Jordan is a credit to the business.
Having an unpaid debit is never nice. But the service with MIL was excellent. Jordan especially was outstanding blending understanding and a true human approach to my situation made the process of paying it back almost a joy! Almost I still had to pay what I owed!!
Jordan worked with me to set a payment plan and followed up when he said he would. He is a credit to the business. Professional, understanding, kind and a true gentleman.

I had my identity stolen to set up an account with an energy company. This had not been paid. MIL collections were appointed by the energy company to recover the debt. They contacted me following their processes. I explained that I had never had any dealings with the company, and had not lived at that address. I was advised to contact Action Fraud, and after sending further proof of my identity, I have been advised that they accept I was not responsible for the debt.
I was assisted by Ryan Hobbs, Dylan Hill and Dan Brown who were all very helpful and polite.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ A Truly Outstanding Long Term…
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ A Truly Outstanding Long Term Collections Partner
Our experience with MIL Collections has been exceptional from day one. Their collection rates consistently outperform every other DCA we’ve worked with, and the results speak for themselves.
What truly sets MIL apart is their approach to onboarding. They took the time to fully understand our culture, our internal collections processes, and the unique needs of our customers. They then tailored their strategy to seamlessly align with our business, something we have never experienced at this level with other agencies.
We’ve always felt valued as a client. MIL ensured our accounts were prioritised, keeping us updated regularly so we could confidently incorporate progress into our cash forecasting. That level of communication and transparency gave us absolute peace of mind.
MIL has become a genuine long-term strategic collections partner, stepping in to recover debt even after our internal credit control teams had exhausted all efforts. Their ability to resolve customer concerns and outstanding balances in a single-call resolution is impressive and has strengthened our customer relationships rather than damaging them.
We highly recommend MIL Collections to any business looking for a reliable, results-driven, and customer-focused collections partner. They continue to exceed expectations and deliver value far beyond standard DCA performance.
Not as scary as I thought
I was very worried before contacting milcollections. I spoke with Ryan hobbs who was very reassuring and put me at ease. Between us we have come up with a plan and I am able to enjoy my Christmas. Thankyou
A big solution for a small company
We are a small company and often get taken advantage of, by bigger players and invoices remain outstanding for long periods of time, which impacts our day-to-day operations. Thank goodness we found MIL collections. They understand the issues we we facing and took everything over for us, taking a huge burden off our shoulders. So far, they have been a pleasure to deal with and professional to work with. Thanks so much

I have worked with the team at MIL for a number of years on my cases. They are nice to deal with and to be frank, get the job done. If you have debt that needs recovering, they are the leaders in their game. Do not look anywhere else.

Great company!
We have recently started using Mil Collections after speaking to Dave and also chatting to him at BEVA Congress. We have only just started working with Mil Collections so we are new into this working relationship, but we have received funds for every client we have sent to them so far, which is impressive, and we are looking forward to continuing this working relationship together.

Absolute con merchants
Absolute con merchants - tried to force me to pay a fictitious debt.
Then they started phoning business associates and discussed the situation - thereby breaking GDPR.
Don't bother trying to talk to them - the agents just talk over you and then won't stand by what they say and will even go as far as denying the words that have just left their lips.
They'll try and convince you that they can't send emails - but they can, lying comes easy to this bunch of con artists.

I had an excellent experience with this debt collection agency. Not only were they professional and easy to work with, but they also took the time to give me genuinely helpful advice on how to properly credit check people before extending services. Their guidance was clear, practical, and something I can actually use to protect my business moving forward.
It’s rare to find a company in this industry that goes above and beyond just doing their job, but they truly did. I appreciate their honesty, expertise, and willingness to help. I definitely recommend them to anyone looking for reliable debt collection services or knowledgeable support.

Fabulous service
MIL have helped in successfully recover a few debts for my business over the years. I have found them to be utterly professional and courteous, both to me as the client and to the debtors they deal with daily. It cannot be an easy job to do to ask debtors to pay what they owe, naturally they aren't happy. The patience and professionalism I've experienced seeing and hearing them in action leave no doubt they are leaders in the field.

Total Rip-Off , Do not respond
All they got is your details and make up some false information with nothing to proof.
And hoping you will pay in panic.

I'm sharing a copy of the email I wrote to MIL today. In my view, they rely on the 'low hanging fruit'... people who will just pay the money because they are scared or easily bullied. Fortunately, I am neither and have had plenty of experience in these kinds of matters as a multiple property owner, and it can end up costing the debt company more than the profit they make. The KPIs the agents are given to bring money in are likely pretty tough to be fair, but I do wonder if they would have more success with other tactics.
My email...
The person who just spoke to me on the phone hung up on me. He may suggest that we were cut off, but I don't believe this to be true if so - and there was no attempt to call me back. I believe his name was XXXX. I am guessing that he will suggest that it was a hostile conversation, but please listen back to the recording to hear how it transpired to become that, and to what extent I was listened to and my simple question answered. I suggested that it was likely that he would continue to interrupt me because he is nervous that I am going to ask the question that he can't answer or doesn't want to hear. He clearly did not like that at all - but, I believe that when someone is deliberately evading the question and asking "What do you want" but then not listening to the answer, that is the only conclusion I can draw.
He asked me "what I wanted" on more than one occasion but couldn't wait for me to finish the question - and he could not answer my question which was to ask whether or not MIL had spoken to Octopus about the issue (which was focused on the potential for incorrect Smart Meter readings (which was what Octopus had suggested originally may have been the problem). This course of action was a result of a perfectly reasonable and pleasant conversation I had previously had with a representative of MIL.
The reason for me knowing the detail of what, if any conversation MIL would have had could potentially overlap or cause confusion. That said, if I know that MIL has not spoken with Octopus (i.e. about the issue of potentially inaccurate readings, and the issue of there being initially a tenant, and then no tenant during the time of the readings) then I would do that myself - rather than us both conversing.
He was not interested in any kind of resolution of the issue, he was only interested in getting me to pay the balance (which would be a ludicrous thing to do given the circumstances I had tried to outline).
I will always pay what is owed, but there is clearly an issue that needs resolving first. He repeatedly told me that would be a dispute with Octopus. I corrected him - saying that it was not a dispute... Octopus were as confused as I was about the potentially inaccurate readings, and whether they had somehow been cross-polluted or a malfunction had occurred.
I suggested he go back and listen to the recordings.
I also asked (and he confirmed) at the start of the conversation that I could have access to all the recordings / transcripts from the inception of the interactions with MIL.
I also said that I had not had responses to previous emails I had sent (albeit they were fairly innocuous and mainly to acknowledge so - whilst I would anticipate an MIL rep responding to me, it is feasible that if they had nothing to say, they would not answer).
Next steps
I would like to invoke a subject access request for all recordings and transcripts with MIL since the first correspondence please.
I would ask you to please listen back to the recordings from the very start of this issue where the person I spoke to originally said that they were going to follow up with Octopus (not just look at data).
- I would like a copy of your complaints procedure
- I would like a copy (by email) of your terms and conditions, data, privacy (and any related) policies.
- I won't be paying the bill quoted, because this is potentially inaccurate - and linked to a tenant who would have been responsible.
In the meantime, I will talk to Octopus to see if there has been any progress, because I will assume that MIL has not spoken to them (which was the main thing I was trying to ascertain from the conversation with XXXX today).
I have proactively (as a landlord) sought to engage with Octopus (and now MIL) to explore and resolve, but the person I just spoke to on the phone was only interested in suggesting that I should pay the balance.
Additionally, I understand if he has difficulties with speech, but I needed to ask him to speak more clearly several times (speed and clarity). I would not want to raise this as a key issue, but it does not help in terms of a reasonable, flowing conversation.
I won't pay anything towards any balance, until resolved - and I certainly won't be bullied into paying by a man whose only intention was to try to 'urge' and 'suggest' that I pay the balance, rather than to resolve the issues
Very helpful and pleasant to deal with
Well, what can I say. I was made aware that I had a debt which quite honestly slipped my mind due to running multiple companies but I spoke to a chap and quite honestly very pleasant experience and from start to finish they handled it perfectly and in future I may have to use them myself to recover monies owed to me. Don’t be afraid to deal with debt collection if they’re contacting you there’s a reason just deal with it head on and you may be surprised.

Seems strange to be giving 5* to a debt collection agency but the 5* goes to Ben Chapman personally. It has been a pleasure to speak with Ben, he took into consideration my personal circumstances which were in a dire state of affairs but we got there. I was honest from the get go and between us worked it all out. Great job Ben and thanks for everything,
My experience with MiL Collections
MiL Collections pursued my company in court for a utility bill, even though we never occupied the property or had a contract with the supplier. I had explained this and provided documents years earlier, yet they still took the case to a hearing in August 2025. The judge noted they had no evidence to support their claim and gave them 90 days to produce some, otherwise the case will be dismissed. This caused unnecessary stress and cost. My advice: keep everything in writing, and don’t be intimidated.
