This company will try to scam you 2 years later!

I cancelled my fibre service with MiFibra in October 2024 when the 12-month contract ended. They acknowledged the cancellation in writing on 31 October 2024 and gave me the address to return their router. I returned the router via Correos CERTIFIED MAIL on 7 November 2024 (tracking number CD0C1F0000144930023700C, receipt no. 076800120241107000056, sent from Porto Cristo post office to their address in Linares). I forwarded the Correos receipt to them on 28 November 2024. Delivery was confirmed. Done. Or so I thought.
Nearly TWO YEARS later, in August 2026, they suddenly demanded €60 for two invoices (November and December 2024) - months AFTER the cancellation was confirmed and AFTER the router was returned via certified mail. When I pointed this out and re-sent the proof, they ignored it. Then on 3 September 2026, they sent a threatening "pre-legal demand" threatening me with court proceedings (proceso monitorio), seizure of my bank accounts and assets (embargo), and registration in defaulters' credit files (ASNEF/EQUIFAX/BADEXCUG) - all over a €60 debt that doesn't exist.
When I called them out, their response was: "We never received shipping proof of sending the router back... if you sent shipping proof, please share with us to close the case." I HAD sent it to them on 28 November 2024. A certified mail receipt with a tracking number they can verify on correos.es right now. They either lost it on purpose or are banking on the fact that most people won't keep a Correos receipt for two years.
This is their business model: cancel your service, return their equipment via certified mail, and then months or years later they come after you for phantom invoices, hoping you've lost the proof of return. They threaten you with court, asset seizure, and credit blacklisting to scare you into paying a debt that doesn't exist. If you're a MiFibra customer - KEEP EVERY RECEIPT, EVERY EMAIL, EVERY CANCELLATION CONFIRMATION. Send everything via CERTIFIED MAIL. They will try this on.
The actual contracting company behind MiFibra is THE TELECOM BOUTIQUE S.L. (part of the Phone House / Dominion group), and the distributor is MIFIBRA COMUNICACIONES S.L. (a €3,005 capital micro-company in Linares, Jaén). I have reported them to FACUA, the Balearic Islands consumer authority, the Andalusian consumer authority, and the Spanish Data Protection Agency (AEPD) for threatening to process my personal data in credit files for a non-existent debt.
Avoid this company. And if they come after you with the same scam - you are not alone. File a complaint with FACUA and the AEPD. They are counting on you being too tired to fight €60. Don't let them.
