Setting up my 44 page book of photos I took when building my house in France was difficult. Though having done it I’d know now the procedure.
I was a bit disappointed that all the images were darker than the ones I uploaded, but in my experience of printing it is quite usual for images to print darker. I think this should be pointed out before uploading, I could easily have tweaked the levels when putting the images together. Because they are darker a lot of detail is lost in the shadowed areas.
If I’d have know I’d like to have had heavier paper, the weight of the covers and the rather thin content of 44 pages seemed a bit ridiculous, the pages needed padding out more.
Anyway the whole thing was not expensive, but I was a bit disappointed when the books arrived.

I have used Mixam to create End of Year colouring books for my students for the last 7 years. The process to upload my file, select the preferences and order is so simple. The products always arrive in good time and the quality is fantastic. I highly recommend them!

I thought i had uploaded a front and back to my postcard, turns out i'd selected something that invalidated the back, I dont find their set up very intuititive or easy, wasted time and money, no recompense, had to go to vistaprint who actually sent much better quality postcards in the end anyway, given it was impossible to get any phone support, can be safely said im unlikely to order from Mixam again mainly due to lack of support, even though it says on website support avail 24/7 via phone.

After some confusion on my part I got what I wanted

For my first ever order with Mixam I did quite a large order which I was a little apprehensive about but they offered such a good rate per book and a very good turnaround time so I thought I would go for it.

The online service to customise my quote was fantastic with so many different options, and then producing a template unique to your quote is such an important tool that I used.

My book was an art exhibition catalogue which was mainly images so the files were quite large, but they uploaded onto the site very quickly and with no issues and I was able to verify straight away that it was all correct.

The deadline for the books to be printed and sent was perfectly accurate and they were sent out on time via DPD which arrived the next day.

In regards to the quality of the print they came out absolutely amazing. Like I said, the whole book was mainly images and every page looked fantastic, the cover and printed inside covers were great too. There were no trim lines visible and every book was uniform with each other.

Printing defects:
From my whole order I identified 3% of the copies had a very minor defect from printing, such as indents from perhaps a guillotine press or something, and a little bit of ink spread. However, 97% were perfect and the ones that weren't were very minor so I don't blame anyone there missing them.

Shipping:
Unfortunately, there were books which were damaged in transit. Some boxes arrived damaged and ripped which caused a few of the corners, spines, and some covers to rip, warp and deform. The overwhelming majority of the books were pristine thankfully. The damaged ones were an issue with exclusively the delivery company when handling the heavy boxes, who aside from that did a great job.

Support:
When I reached out to Mixam for support regarding these damaged books I identified the most damaged books which I wanted reprinted and I also separately identified the books which had some spine or corner damage from shipping. I was ready to be told that perhaps some may be reprinted but not others due to the varying levels of damage, and was certainly okay to forgive some of the lighter damage.
Very quickly I got a response from Kiri who let me know that every book will be reprinted which was absolutely amazing. Kiri was very quick in replying to emails, super supportive and helpful, and made sure that my problems were sorted out as soon as possible, with the replacements to be reprinted and sent out as soon as they could.

Overall, I've had a fantastic experience with Mixam, will be using their services again soon, and recommend them favourably. The print team did an outstanding job, and when needed, Kiri from the support team made sure my experience overall couldn't be anything less than 100%.

Similar to another user review here. My artwork would not upload after multiple attempts. I tried to use the support bot, but it just went round in circles telling me to check my file sizes (they were well within limits) and to rename my files, which I did.
The bot then offered to connect me to an agent, but then came back and said that no agents were available. It then attempted to do this again, with the same result.
An update to my review -05/08/2026:
Mixam support were able to assist, and I am now pleased with the zines that I received. The support agent also explained what the original issue was and what needed to be changed.
However, I still think that the support bot needs work since I did not find it helpful at all. Therefore, I would still question whether adequate support is available 24/7.

Absolutely horrendous from start to finish. Cocked up delivery times, which meant would miss them arriving the last day of term. Upgraded to premium processing to arrive 2 days before end of term, they did not. Once arrived 5 days after school closed, the quality is appalling - over 120 books - most pages crinkled and stuck together. Now fighting for a resolution for £600+ worth of paper that is only good for making a fire! And to add, the most unhelpful, unfriendly staff both on the phone and on their chat messaging service online.

Good backend for design, many options that are clearly described.

I ordered 30 copies of a book we made for kids at school. The price was very competitive and the customisation options were really good. I chose satin finish and a nice yellow inside paper for the outer pages. You can upload design files but I opted to supply designs to Thier online editor that handles bleed, margins etc. Delivery was on time and very reasonable for a printers on a standard turnaround. Print quality is great you wouldn't know it's made to order it has the same finish as a book mass produced.
I didn't need to deal with customer service. If I could change one thing it would be to make a single copy affordable so I could do a test run first. It felt like quite a leap of faith to go from 0 to 30 copies.
