You booked the basic package and this is why recommend our all-in packages including insurance." So obviously nobody cared to read my mail but they sent a stupid and incorrect answer.
I asked again and they took care, however with complete incompetence. "You are insured with Allianz." - No, I am not insured with Allianz, this is just the coverage of the deductible, but the deductible is much higher than what I booked and some parts are NOT covered. I didn´t come to any solution...
Nothing happened, so I can´t prove that Mietwagen-Check gave wrong information and the only good thing with them was that they at least answered.

But I am sure that the information given was wrong. Usual system: Insurances are prepaid and included, but an additional insurance covers the deductibles (in this case Allianz) and this (second) insurance happens outside of the rental contract. But as AVIS said I have no basic insurance, this wasn´t applicable and there was nobody that understood this problem.

And they just wondered that the blocked amount on my CC was more than double the amount stated on my voucher. But nobody solved it, this was the frustrating part: I have a voucher, but AVIS says that they see different information in the system. I don´t get what I payed for and I am the one who should fix it - HOW??? AVIS ignored the voucher, bsp and Mietwagen-Check ignored what AVIS did and just said "but you have the voucher" and "why have you refused the insurance" (CAUSE THEY WANTED ME TO PAY ON TOP FOR IT!) and all the sh*t was given to my side. In such cases, I expect a customer-friendly behavior, I don´t know why AVIS acted like that but it shouldn´t be my problem...

Careful people! Avoid.

Careful people! this agency seems like a problematic agency!

Do not be tempted by their offers. you will end up paying more than the booking form you filled.
You will also spend time + aggravation dealing with them.

I booked in US Dollars but got charged in Euros, causing me extra costs on top of the higher exchange rate (11% !!!)

I complained to Driveboo but got a reply from MietwagenCheck which obviously owns it (as they are the ones responding to my emails). they said they are checking and waiting for a reply from Driveboo..
chased them 3 times.
they were just driving me crazy, I guess hoping for me to forget about it or raise my hands..

To be fair, I have to mention that I did get the discount as a wire transfer after the transaction. But no refundand/or reply regarding the wrong charge in Euros!

244€ hidden fees

Booked a car in Italy for 4 days, paid everything in advance with additonal insurance. So far so good.

At the airport, we had to wait more than one hour, even after 3 calls. At the car rental, they wantes us to charge 244€ additional fees, which we did not want to pay. In the contract it says we only had to pay fuel, nothing else!! They didn't give us the car so we had to find another car rental....

MietwagenCheck did not pay us the money back. Absolutley bad service, never again.

Very slow and unresponsive customer…

Very slow and unresponsive customer service. I replied to an email giving my order number and did not hear back for an entire week. When you call some of the phone numbers don't work (Austrian). You now pay to get on the phone with them because they are unresponsive otherwise. Do NOT recommend it!

So bad experience

So bad experience. The booking was fake and in the end we had no car. ruined the trip. Be aware! don't book with them ever!!!!
Never Ever again.
I called several times. Nobody has any idea or any information. they just pass to eachother and no result in the end. Don't be fooled by their name.
Worst experience in my life with car rental!!

Complete confusion and lack of communication with car rental providers!

They are completely confused about whether winter tyres are or are not payable extra (or whether they even are available at all!), despite those being shown as 'included' in the booking process. Also, tried to shove unsolicited insurance on me that I never opted for, and which I had to spend time figuring how to cancel. NOT recommended.
